    This is a communicator. No screaming, no unintelligible verbage, just communicating in a manner very easy to listen to. Great talent.

    Remember listening to Charlie on AFN in Germany back in the late 80s. Great voice.

    So good. Saw him at a radio convention in the early 90's, but was afraid to approach as I was too impressed to bother him. He had all the basics for being a great jock...voice, intelligence, and humor. RIP.

    I was studying in Soesterberg, Holland and on the radio was AFN, American Forces Network. Every morning Charly Tuna. For me this was a new way of radio, new music but he made me feel like he was talking to me personally.. One of the greatest voices, lots of humour and a great ear for music.

    What a great set of pipes as we say in the biz this great guy had...for guys like myself he will be sadly missed...we all who were in the on air radio broadcasting biz from big markets to even some of the small ones here as I worked . I myself will miss this outstanding great radio talent. ..his voice for me will remain strong in both my heart and mind in memories of what a great guy he was....R.I.P. Charlie..and now your on the air a Big listener God...keep them dancing and laughing Charlie....

      I spend MORE than my adult life (48 years) in radio (started as a teenager) and Tuna on his absolute worst day is 10,000 times better than I'll ever be!

      Bob Ale I retired, moved 3,000 miles to the U.S. Mountain West about a year ago and bought a ranch house on several acres in the middle of nowhere. Just me, my wife, my dog, my pickup and miles and miles of miles and miles.

    this is wierd cause i worked on a K-Hits radio station but not in the L.A. market it was in Albuq. N.M. wow im soooooooooooooo confused however the Legendary Charlie Tuna of the old 70s L.A. radio station KHJ is very cool too. Thanx for posting.

      His name was Paul Johnson from NBC news in Los Angeles. He passed away in 2010 from cancer.
