Which plugin do you use for the drums though?
@@apoplexiamusic This was Mixwave Lorna Shore
@@apoplexiamusicoh yeah my dude, good to see you, I know you are an early adopter of II II II II 🤜🤛
Nickleback riff goes the hardest
Gonna have to agree
Ironic, isn't it?
@@SamBrockmann they're secretly metal heads who write some of the best songs on the radio
Definitely not true
@@goobingtons , are you deaf? It is true. The other riffs were very boring.
Heaviest Drop A# Riffs
0:01 Engine 45
0:16 Mr. Highway
0:35 Embedded
0:58 Alligator Blood
1:20 The Heretic Prevails
1:47 Dead Man's Chest
2:04 Native Blood
2:41 This Means War
2:56 10 Signs You Should Leave
3:17 Carbomb
Next: Drop D#, Drop F#, Drop G# and Drop D 8 string guitar Heaviest Riffs 🙏😊🙏
ost doom dark age?
Dude idc what anybody says Nickleback has some incredible riffs. That's why they get stuck in your head for the next 3 days every time you hear one
Alligator Blood is peak metalcore era BMTH. Metalcore in general imho. Love Sempiternal but There Is A Hell will always be my favorite. Fantastic playing Andrew!
Anthem final breakdown riff would have been good from that album too
Visions too…. That is one heavy mfer
facts dude
Their absolute best album imo. Heavy riffs with beautiful synths, without they super modern metalcore production
Drop a# has always been my favorite. Deeper than drop B and C (obviously) but more versatile and easier to be upbeat than drop A and can get those heavy chugs in there
In Flames - Take This Life seems to be missing
had no idea nickelback where chill like that
It's hilarious how the Nickelback riff, you know, a band we never would associate with metal, is actually the best one.
Maybe because most of the others riffs are just breakdowns?
@@TheAlex4019 , that's my point.
@@SamBrockmannyeah because he picked songs with good riffs and played breakdowns.
Wrong.
@@goobingtons , wait, so what you're saying is, he didn't play the parts of the song that we actually care about? 🤣😂
Some honourable mentions: Erra - Hybrid Earth, Like Moths To Flame - Over the Garden Wall, After The Burial - Lost in The Static
Hybrid Earth is always where my mind goes when I think of drop A#
Hybrid Earth rips, wish I had thought of that one haha
Think ATB might be in A# Standard on a 7 string if I'm being pedantic? Correct me if I'm wrong though!
@@phobos7176 You are correct! The tabs I have seen and learned from have been in Drop A# on a 6 string, works with both
Dead man’s chest just brings me back to when I’d go with my buddys surfing in the winter in 40 degree water lol
The faces Andrew makes while slaying the chugs are great 😂. You're an awesome musician, Andrew!
Literally read the title and was instinctively like "Mr. Highway."
Not disappointed
Out of all your drop whatever vids, this one has got to be my personal favorite - so many bangers!
0:22 I love the fact he puts his hand back behind the neck, only to play more open 0s.
Alligator blood is a great pick but the outro riff to anthem is the heaviest riff on that album, especially since it was a tempo change leading into it ahh still love it to this day
parkway drives early stuff was amazing.
I love that Jackson
Baritone with a killswitch
I didn't have Nickleback pegged as tuning this low. Awesome.
Chad uses a 7 string and Ryan uses a baritone on several songs. Hell most of their early stuff is in drop c and they used drop b on the “heavier” focused songs
@@twiztidlife66 Thats cool, I didn't know that.
@@donbishop6994 I just found out a few years back and it threw me for a loop. I knew some of it sounded low but I didn’t realize how low until I looked it up. I think I was looking up how to play Burn It To The Ground and it showed tabs for a 7 string and I was like that’s wrong entirely. I then looked up them playing it live and sure enough, he had a 7 string Gibson Explorer in his hand
CARBOMB! One of the best songs you could've seen live back then. As Blood Runs black may have been the been the best heavy show back then. I'd say animals as leaders, but they weren't 'heavy' just absolutely amazing lol
That shadows of intent riff was tasty!! Love the content.
