Haunting version, exceptionally well done. My father was liberated from Dachau along with Geddy's father (my mistake please let me update, I originally wrote his mother and I was mistaken). This song has a lot of meaning for me. Thank you for this video.
I visited Dachau as a teen in 1980. The wall was still up, the tension still deep. In my limited life experience then, I tried desperately to understand the horrors your father lived through. Today, at age 50, I tell you I appreciate your family, their journey and your focus to never let your father's strength subside. Thank you and God bless. - Rob
@@rdgSWwot Thank you Rob for your heartfelt thoughts. It was a very hard journey for my dad, he found happiness here in Canada where he met my mother.
@@WeDanceWestie That's great! My mom is from Toronto originally. My dad from SC. We were a military family. Moving every few years was tough but I appreciated the chance to see the places I've seen. Stay tough.
God bless you! I am so sorry humanity can sink that low!
Wow, well done. RIP to the Professor.
A haunting rendition of this beautiful song. You captured the deep meaning behind the lyrics with your performance.
Any tribute to Neil's lyrics is a good tribute. This one was very well done.
This has me tearing up. What a wonderful rendition of a very powerful song
Thanks Shaun!
@@jacobmoonMan...Im just finding this video. I am definitely a Rush fan...and this is one of fave Rush songs of all time. I wasnt expecting such a soulful, haunting rendition such as yours. Breaking it down to basics like u have was genius. Im a musician of 40+ years so i know what sounds good. Thanks for sharing your talents with the world!
Dear Mr. Moon: Thank you. I love Rush. And although I am often impressed with other artists covers (in terms of playing the notes correctly)--but honestly underwhelmed because I'd rather see the originals perform the work they wrote. Put another way I'm MORE interested in artists' interpretation of RUSH through their own creative lenses. And I have to say that your work is the exact right mix of the actual song + your creativity and artistry. Love your version of "Subdivisions"--please keep honoring the great Canadian Power Trio as you have--with great majestic craftsmanship
I normally enjoy Rush covers until I heard Primus do Kings, Crap I'm afraid.
This is my favorite Rush song and I love this cover! I love the way it portrays the emotion of the lyrics!
This is the first time I've heard a Rush cover that I actually enjoyed. The mood that is captured is just amazing. Brilliant. Today I became a Jacob Moon fan.
His version of Subdivisions is so amazing that he was asked to perform it for an audience of only three people : Geddy, Alex snd Neil. Figure that out.
there is so much emotion in geddy's singing, this song is very powerful in my opinion. very good cover.
This version makes so much sense now . Thanks for bringing Neil s lyrics to light
Agree- just heard the story for the first time.
beautifully haunting and making me think about Grandma and her years in Cottbus workcamp... she left some year ago but the song helps me try and imagine , see through her eyes that day as.. she never wanted to speak out.... absolutely brilliant !
tears.......
I was wondering what this song would sound stripped back to the piano. Thank you for letting me know.
How did I miss you had done a Red Sector A cover. One of the greatest Rush Songs ever! You've done an amazing version!
I'm sad that I'm just now finding this - but WOW. My favorite Rush cover on YT, hands down. When I was young I liked this song because it was different, "electronic." Now that I'm older and I get it, your version pays excellent tribute to the song and to Neil. Thank you!
Rush is an extraterrestrial, band. Number one
They have assumed control in the Solar Federation.
Fantastic cover! Your version really brings out the meaning in this song. Now I got the hi hat stuck in my head lol 😂 So happy you signed our 40th anniversary Rush album. Friends from Mount Forest🎼❤️
Oh wow. I just discovered this. Great reinterpretation of a great song
Hauntingly beautiful! This is amazing, Jacob!
Thank you, does justice to the meaning of Neils sensitive and emotional lyrics.
Probably the best Rush cover i have seen... awesome arrangement.
Absolutely amazing! Delicate yet still powerful. I see the song in a whole new light....
at first i didn't think i'd like this but a few more bars in i found it original and captivating. just a really great reinterpreting of this song!!
Speechless. Wonderfully done
Just, wow , such a powerful song but only really got it here
Beautiful rendition of such a powerful song! Thank you.
Neil's lyrics is so spot on this song... So good. And so so good performance.
I could picture this version working brilliantly in a musical theatre show - someone just needs to write the show !
That’s a beautiful and poignant rendition, Jacob. Love it. ❤️🎵
Very well done,, totally brilliant,,,,,,,
Your version is beautiful. It gives me goose bumps.
Thank you!!
Very important song, different way to express it.
So much feeling!!!
Brilliant interpretation of this song - very powerful and touching

Very theatrical piece. Well done Jacob!

Gorgeous!
Awesome cover. Have your first album.
I repeat what I said a long ago, your voice and performing is Fantastic, what a quality. All my best wishes!

🙏✌❤🎶🌎
Great!
Magnificent
Beautifully haunting. WOW.
So powerful and beautifully sung!
Awesome!
Beautifully done.
I really liked it so I'll forget about the mother/brother mixup. Great job.
I caught that one too!
Is it a mixup? I thought it was intentional. A minor change could reflect his interpretation.
@@chriscarter9122 I agree. It's hard to believe so much effort and passion would go into this rendition with such a glaring lyrical error. He may have had his own reasons to swap the words.
Beautiful interpretation!
Thanks for listening Chris!
Beautiful. Well done!
qué buena onda loco!!!!!!
felicitaciones, gracias!
Good version
What you've produced here is nothing but epic. It's very moving, well played :)
Incredible ! ♥️
Bone chilling cover
Thanks man!
Wow. Made it his own.
Great work !!
Hermoso
heavy!!!
Haunting and very powerful. Well done.
Great!!! Thank you
Love Neil’s lyrics even more than his drumming
You have to do Bravado!!!!!
Parabéns muito feeling envolvido!
Excellent interpretation. Curious as to why you changed the lyrics from "I must help my Mother stand up straight" to Brother?
It was biographical to the arranger Adi Berk, whose grandfather and his brother were in a camp during the war.
Well done.
Who's the violinist? I love her contribution to the song.
Sahra Featherstone
@@jacobmoon hey Jacob...she did a awesome job in my eyes but i know you know she slayed it! Btw...like your cover of this RUSH song. I honestly didnt understand this song when it came out even though i was in high school. I wasnt good at history. Now i know so much more about WWII and what insanely criminal bastards the elite Nazis were and how demented they were...yet how powerful and systematic they were. So many Jewish people fell victim to the SS Regime. This is a great tribute to history and also RUSH. Thank you!
Excellent version. So odd to hear a Rush song without kickass drums and with a voice in a smoother and more soothing range.
Good job. Nice rendition. Although the lyrics are: "For my father and my brother ... and "But I must help my mother ..."
Loved it !! But Why change the lyric !!
Better than the ‘real’ thing
You wrecked the lyrics! Other than that you sounded great!
