Yeah, he is not underrated. You clearly know nothing about RUSH. Many guitar players were inspired by him. The band has sold millions of albums. The "underrated" comment under every artist on RUclips just needs to die.

Imagine "Horton Hears a Who" as a female RUSH FAN screaming, "We are here! We are here! We are here!........ Well dudes, that's what us FEMALE RUSH FANS have been shouting for years. Since 1982 for me!
The reality is Rush is not together backstage after a concert ever. Neil immediately runs off the stage during Geddy's last words, hops on his bike, and gets the hell out of there. Truth.
Actually, Neil would get on his bus and be driven out of town, find a spot to stop and sleep, then in the morning get the bikes out and ride on to the next gig.
Funny thing, Ged DOES sound like he's singing "Sawyee," but not during that part of the song. It's during "Exit the warrior, today's Tom Sawyee..." And they do a joke about fans mispronouncing Neil's last name, which TOTALLY happens... except fans don't mispronounce it as "Pairt" like they do here; they usually say "Pert." (Both are wrong. It's Peart, and you need to put the "ear" in your pronunciation of it.)
This was the movie they played at the end of the shows on the Time Machine Tour after the band has run off the stage after the encore. They’d roll this film then bring up the house lights.
Wonder why they ended up editing this scene out of the movie? Probably because Paul Rudd's girlfriend was with them during the concert scene but not with them backstage.....
"Seven females at a Rush concert. Must be some kind of world record". Classic. Rush is the only event I've been to where the line to the rest room is out the door on the men's side, and not the women's side.
I saw Rush in Baltimore, the Time Machine tour and I had to do a double take...there were two young black females all decked out in Rush apparel at the concert. I know Rush fans come form all walks and genders, but I thought it was too cool to see that.
+Geo B Hey, I'm a female, and I love Rush!! Went to go seen them at Montreal for their Rush-40 concert, along with my two other female friends. Music doesn't have any gender guys ;)
PackersBrewersROCK But not where the Rudd character says he does. He doesn't say it in the beginning; he says it at the END of the song: "Exit the warrior, today's Tom Sawyeee, he gets high on you, and the energy you trade..."
The world misses you Neil...but you certainly left a lot of us to ponder with your lyrics as well as true inspiration to kick ass on an instrument. RIP Professor.
I watch this a few times a month to get a good natured giggle before I start the day. All the "acting" is so natural - I feel like a fly on the wall watching a backstage attempt to meet the guys' favorite band. Rush are natural performers in every aspect and I'd like to think they enjoyed participating in this skit. What a bonus! "That sign, is for like Roadies and stuff, OK?" Dude! I don't think Tom Sawyee would think that's ok either. LOL
The fact that Rush decided to sign Peter's bass despite that awkwardness, shows that from they are not only the greatest band from a fan's perspective, but also the nicest band in the world.
This brings back memories. I got to see them on this tour and it is the only time I did. I was 19 and I played bass and I lived rush and was so happy to see them. There was no opening act and they played moving pictures non stop before the intermission. Hands down the best show I’ve ever seen. Now ten years later I can’t help but think about how lucky I was.
How amazing is Rush? Bout times a hunerd every passing yr. Been a fan since '79. not many folks liked 'em then. Great to see them finally get a smidge of the respect and reverence they so righteously deserve.
you can say that for a lot of bands from our era brother, when I was a kid they first came out and all my metal head friends would mock them and me for liking them, don`t care I`v seen them 11 times and loved every show
at the concert in Dallas Sept 2010 they actually played this clip after the show on the big screens. Amazed how many Rush fans had NOT seen that movie yet. "slappin me base"
I listened to Rush this AM and the song Time Stand Still randomed up. Hit me in the feels in a good and bad way. Life moves fast and i recall listening to these guys 40 years ago at age 13 (2112) and being blown away.
It made me so happy to see they expanded the I love you man universe with this golden tidbit. Just a little priceless tiddleeee. Jason Segel and Paul Rudd are such a great duo.
I’m one of the lucky men who is married to one of those female Rush fans. I’ve seen Rush on every tour since Permanent Waves in 1980 and never missed a tour following that. My wife had been going to Rush concerts since the Presto tour and that was before I knew her. We have been to every tour together since Counterparts. the last tour we saw was Clockwork Angles and we will sadly never see them love again. I know how rare female Rush fans are, so I know how lucky I am to be married to one.
