I have been unlucky as I got a defective unit, but apart from this, guys, THIS MONITOR IS A TOTAL DREAM. From multitasking to watching movies it has exceeded all my expectations.. it s a true luxury to be able to work with such a great piece of tech.. I heartily recommend it to everyone.. it s not cheap but money well spent!
Didn't find your video until after i placed my order. But ive had it for about a week now and i absolutely love it. Ive had a few gaming monitors in the past but this honsetly feels like my first high end monitor. I use it for work, school and a little bit of gaming. But the muliple layouts for multiple inputs and picture in picture mode is FANTASTIC. I have a MacBook, PC and my Nintendo Switch and i love the ability to see multiple inputs at once.
Thank you for the showcase and the monitor ticks all the boxes ! I"m on the fence to get it as I'm used to 32" ones and the vertical hight is important. How does this monitor hight compared to 27" or 32"? All the best :)
can you compare this monitor with samsung g9 or samsung viewfinity s6 or dell U3425QW. All these monitors are cheaper than U4025QW, what is the reason??
The answer is: It’s 120 HZ refresh. 5K IPS Black Panel. Built in KVM. Ports. Clean and good looking. Un- obnoxious curve. Very accurate colors. The question is, what doesn’t this have? OLED. A Super high PPI, but still very good. Super fast refresh rate and response time (because it’s not a gaming monitor).
@@mattmarkus4868sign. Sadly, you can only get a monitor of this size or at least similar and with more than 200 ppi only from Apple with the Pro Display XDR. But that doesn't have 120 Hz and costs more than three times as much.
First time I’ve seen the Display Manager KVM setup. Great to confirm that one PC can use HDMI and the other can use DP. Then both would also need a USB connection?
Hi there. My connectivity was one via Thunderbolt, and the other via HDMI and the USB cable. I am not familiar with a way to do HDMI and full size DP simultaneously.
Great first look! What size text scaling are you using? Are you able to demo the display zones at different text scaling sizes? Particularly interested in how usable 3 vertical display zones are. Thanks!
Thanks for watching. I'm typically at 125%. Good feedback for me to demo this in another video when I have more time with the display. I will say it's perfectly useable with 3 vertical display zones - think about Outlook, Browser, Teams side-by-side etc. If you are using Dell Display Manager, play around with Easy Arrange as well.
Awesome review, thank you for posting! Do you need to install the Dell software on both computers in order to use the USB KVM? I ask because someone on Reddit claims that at least only one computer needs to install the software.
Thanks for watching! I personally haven't played around with the software not installed, as it's critical to my workflow. I suppose you could test it! What's critical is ensuring that if you are using the DP/HDMI cable make sure you have the USB Type A plugged in for the "hub" functionality.
Correction about 13:14 Response time does not change the refresh rate of the monitor. People are saying a recent and powerful GPU is required to drive this screen at 120hz. Can you confirm on advanced display settings in Windows that it actually runs on 120 Hz?
The GPU driving the display needs to be able to support the 5K resolution and up to 120 Hz. Refer to your manufacturer specifications in order to determine the maximum performance of your GPU.
Nice video, maybe it would have been even better seeing it "in action" but very through overview! I just ordered mine and it is an agonizing wait till I can put my hands on it hehe... It is taking a month to enter production state and be shipped :(
You cannot turn off the Comfort View feature so the monitor is always yellow-ish. It is useless if you need a color accurate screen at a professional level. Returned mine within a day.
Would you recommend this monitor for someone working from home? Normally in the office I use two 24 inch monitors for multitasking... but at home I figured it would be better to buy this monitor maybe and split it into two screens? I was looking at the samsung OLED g9 but I feel like that's a little too big... and not sure about the PPI pixels per inch. Looking for a good display for excel and office work, with light gaming after work.
Showing the box it comes in, which is never used in daily operation, but No word or test on actually connecting his notebook to the screen, actually having 120 Hz and a 2nd screen daisy chained. The presenter only repeats the Dell commercial. In real life many notebook users including Mac book pros have issues in various user forums.
I assume I can run this on my MacBook Pro M3 Max at full 5K resolution with maximum 120Hz rate? If yes, with thunderbolt or HDMI? My MBP comes with HDMI 2.1.
One of the best reviews i have seen on any monitor. I am not a gamer or into visuals so much, but i do want something for trading with a mac Mini M2. Would it be compatible with a 2024 Mac Mini M2 for txt font and so forth. Thank you.
Yes, you as long as you are connecting via the thunderbolt cable, or the combo of DP/HDMI and USB B/A, the peripherals plugged into the USB ports on the monitor will carry over to your host device. It’s a “hub” in that sense.
Does it only switch 2 USB devices or all USB devices plugged? If for example I want to switch between 2 computers attached to the monitor a keyboard, mouse, webcam, and audio interface, will it work?
I got mine but I am experiencing HUGE problems with the thunderbolt connection with my Macbook Pro 2024... basically the thunderbolt connection drops at random times, or curiously enough when I click on some software on the Dell display (like google maps). HDMI works fine, but it is really a letdown not being able to use the thunderbolt port which save me the use of the power cord and also would allow me to use the monitor as a usb hub... Anyone else having the same problem?

I've been using this monitor for three days, and unfortunately, it's causing me terrible eye strain. Surprisingly, I never experienced headaches with its predecessor, which I also own. I'm not quite sure what's different now. I was eagerly anticipating this monitor, but it's left me incredibly disappointed. Eye strain has been an issue for me in the past, and this monitor seems to exacerbate it.
@@scottbrown7071 using it for work. I tried turning on auto brightness and manually lowering the brightness but that hasn’t seem to help. The next step is to lower the color temperature in the color settings.
Just sucks I cant justify to buy Dell products anymore, especially laptops. XPS Line is ruined, Latitude line is too expensive for what you get as a prosumer / 1 man biz. Pricing is the worst, over 3K euros here for that same XPS with a decent 2024 config. I guess this monitor is ok if priiced around 1500 euros.

The best decision will probably be to forego a few ppi and choose a larger monitor with a higher refresh rate and for much less money.
