Every game in existence should have a secret Sephiroth boss battle. I dont care that it is, when I harvest a parsnip in Stardew a certain way, I wanna start hearing one-winged angel.
imagine someone trying to boot up Pong on a vintage arcade cabinet made back in 1972 as a last-ditch effort to escape these secret battles that they somehow keep accidentally triggering, only for them to hear a rendition of One-Winged Angel, composed with nothing but the limited beeps and boops that were available at the time, start to play as a poorly pixelated man begins to walk into frame and wield one of the paddles like a katana
I love how this takes the upbeat tunes of the usual Mario & Luigi games, and turns One Winged Angel into some sort of frantic track, as if you only have a single Super Nova's length to beat Sephiroth.
I love how this is implied that the boss takes place in the funny bone, meaning that Mario and Luigi aren't even at a very high level when fighting a god inside Bowser's liver
Fun fact: there's a strat to make luigi damn near invincible while mario's downed, this means that luigi could theoretically completely facetank sephiroth, only needing mario to be dead in order to pull it off

Besides the remix being an absolute BANGER that mixes the manic silly energy of Tough Guy Alert with the sheer overwhelming force of One-Winged Angel to make a really fun track, my favorite part has to be how the title being "Sephiroth's Inside Story" implies that either Sephy knew about the Bros being in his body and manifested himself inside his own gut, or his immune system is literally smaller Sephiroths. After failing to destroy 2 planets, the brothers are hit for moderate damage and get a random status effect.
we hit a new peak in the M&L vs Sephiroth debate. the next step is somebody making a full on animation of a battle playing out.😆 this composition is PERFECT if you ask me.

I loooooove this so much! It combines the best parts of both songs, I think. The insane frantic tempo of Tough Guy, the sense of danger and intensity from One Winged Angel, and combines it into a unique track. Lovely work!
This is made even better by that fact that Yoko Shimamura did the music for Bowsers Inside Story, and she's done a remix of One Winged Angel for Kingdom Hearts as well.
The description just has me imagining a five minute long attack where every time the Supernova bounces, it plays an in-game cutscene depicting lightyears of travel, smashing through every planet each time
Supernova feels likes a Dream Team attack, where Mario and Luigi have to do many different stuff to stop Supernova from going off. In Bowser’s Inside Story, it would be the Japanese 20-second attack.