Hell yeah Silent Planet. I'm pretty sure I left in the middle of them playing that song at Warped Tour to go buy all their albums at their merch table immediately haha
That was funny closing with Emmure and The Acacia Strain back to back
Badass shit! My favorite tuning for sure
Sybreed is an honourable mention, too (especially Rusted, Doomsday Party, No Wisdom Brings Solace, and Permafrost)
I have my tele tuned like this. The bridge pickup makes it sound amazing with the overdrive
Tele? Drop A#? I didn’t think it could handle the gauge needed to play in those low tunings. Mine is made for D Standard.
such a brutal tuning
Favorite tuning, by far. So many bands with gnarly riffs in this tuning (In Flames, Bury Your Dead, Sevendust, just to name a small sample of others not on this list)
This Means War is unironically legit. Shame they didnt write more like that.
By far my favorite drop tuning to play in!
I love this tuning. It's so much fun to play in.
There could have been 10 of lees riffs on here those BMTH days were peak man
Mind boggling that Diary of Jane was not here.
Cool list. My top 3 for this tuning are:
1. My Ticket Home - Hot Soap
2. Darke Complex - One of Us
3. Ocean Grove - Intimate Alien
My Ticket Home is so good
Acacia strain is the meanest
I saw a thing that was like “The Acacia Strain: What a felony assault charge sounds like” and it’s so true
Amidst the Bloodshed by I Declare War and Carnal Repercussions by Salt the Wound are both albums in A# full of many catchy and fun riffs
Ah my new 7 string's arriving soon, good timing 🤘🏻
The interlude to Pinball Map by In Flames is my favorite Drop A# riff ever
Now that there are 10 strings down tuning or drop tinkng to G# CAN be arbitrary.
G#1 tuning cam be reached the follwing ways
1. Down tuning 6 string (E by 8 semitones)
2. down tuning the 7th string (B1) by 3 semi tones
3. G#1 is also up tuning the 8th string (F#1) by 2 semitones (frets)(notes)
HERE DOWN YOUR STRINGS snap
4. G#1 is also possible by tuning the 9th string (C#1) up by 7 semitones
5. by tuning the 10th string (G#0) up by 12 semintones aks one octave
If talking about tyning to G#0
1. Standard tunkng on 10th string
2. Down tune 9th string (C#1) by 5 semintones
Here diwn and your strkng FALL OFF
3. Down tune 8th string (F#1) by 10 semitones
4. Down tune 7th string (B1) by 15 semitones (octave plus 3 notes)
5. Down tune 8th string (E2) by 20 semi toned (over 1.5 octaves)
Anything by Sulhpur Aeon
Salt the Wound
Three Fountains by August Burns Red
Deliver me by Parkway Drive.
Underutilized tuning, and badass tuning.
Great playing Andrew!
There is no better guitar for metal than a Jackson
bury your pain by like moths to flames should‘ve been on here! or thoughts and prayers by MiW. 🔥
I was thinking preservation of hate
man Embedded goes HARD
I rediscovered JFAC recently and have been vibing thay album loads
Favorites are in flames - take this life (around 0:18) and the squealy riff in wage war - death roll
Fucking awesome! I love this sound so much
Drop A and B are probably my favorite tunings
So sick to see the JFAC love. Genesis is still one of my favorite albums ever.
I see that you found the armrest on that Jackson Kelly! 😎
Dude you rock, I'm stoked that you actually saw this. I've been watching you for a long time. Thank you for your service to mine and others' sanity. 💪
You forgot the Sevendust riffs! Legendary “All I See Is War” riffs to our community, bro. Hope your remember next time. Luv u 🫶🏻
Awesome list, if there is an A# part 2 we need some like moths to flames
Sybreed - "Decoy" and "Challenger". 🤘
Surprised that pillars of creation by keith merrow didnt make the cut, one of tbe best riffs ever imo
Loving them Archie Drums
ALL, OF THE SONGS 🎵, 🎵🎵🎶🎶,,,LOVING,,,♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️
Drop A# is like the Bb of tunings
I am anticipating the Drop Ab riffs video so much
ADMIRAL ANGRY!!!!!!! Ahhhhh!!!!!
