- What a CRAZY start to Daytona Bike Week 2024!! It's only day 1 down here on the Indian FTR's, and we've already rode ALL day since 8am, been to an Indian Ambassador's ride, whipped around in a Roush Edition Slingshot (?!), seen madness at the Daytona International Speedway, gotten absolutely DRENCHED in rain, been pulled over, AND MORE! If this is just day 1...I don't know if I'm ready for the rest of the week 😅😂

Being on a motorcycle brings an awesome sense of community.
Ya can become friends with people for just 5-10 minutes one time, OR run into them spontaneously but unplanned enough ya got an impromptu riding buddy every morning commute.
+ the gas money it takes to drive my 20mpg car 300 miles vs. a KLR650 (53mpg), a Honda Shadow (33mpg), or a Rebel 250 (never tracked it well, it was up jn the 70's though) is unreal.
@@MotoDash1100 I think I’m gunna do it for the scl500. I’ve been watching Burch for a few years and that bike couldn’t seem more perfect for me.
@@noah22261 Yeah! The SCL500 is nice middle-ground between:
A rebel 500 with a lower seat height
A KLR650 with a taller seat height and looks more dirtbike-y
And a Rebel 250 or such with a carb that you just slap tires on and a high exhaust and call it a day.
SCL500 seems like an awesome bike that blends into whatever ya want it for without having dirtbike styling or ground clearance limitations like some cruisers would have.
+ SCL has .2 gal more than the 3.0 gal Rebel but still has Rebel 500 (iirc) and should get similar gas mileage, but with more range. With a 3.2 gal tank you can run 3 gallons of distance, so roughly 180miles before ya got .2 (12miles) left.
(Worth noting, there's only one SCL500 on Fuelly (website for real world crowd sourced MPG data) and it's under CL500 so it could be a Euro model since in the U.S. it's the same bike but called SCL500 because something something Mercedes has a car and maybe trademark on CL500 name)
All around, get what you want at end of the day, but SCL500 isn't a bad choice imo, definitely go sit on various bikes at a Honda dealership if you haven't already. I took my cousin to one about 3 weeks ago since I plan to get a bike again but want something he'd feel comfortable learning on too. We were able to sit on every Honda there except Trail 125 due to them not having that model. Motorcycle dealerships are totally fine and tolerating/accommodating for people who want to just look around and sit on bikes and come back some other time to buy one.

It's so fucking awesome to watch you in my home town! I know every square inch in Daytona/Ormond and Flagler Beach 🏖️ I was there on the first day of bike week but then I had to leave unfortunately.

10:28 Shit, well hey at least I think ya learned how/why motorcycle-only transportation is viable (aside from anti-motorcycle laws like being a No Fault state if you're in a car, and being a Negligent state if you're on a motorcycle) in Florida..
Because ya can't actually tell if it'll be a good dry day or not, so why not ride either way? 😂 Haha.. I am serious. Can't fuss about a rainy day if it suddenly rains for 5 minutes stops, and again for 30, ya already in it hahaha..
Yea if I lived in FL I’d need to seriously reconsider all of my thoughts on fender deletes 😂 We got SOAKED even after the rain was gone, hence all the brown splatter on my shiny new hi vis hoodie lmao
