The same goes here I'm in central Georgia moved from New Jersey. Too hot too hot, but like you I set up my first bird feeder(diy) which let to squirrel feeders to leave my bird feeders alone. I just saw my first hummingbird yesterday so I made her (diy 6$ ) bubbler /bath from them . We have chickens so they share their food with the birds (cost effective)

Great afternoon your hummingbirds are so appreciative of your kindness. I have bubblers n fountains for the hummingbirds but I never see them use it. Doves, sparrows, etc but not the hummingbirds! They fight over the feeders I have so many hummingbirds but they don’t use my fountains. It’s he

I love all your projects that re-use food containers. I am going to have to do one of these fountains one day. I don't have those specific water bottles, but I do have gatorade bottles we collected. Their caps are more difficult to work with though, so I will have to think on it.
Right now, we use a bunch of those to make ice popsicles at the bottom of the bottle in the freezer (fill about 1/4 full of water and freeze), then grab one, fill with water as we go out. Wrap the bottle and we have cold water for hours for free. We actually have many different size bottles but the size of about your water bottle seems to be what we like.

Sometimes running water doesn’t freeze as quick, so you would have to try it. Thank you so very much ❤️😊💕
Could the cut-outs on top of the cover, be smaller? It's because of the "creepy=crawly" falling into the container. Thank you, it looks lovely
You can always cover the lid with tulle, so water can fall through but not anything else. It will probably depend on your use, how you clean, and how dirty the water gets.
I overturn and refill my bird fountain when I water, so it doesn't get too dirty. I am definitely thinking about making one of these that re-uses food containers. I have been re-using my food containers for small indoor kratky hydroponics though, so I will have to wait until I collect more containers.

I just love these fountains. ❤ my problem is I have several outside cats here on the homestead, that the locals so “generously donated” to us as unwanted pregnant females. 😤 I don’t have a safe place for these. ☹️

👍yes, we hang hummingbird feeders from fishing line so the ants won't get them. you could hang these little fountains from fishing line too.
How do you get the sour cream lid to stay on the tub now that it is upside down? I can see one of my catbirds tipping it over. I guess I don’t have to turn it over that way it can snap in place.

But Barbie will love this foundain 😍 I've found a site where I buy some things for my house and has these solar foundains for 10-11 euros. I have heard many cats do like running water, and that would be fun to make. Here the solar kit with the long cord sells for about $10-15 US dollars, so that sounds about the right price.
Our weather is going into now a big heatwave over 100 degrees F. so I might be slow on posting videos. I hope it’s cool down there a little bit by you. Now we start to go into what’s called fire season due to hot dry weather starting, so we’ll have to see how that goes too. I hope you are feeling well, and trying to do some fun stuff.