Obv:
- Periphery
- Car Bomb
- Polaris
- Intervals
Bit of an oddball one but I'd love to see Beauty by Tigercub in there. Not reaaaally metal, but it's groovy as all hell and still pretty crushing, especially live. Terribly underappreciated band in general, and they played a huge role in selling me on lower tunings.
My favorite riffs in this tuning? Whole Sybreed discography ;) I was expecting at least one song from them or from In Flames but at least i found some new good riffs.
I like Parkway Drive band from Australia. For example I love Deliver me song.👍👍👍🤘🤘🤘🤘😝😝😝😝😝
It's a drop A# tuning too.
No like Moths to Flames for drop A# is criminal Mr. Baena
Love lmtf
And black lagoon
Bean is unholy godhead of riffs….
AND HE SINGS!
Embedded and Carbomb! YES!
Get it Sir Shredder!
I think we need some PeelingFlesh heaviest riffs 🥰
oooo! hearing embedded again made my shorts tight!
Im glad to see silent planet getting some love here
You're Going Down by Sick Puppies. Their only song in this tuning, and the fact that they used an ES-335 guitar for that is just crazy.
More like D R O P AHHYEAH - this tuning + II II is extra spicy heat 🔥🌶
🥵🥵🥵
Amaranthe has some sick drop A#-ers
C'était trop lourd 💪👌😲
Embedded is an underrated song
Would have loved to see some Sybreed in there, I'm sure they played drop A#
I was expecting to see some Like Moths To Flames?!
I had You Won't Be Missed in here originally but they only play "the riff" for like 10 seconds so I took it out
That's an interesting kick
No breaking benjamin?
No chevelle?
Sick list btw
Embedded is still so damn good
Maddd riffs and G O R G E O U S guitar
Drop A# is 5 strings higher than B standard appart the 6 dropped .
Considering that the SoI was just the breakdown riff, how about that new single "Flying The Black Flag"? That band never misses with riffs
I like your guitar man. Is it a beritone?
Fit for a king, erra, for the fallen dreams.
Doesn’t erra usually play in drop f#?
@@DiscardatRandom they're earlier stuff does
need a part 2 with vaalbara or hybrid earth by erra 🔥
Love you Andrew :)
Cool! We'd love to add your music on our music blog!
No In Flames??
The sad part is that the Nickelback riff was one of the better riffs lmao
Nothing sad about it
@@airguitar1321 true lol it’s more comment on how generic all this deathcore stuff is. Obviously people like it, but it is just so sterile to me.
@@brandonbryson3317there was one deathcore band there lol. He just picked a bunch of breakdowns for some reason. If he picked more than a breakdown for Shadow of Intent and Parkway Drive it would have been the worst riff in the video.
@@goobingtons yeah I guess the riffs he chose just reminded me mostly what I hear in deathcore. lol I’m just tired of all the breakdown heavy music. I was in a band like that in my early 20s and it was fun…but man between these bands and all the locals where I live…I’ve heard every variation of a breakdown that exists about 1000 times over.
Alligator Blood is so geewwwd
“Out From Under” by Red shouldve made the list 🔥
Dying Wish tune to Drop A# and pretty much any of their riffs could fit here no problem.
Also Brown Noise > Carbomb lowkey
what happened to the warriors?
I definitely didn't expect Nickelback in this one 😄
i love the sound of a# from cannibal corpse sybreed aeon and trivium
Not sure why but the audio seems really low for this video, and my volume is maxed out.
Please make a Heaviest Drop F# guitar riffs
I was just listening to JFAC’s genesis for the first time…wowzers the worlds a heluva place
Surprised I didnt see hear any In Flames or I Declare War
No Roots Bloody Roots from Sepultura???
When b standard is considered is considered a “criminally high tuning” you may have only ever played in low tunings because I can think of plenty of songs theatre heavy as a donkey dick in drop c and higher 🤷
Anthem final breakdown riff would have been another great BMTH there is a hell riff…..
What string gauge do you use?
No Gideon riffs? That’s a surprise
Engine 45 ❤