I was a little boy in a small ontario town. My buddy and I would go to this railhouse. it was a train station and restaurant and there was an arcade room. there was a corner store across the street as well where you could get cheap and awesome sandwiches. i must have been 9 years old. one day this guy came up the service road with a buddy. they stopped in and we guarded their bikes. I talked with the one man for about 45 minutes because he was on a bicycling adventure. I remember the red panier bags he had on the sides of his wheels. I talked to the man about hiking on the bruce trail and the small town and bikes and he told me about some of his cycling adventures. then came the mind blowing moment. While we were talking music came a subject. I started playing guitar for about a year. I told him a " one time....." story where i put all of my raffle tickets into a brown paper bag at my school to win a record "and all the grade 8's were cheering when i won". He asked me what the record was and I said " Rush Archives". The man was Neil Peart.
That’s so great you got a chance to talk with Neil for quite a while! What town did you grow up in? What train station and restaurant? I’m wondering if I might have biked in that area when I lived in Ontario.

Actually, Neil would get on his bus and be driven out of town, find a spot to stop and sleep, then in the morning get the bikes out and ride on to the next gig.
@@claygilchrist632 And that's how you ghost after a show. Be the first outta town.
"Tom Sawyee" LMFAO
Yee
Tom sawyeet
Funny thing, Ged DOES sound like he's singing "Sawyee," but not during that part of the song. It's during "Exit the warrior, today's Tom Sawyee..."
And they do a joke about fans mispronouncing Neil's last name, which TOTALLY happens... except fans don't mispronounce it as "Pairt" like they do here; they usually say "Pert." (Both are wrong. It's Peart, and you need to put the "ear" in your pronunciation of it.)
Rex Holes - he ruined it for me, lol!!!
@@markdaniels7174
I write it
as "Soyyy",
to make it as easy as possible to get the joke!
"Today the drum beat died" Neil drum with the Gods in heaven. 2020 NP the Best drummer that ever lived.
is this technically a mini sequel to I Love You Man
Aquatic Highs ...........yes
LorenzoVonMatterhorn 2 months to wait
This was the movie they played at the end of the shows on the Time Machine Tour after the band has run off the stage after the encore. They’d roll this film then bring up the house lights.
It would be more like an "in-quel" since they went to the concert in the middle of the movie.
It’s great cause Rush are such big fans of comedy. I bet they loved being in this movie.
I saw Rush in Baltimore, the Time Machine tour and I had to do a double take...there were two young black females all decked out in Rush apparel at the concert. I know Rush fans come form all walks and genders, but I thought it was too cool to see that.
Det Van Hey man I was at that show!
Bram Elswick Cool, did you see those black chicks at the concert too? lol Even my wife was like, that's unusual, but pretty cool nonetheless.
Det Van Black AND FEMALE!? holy shit.
Not so much the black part but the FEMALE part!?
Marriage material.
+Det Van Check out the Rush in Rio video.....there are plenty of women in the audience ;-)....I was there and can say that it was just like that.
+Geo B Hey, I'm a female, and I love Rush!! Went to go seen them at Montreal for their Rush-40 concert, along with my two other female friends. Music doesn't have any gender guys ;)
He does say tom sawyee sometimes lol
PackersBrewersROCK But not where the Rudd character says he does. He doesn't say it in the beginning; he says it at the END of the song: "Exit the warrior, today's Tom Sawyeee, he gets high on you, and the energy you trade..."
Mark Daniels "He gets right on to the friction of the, DAAAAYY"
Yep
How they all kept a straight face is amazing
The world misses you Neil...but you certainly left a lot of us to ponder with your lyrics as well as true inspiration to kick ass on an instrument.
RIP Professor.
Who remembers Jason Segal's character on "Freaks and Geeks"? A wannabe drummer who was nuts about Neil Peart.
I don't know about Paul but Jason is a true fan in real life
Six more pieces my kit will be bigger than Neil pearts kit !!
Im wondering if he ever got his drum kit up to an even 30 pieces.
@@thotsnpreyers Since everyone on Freaks & Geeks went on to bigger and better things, he's probably all set.
@Mitch Gawlik - Thank you very much for the info! I just finished watching episode 1 and thought it was quite entertaining, too :-)
The expressions on Alex, Geddy, and Neil's faces were priceless. Funnier than the other two guys. RIP Professor .
Very nice tribute to RUSH, among other things Thank you.
