Love your ideas ❣ BUT...i have to point out to you and your viewers that the filter is very important for nothing but the lifespan of the motor ! Even the solar pumps...they are all the same. That little screen on top of the propeller isn't enough to protect from fine debris that's not viewable to the naked eyes. These will pile up inside where, eventually it will clog and burn out the motor. Where as, with a filter, all ya have to do is clean it out every now and then. Thoses solar kits are great, but i wrap them up in filter sponge that you can buy online. Plus do you really want your living entertainment to be drinking other birds waste ? Another idea, since you're going to do a set up like this, is for the honey bees, By placing lava rocks in the pond, the bee's can have just the right moist spot for them to drink. The rocks must stick out of the water surface, creating mini islands. Some bird also like perching on these.
Any filter removing THAT small a particle would require a three-by-three solar cell to power the pump to shove water THROUGH a hole that small.
It's just a bird fountain; rinse it out with hot water now and then.

I just ordered 2 pet fountains and 2 battery packs. To keep the battery packs cool I plan on cutting up an old reflective insulated car windshield shade and make a sleeve for the battery pack to keep it cool. The fountain doesn't have a rechargeable motor? Does it have to be plugged in?

Missus here: Oh Robbie, I just saw these yesterday and bought the fountain pump replacements instead of the full drinking fountain. That is fine, I can set up a bird bath for my hummers and other birds on my own, but such a treat to see how this worked for you! Good to know about the buttons.
I love to use items in different uses, and I figured so many people contact me they want running water, so I order a few of these to test, and I LOVE THEM. But do not worry, I still love the fountain replacement pumps (I order 3 more myself and they just came yesterday) as with those you can set them up in any way you want, even in just a tray...Thanks

I seen this and got 2. One for the cats inside. One to put out with my other bird baths. Added the glue for them to Pearch. You are the one that started me building bird baths a few years ago. The birds love them. I record them and put on Facebook.
Another idea:
The actual battery powered ones you can probably get rechargeable batteries, get one for the feeder and one to or more to recharge. Your idea is probably cheaper but not sure if the power bank will survive the heat and sun in summer. Maybe if you wrap or shade it to insulate it. I would bring it in if the temps get in the 90’s plus.
Interesting thought about the heat. I’m in the desert… hmm I wonder now…
That's a good point...we're supposed to have a "hotter than normal" summer, and even in the shade, stuff bakes.
I have one of these and they are GREAT!!! I have it plugged into a waterproof 36800mAh solar-powered USB battery pack. Just assemble, fill, plug in, and enjoy the cascading water.

BRILLIANT!!! I live in Missouri, and we have a lot of shade from 80 yr old oak trees. I have bird baths around that the bigger birds love, but any solar fountains only run for about 4-6 hours. I can't wait to get a couple of these and see if my ruby-throated hummingbirds will use them!!

Hi Robbie, my solar fountains don’t work all day in sunny Arizona so I am excited to add the usb fountains. I’ve received the battery packs and discovered they had canceled my pump order. Amazon is delivering 3 pumps tomorrow. Can’t wait to see what I can create. I have many shaded areas where birds feed and they are going to love the fountains. Plus I’m making one for the outdoor Zebra finch flight cage. 🌵🐾Zoe🐾🐰🐣🐈⬛🐝🥑💖
Sometime they can get hot and stop working for a few hours, Gary had his be doing that in his garden. Glad you are getting your pumps, things do sell out when the season hits sometimes. I love the usb pumps😊 Your zebras should enjoy that too. Have fun 😊❤️

I noticed on Amazonian that they sell solar charging powerbanks so they will charge during the day in the sunlight and run all night long and recharge the next day.

We have cats, so I’m very familiar with this type of drinking fountain. The only problem is that where I live, we only get a few hummers at the feeders……and they come and go, chasing each other out of the yard 😳. It might take a long time for them to appreciate a fountain like this. But even if the hummers don’t use it, I’m sure the other birds will! (We currently have a brood of Eastern Bluebird fledglings, and the parents are giving them the grand tour of all we have to offer❣️)
