    Every time I search EVAP pressure sensor for my truck I get fuel tank pressure sensor info. Thankfully I looked at your video as I really wasn’t looking for more info as. Thought I had it figured out. Unfortunately I already pulled the bed off the frame to access the fuel sensor easier. I also have a EVAP vent code do it wasn’t a total waste of time. Thanks for the video

    Thanks for the upload man! I just passed my smog test and certification with a PO450 code on my ZR2 Blazer.. Just letting people know because alot of disinfo on this code esp. in California. Some say you wont pass some say you might some say you can. I passed whew. My OBD II reading was evap P0450 no CEL ever illuminated. Changed my gas cap before I went into the shop. I did nothing but change the gas cap and my OBDII EVAP red light was still on and I did not fail the test.

    • @CarsNToys

      Wow. Very surprised you passed, especially in CA. Was the code pending?

  • @belgichocolate

    Good videos, very valuable information. I've had a P1440 (small EVAP leak) for a few months and have not found the problem yet. Changed the gas cap. Even smoke tested the system with no luck. However, during one of my inspections I discovered charcoal granules in the vacuum cut by-pass tubing close to the canister. Per Nissan Service bulletin NTB00-085a, I am planning to clean out all of the tubing once my new canister shows up. My guess is that some granules are preventing valves from fully closing or blocking the pressure sensor path which end up tripping the CEL. Fingers crossed.

    Hello, looking for some advice on my car. It’s a 2011 Cadillac SRX.the car threw a code the other day for a po496 which is Evap flow during non purge… found out the purge valve was bad so I replaced that and now the car is going crazy and has other codes now. The 496 went away but it won’t start but for a second then stall out after several attempts it will start but the second you give it acceleration it stalls out. I don’t understand what else. Possible Evap leak? Other than this code the car threw a code for a 02 sensor but have been driving with that code for 8 months. Not sure if maybe the pressure sensor. Believe it’s in my fuel pump on this car so that won’t be easy all that easy to access. This all started when I filled up the tank with gas 2 weeks ago and it wouldn’t start at the gas station. Sat for a bit then the car started and drove just fine. Until 2 days ago. Car started stalling and went into reduced engine power

    I have a 2001 Camry and have a PO450 and PO446 code when I did your pressure sensor test I got.
    With a brand NEW canister and sensor. No pressure 3.9v and -2pka 4.9v and
    my old canister and pressure sensors it reads 3.3v no pressure , 4.75v -2 kpa
    If i blow pressure into the the vacuum line the voltage drops. The opposite of your video. Do you think this is why I am still getting the codes? Thank you for taking the time to do these videos. They are awesome!!!

    I've had "EVAP system monitor incomplete" for at least 10 drive cycles. There have been no trouble codes, so apparently there are no vacuum leaks. If the tank pressure sensor was bad, wouldn't there be a trouble code? I've had the tank out a couple times already and really dread having to take it out again. If the sensor wire was open between the tank and the computer, wouldn't there also be a trouble code? Wait, it that was open then the sensor wire at the tank would read 5 volts, wouldn't it? I'm really stumped on this one, hoping you can help!

    I have a 1996 240sx, for the past 6 years it has been throwing the code p0446 (the vent valve). I have replaced every hose and the carbon canister and the vent valve itself. I tested the continuity of the wiring etc. Basically I did everything and no matter what, it keeps throwing that code. it's frustrating because I can't pass inspection with this code. I brought it to multiple mechanics and they each told me something different. I ended up buying a new ECU and re-wiring the whole thing and it still won't go away. Recently I was looking at the FSM for the 100000th time and noticed it mentioned the pressure control sensor might be responsible for causing this code to pop up under p0446. Any thoughts on this? I'm so frustrated that I just want to buy a new control pressure sensor as a hail Mary attempt but they're like $120. idk what to do man, I'm losing my mind haha

    The tests for 5v and ground are not valid with the connector unplugged, your circuit is not loaded. No current flow = no voltage drop.
    You could have high resistance In the circuit and still read 5v at your meter.
    When doing these kinds of tests your circuit has to be loaded.

    • @kermit80526
      @kermit80526 7 лет назад +1

      Somewhat true, but still a valid test that most mechanics would perform. The voltage drop would be from the small current applied by your DMM. Yes it could be a weak connection and still give good results, but this is rare for lower power consumption circuits like a sensor.
