    A week ago I watched your instructions on a turkey baster and drinking cup baths….fascinating!! Well, and you know what happens; I bought TWO pumps and one came yesterday and of course I made a Hummingbird Bath too!! I wish I could send a pic but anyways, I don’t have 100’s of Hummers like you do. By intense watching ( dragging chairs in two places {I have feeders in front yard and back yard } and sitting watching for hours 👀), I can discern 3 couples in my trees. Early evening, two males and one female came,one at a time, to investigate. There were no takers as yet but I have no doubt there will be in this heat, mid to high 80’s where I am. I used a Rubbermaid container 9x13, with a red lid, drilled hole for wire for pump, sat pump in bottom, it has three little suction cups, got my red t-baster out and drilled hole big enuf for the straw in the red lid, pushed straw through hole to pump and WA LAA! I sat for a bit to regulate drilling more holes for proper water circulation. Ended up making 6 small holes at opposite the pump, thereby water coming up through straw and out top of baster lays on the red lid about a 1/4” deep--PERFECT!!! Your AMAZING!! Thank you for this wonderful idea that I promise you will be used for years and years at my home!

      Your pump design sounds amazing. Sometimes it does take time, but they at least came down and investigate it which means now they know there’s water there. And running water means more to them than standing water. Keep me posted. Good luck beautiful. ❤️😊💕

    Robbie, love your inspiring, you-can-do-it videos! I've made several bird baths, following your thorough instructions, and have them all over my yard. I was making the turkey baster one, when I had a eureka moment!
    I used a clear plastic Christmas ball (10" in circumference/3" in diameter) I had, instead of the baster ball, to make the fountain. All you have to do is burn a hole in the top and insert your tubing. I decided to just put the tubing half way thru and turned on the pump. The water filled the ball and bubbled out of the top, just the way yours did. The birds love it!
    Thanks to you and Gary for sharing your wealth of wisdom on growing food and caring for our beautiful birds. Cheers!

      @denisedengel-payne1347 Год назад

      @@jo-anndalaimo9096 I know Robbie is big on not ordering pumps made in China. Just because if something happens and returns are or can be a hassle. I ordered off of Amazon. Every pump, darn near, was made in China. I did make the decision, however, to order a floating solar pump with a glass top. And I love it. It comes with everything you need to keep your pump running all the time. I’m in Oklahoma. So the heat and Sun are an issue. Algae. Which is not a bad thing. I just make sure to add cold water every morning and if wind has been blowing I double check in the afternoon. Adding ice cubes is another one of Robbie’s favorites. So far it’s not had hummingbirds. But other bigger birds use it and that’s good enough for me. I do keep a HB feeder with just water for them to drink. I wasn’t sure if it would work. But they do drink from it also. Just change water daily so it is fresh.

He’s very gentle when them. My greatest problem with him is ability to leap an 8ft fence, and close NB for hours in trees. He’s stronger, and an effective hunter. I grew up with my great-grands (parents, niece, cousins, uncles) I had a wonderful life! I had all their numbers memorized and I would upsold pack my bag Thursdays, hide it, call them the moment I got home, watched my Swiss Army, and lock clockwork.. doorbell would ring. They’d gas light my paternals. It wasn’t heard there were 8 of us and our friends, I. A 3 BR 21/2. My father and I enclosed 2 parts of a separate garage and put in an ac unit (he ran a business in AC)I talked ignition to Solar power with a back up rig to the property. Meaning we write it, but procedures need to be followed to prime the pump.
    Anyways! I just want some of these! Thanks for listening to my crazy. !

    Wondering about a link for the inexpensive power bank for the pump. Love the show made the fountains last year hummers didn't care much but the other birds did. Want to do the baster this year. Thanks for all the fun.

      I checked on Walmart, and the real cheap ones they had was a flash sale and that one’s gone, but they do have other power banks. Just type in power bank and get at least a 10,000ahm and that will work.

    I’ve been wanting to make a birdbath. I soda maybe 1/year. Two months ago I had a stomach ache and remembered my mom used to give me 7-up, so bought a bottle. Finished it up last week and voila! Your Amazing video popped up to show me how to use my one bottle to make this awesome bird bath. The pump is coming today and I hope to make it this weekend! First will check out Walmart’s basters as the bulb on mine seems a little small. Thank you! ☺️ 🐦 🤞🏽 💦 🛀

    This is AWESOME! I am definitely going to try to make this. Question: How often do you need to change and/or refill the water?
