I don't understand buying a movie that you don't care for just because it has good A/V quality. If it's for the channel coverage, I guess it could pay for itself, but I'd still only want movies that I love on my shelf.
I loved how Crimson Peak Looked as well. And seeing all that detail in full screen was the best part. I normally dont mind the black bars at the top and bottom of movies but full screen made you notice everything better here. Would make it my number 2 too.
Great picks. Keep up the good work with your best of the month/year videos!!
I would have to say Starman deserves to be on a top 10 list so far. It's the best of Columbia Classics Vol 4.
Excellent pick, if I was doing all catalogue stuff it would have made the list.
Great video, thanks mate. 😊
Great video! Agree that Crimson Peak and Dune 2 are amazing. I would say Peeping Tom is my top for this year so far. Looking forward to Terminator's 40th release on 4K steelbook.
The Raid looked and sounded INCREDIBLE!!!!
I own 7/10 of these and I’d agree with your comments 👍🏻
After hearing the news today about how In Search of Physical Media channel fakes their screenshots (evidence on Reddit), I’m glad to still have you around as an honest reviewer. Thanks for everything!
What do you mean? And how was this proven?
@@FrankieKennethL I mentioned where the evidence could be found in my comment
Hes basically is a seller, putting biased reviews.Just one example he was saying that "Stand by me" dolby vision steelbook has better pq over the previous 4k blu ray and "higher bitrate" when in fact the old 4k has bigger file size. Also he never replies to comments
I saw the so called “evidence” and I was not convinced. ISOPM always shows that he owns the box copy, and his reviews have always been level headed and spot on. I think that thread was a hit job and i question the validity of the claims about where he gets his screenshots. To me he is still a top tier reviewer.
@@romualdspizans3163 The added dolby vision does improve many of those re releases.
Love it!
Not sure about full top 10 but for me the best ones so far: American Sniper, Contagion and Aquaman. Dune was okay but I don't get the massive love it gets
Dear Adam. I live overseas on an island. I typically purchase from Amazon. Once I purchase and the items are delivered, returning problematic disks is not practical. I own two great 4k players (Panasonic UB9000 & the 800 as well). My question is, WHY are there so many defective 4K disks? I have probably 5% of my 4k disks that have problems. Examples (Top Gun Maverick & Jaws - Just will not play at all!), Apocalypse Now (goes pixelated during the Helicopter “Ride o the Valkyries” scene). This just to name a few of my problematic disks. Due to my situation, I am now passing on 4K disks, Unless the package includes a standard blue ray as well. A heartbreaking situation for me, since I build a dedicated 4x8 meter 7.4.2 Dolby ATMOS Theater… Is a defect rate of 5% normal for 4k Disks?
I gotta agree with your #1
Too bad aliens didn’t make the list, I actually thought it was fine
Fine isn't the same level as top 10. Not sure why you would want a 4k many people were disappointed with to make a best of list.
Alien 1 was amazing, but Aliens (2nd movie) 4k version had super weird AI upscaling and lots of problems.
Aliens 4k looked unbelievable on my oled. I dont care what anyone says.
@@breadordecide same, a few scenes were soft but 99% of film was A1
Enough so that James Cameron gave it his official approval
I have an OLED as well but Aliens 4k was still a heavily revisionist release with DNR and AI. It's issue isn't that it looks bad, the issue is it looks wrong. It's not true to the original look of the film, and for that reason it shouldn't be considered a best of the year. Not a difficult concept to grasp and understand. I'm glad you're happy with it, but your opinion isn't anywhere near unanimous across the board.
The only ones i bought were The Abyss 4k and The Conan Chronicles 4k
Nice to see your handsome face again Adam.
I have a few of these, gutted that The Crow didn't make it tbh. Nor did Navy seals from V S. The artwork and VS usual packaging are amazing or Once upon a time in the west but maybe it's disc size let it down or maybe even Narc. Totally agree with Crimson peak. I have American sniper, Conan chronicles, Crimson peak, The Abyss, with more great titles to come in the next 6 months inc Twister, the terminator , a nightmare on elm street to name a few.
Adam, what was your review of The Bourne Identity?? Is it worth it picture and sound wise as I've heard mixed reviews. I want the franchise but if identity is bluray quality on a 4K disc then it's not worth it for me.. maybe it needs to have a new transfer. I love the films but unsure
I’m not really a fan of those movies so I don’t own them but I’ve often heard they aren’t very good quality when compared to the blu-rays.
@@MovieGuy365 that's what I've heard. Cheers as always for your feedback & reviews. Keep the faith brother & keep being strong 🙏🙏🙏
I think Conan deserved much higher placement. Crimson Peak has my #1 spot atm. Curious about paprika now. Thanks!
Yeah, Dune part 2 is hard to beat. Getting Crimson Peak in a couple weeks. I don't have any of the others. Might get The Abyss. Some day Godzilla vs Kong and One Love.
My Bloody Valentine
Aliens
The Crow
The Departed
The Amityville Horror
All great 4K's. Excellent quality.
Have 6/10. I got American Sniper and Godzilla x Kong for Father's Day! 🎉😅
I only have one of those and that is Dune which I have not watch yet. I did not know Godzilla X Kong was out yet. I have American Sniper but only on blu-ray. Some of those movies I never heard of but I might check some of them out. I will get Godzilla but I will pass on Wonka since I was not a fan of the first one as a kid
You didn't care for Wonka!? Gasp*😮 JK 😂 cool video.
Love your reviews Adam! But Godzilla x Kong 👎 personally I’m bored with movies that look like a video game. Unrealistic junk that Atmos and HDR can’t save..
Godzilla vs Kong was better looking and sounding to me but this one was more entertaining to me. They kept the human story line a little bit out of the way in my opinion. I find this one a little more repeat watchable but thats just me. I just want to enjoy movies :)
It's also a terrible cgi

Dude you would be lost without your hands it's like a naked puppet show 😂
Too bad Crimson Peak is a garbage film.