So that means there's a double neck signed by all three members of Rush sitting around his house...
yep exactly
We need Paul Rudd's address
I watch this a few times a month to get a good natured giggle before I start the day. All the "acting" is so natural - I feel like a fly on the wall watching a backstage attempt to meet the guys' favorite band. Rush are natural performers in every aspect and I'd like to think they enjoyed participating in this skit. What a bonus! "That sign, is for like Roadies and stuff, OK?" Dude! I don't think Tom Sawyee would think that's ok either. LOL
Hey Rush i'm a girl who loves your music! I wish they'd come to Australia, I'd see em in a heartbeat :(
me too, what a great band, helped me out so much with their lyrics :)
hey girl i feel 4 u it took them almost 30 yrs to get to brazil come to america 22 times 4 me lol
to make you feel better, I live in Australia and they have never come :(
Igael Vahgelt I feel your pain!
I remember the snakes and arrows show in puerto rico 2008, what a show, I will never forget, wish they will be back sometime!!!!
The fact that Rush decided to sign Peter's bass despite that awkwardness, shows that from they are not only the greatest band from a fan's perspective, but also the nicest band in the world.
You do know it's scripted?
totally teared up - they are so sweet - great guys - totally Canadian - few are like them - great stuff
Geddy is analyzing and laughing at you at the same time...legend!
Dude, Rush is the greatest band of all time.
A fact.
I'm more of a Queen guy, but Rush is definitely up there.
Gunduy No how about of ALL TIME.
Gunduy that title still belongs to the Beatles, but Rush is great.
@409 lol, the Beatles were much more than just pioneers. That's why they're considered the greatest band of all time.
I've got friends who have met Rush, and they say all the guys are really cool and appreciate their fans.
This is too funny. And Rush are the coolest for playing along! Rush Forever! 🤘
"Seven females at a Rush concert - must be some kind of a world record." Lol. Neil got me with that one. RIP, man.
How amazing is Rush? Bout times a hunerd every passing yr. Been a fan since '79. not many folks liked 'em then. Great to see them finally get a smidge of the respect and reverence they so righteously deserve.
you can say that for a lot of bands from our era brother, when I was a kid they first came out and all my metal head friends would mock them and me for liking them, don`t care I`v seen them 11 times and loved every show
Geddy lee is the collest guy in the whole world, isn't he?
Especially when he flashes a double ✌🏼 at you. Coolest rock star ever.
The most amazing Rock Star in the universe!
Boy, 2020 started off with Neil dying and the world went straight to hell.
The BEST skit EVER RIP Neil :( I'm devastated LOVE YOU RUSH!
I love when Sydney (Jason Segal) calls Alex "Leiflet" lol
Ray Harber So funny! And that moment blows by and gets lost among the more popular jokes: jerkoff station, Pairt, Tom Sawyee, slappa da bass, etc.
at the concert in Dallas Sept 2010 they actually played this clip after the show on the big screens. Amazed how many Rush fans had NOT seen that movie yet.
"slappin me base"
Same for the show at red rocks in CO
After watching this, my life is complete.
Who just watched this movie ?? Lmao best movie ever
Super underrated movie
Very funny movie --- one of Paul Rudd's best comedies
What is the film?
@@aupaaupa2377 the title of the movie is « I Love You, Man »
Part of the reason I got into rush lol 😅
I listened to Rush this AM and the song Time Stand Still randomed up. Hit me in the feels in a good and bad way. Life moves fast and i recall listening to these guys 40 years ago at age 13 (2112) and being blown away.
Nick Andopolis is screaming right now haha
Yeeeeees !!!
I wonder if he added those extra pieces to his kit so he would have more than Neil
Haha best comment
that basically is nick
Geddy is a really good actor. Who knew. I'd like to see him in a movie or TV series.
It made me so happy to see they expanded the I love you man universe with this golden tidbit. Just a little priceless tiddleeee.
Jason Segel and Paul Rudd are such a great duo.
7 females at a Rush concert must be some kind of a world record hahhahahahaahha
true, but 1 proud female rush fan here. no band can top them. ever.
@Jay Caldwell Are you creepy on the internet?
@Jay Caldwell No, but I am hot. Trust me.
@Jay Caldwell Gross
When I was about 11 I love you man was my favourite comedy and Rush was the first band I was going to see...When they played this at the end of the Time Machine Tour it was life changing lol R.i.P. Neil, thanks for the amazing first show and the never ending inspiration
Got to pay tribute to the only drummer who can wield mjolnir
Well said - I love it!
