Green Day and Linkin Park changed things at the end of the 90s and in the early 2000s. I cannot imagine a world without Green Day in it.
And blink
@@jonathanfriedman7430 And Rage Against the machine
Not really, Green Day as early 90's and the back at the new Millennium with this song but the 90's in general speaking was Oasis 100%
Nickelback DEFINITELY did too. For the best
I don't want to imagine a world without Green Day in it
My daughter grew up loving Green Day. She’s all grown up, now. Billy Joe Armstrong, the lead singer, started following her band on Instagram and messaged her. She was thrilled.
that is super sick, your daughter is obviously doing something awesome.
I saw green day and that's all I clicked immediately. This band, along with Linkin Park, I was constantly playing them. They are deep and personal. That's the vibe I get every time still. When a song can make you feel through how they play, that's a good band. The sorrow, anger and getting all the negativity out of you. These were songs were my release from you feelings when you're going through high school and adolescents. This is my personal opinion, not sure if I expressed how I felt correctly. You're all doing amazing, I love listening to your content and conversations. They brighten my day. If you haven't please take a look at No More Sheep by Knox Hill, he is an independent artist that has some awesome music
The very first sentence is exactly what I did. Didn't look at the song or anything. And actually same here with Linkin Park, still to this day I listen to Linkin Park and Chester on a daily basis. Chester got me and a lot of others through some tough years in high school.
Edit: Kind of Ironic that they mentioned Chester during their reaction. Because I wrote my comment before watching the video.
For me it was Linkin Park no matter what I faced in life their music got played happy til sad times. Chester was voice of a generation. Green day like this song I really liked but for me LP has that personal connection. 2 great bands
@@richardyoung6274 - how about house of pain? they were great too. at least that one song.
@@moonchild848 pack it up, pack it in, let it begin 🙌🙌🙌
Yeah Green Day's music was and is the absolute tits it just sucks that their lead Billy Joe armstrong's brain fell out over Donald Trump. He's one of the geniuses constantly talking about moving out of America because it sucks here. Which is surprising because the band Green Day travels all over the world so they are fully aware that there is no better place to be than right here.
The strength of Green Day's songs are that _anyone_ can easily sing along to them.
Thats true
"BasketCase" and "Brain Stew" are awesome Green Day songs. High energy
❤
"Brain Stew" all the way
Basket case is my favorite from them
Longview is the best Green Day song ever dude
@@mitchelltyler5972that's the first riff I learned on guitar.
"Basket case" and "when I come around" are 2 of their best songs
Stuck with me
I love that y'all thought this was from 2010 or later. It was released in 2004, a decade after their first breakthrough album. This band is beyond iconic, especially if you've seen them live and in person.
I would listen to it front to back on repeat when it was released..... I always said it was a rock opera, then low and behold, it was on Broadway 😂❤😂
Before my youngest son passed away from cancer in late 2020, Boulevard of Broken Dreams was one of his favorite songs. I love seeing you guys jamming to the greats.
im sorry for your loss 💗
Im happy you’re able to cherish and share listening to one of his favorite songs still and know so many others share a passion for Green Day’s musical expression as well 💗💗💗 have a beautiful day
I love the Cartier family! Just a bunch of all American guys, up for anything, they remind me of my 70s guys, my dad, my brothers, their enthusiasm is infectious!
I think American idiot is the best message of any rap rock or any song by them on the war in Iraqi at the time because they were first and the most vocal and gave confidence for others to talk about it months but mostly years later. Lupe talked about it once
The fact that you dudes love this song, and all the musical nuances, makes me love you even more!
I love that you all love Green Day! Love all your reaction videos. Takes me back through my childhood.
Green Day make absolute bangers. They are even better live 😍😍
Green Day puts on a FABULOUS concert!! I mean, it’s been like 12 years, but still one of my favorite concerts.
This group of humans are the best music” critiquers” on the internet. It does not matter which genre of music they listen to, they are unbiased and really give the music a true listen! HATS OFF FROM YOUR BIGGEST CANADIAN FAN!🇨🇦
I can't believe you were right there, about to listen to Holiday and switched it up, heartbreaking lmao
My first concert 22 years ago, GREEN DAY and BLINK 182..... amazing. The 90's were when they were really popular. They were considered punk rock 🧷 when they started. They have evolved so much over the years. Check out their early albums you will be shocked 😲. They definitely have a large following .
My kids were born mid90s, we used to enjoy listening to Green Day together. Had their live concert on DVD.
I enjoy Green Day and Linkin Park, Thank you for the videos you guys do, I have watched quite a few now and I like them all. Again, thank you, I started following not to long ago but glad I have you all to watch now.
My Uncle and his girlfriend took me to the greenday dookie concert when I was like 10 lol they put a few holes in my baggy jeans at the knee and drew flies and poop 💩 on them lol they were amazing live and they even performed the secret song that you could only hear if you had the album it was sung by the drummer.
It was one of the greatest days of my life!
I was a huge fan ever since, so that’s just shy of 3 decades now 🤙🏻🙌🏻
Great choice guys!
Hope you get to Aerosmith “Cryin” & “Crazy” videos
@@TheGoddessChannel hahaha yes! Remember when they brought out the Nerf soaker gun and started spraying the crowd? Lol
"I was all by myself..."
@@celliet5780 …all by myself… lol
Idk how old you all are, but I’m constantly amazed by the music/artists you’ve never heard of!!!! I’m glad that you are broadening your horizons, though! Keep going! 🙂
They are 25 at max. Not beyond that
It makes me excited everytime they listen to an new artist
@@tejasviratmishra5168 Can't be 25 - they'd've been 8 years old in '04-06, and American Idiot was impossible to escape back then.
@@HowlingWolf518 I mean it mostly depends on ur surrounding too. Ur environment, cultural scenario. Like I never heard of biggie or tupac but I knew Eminem (am from india). There are people who never heard Eminem when his songs and albums were impossible to escape from. Plus green day how ever iconic the band is and was..... That music genre is pretty much for white kids. I bet they won't even know who Enrique iglesia is. Plus I am saying they are under 25 based on a video I saw of them. They gave away the age bracket. I am 27 and like sometimes even I wonder how come they don't know these artists.
@@tejasviratmishra5168 Right, but they're literally from the States.
Up here in Canada, we've got these rules that a certain amount of media has to be Canadian (because we're next door and they could swamp our music scene with generic pop songs)... even then, in between all the Avril Lavigne and Simple Plan, you'd keep hearing Eminem, Eminem, Green Day, Linkin Park, Eminem. And if _we_ couldn't avoid it, it'd be even harder in America.
They are awesome! If you ever go to a concert, mid-way through, fans on the floor hold up signs of what instrument they play and the band calls them up to play with them and give the instrument to them to have. Super cool
Worth checking out "She" live in Chicago 1994. Absolute golden era of Green Day
2004, my guy. This band has spanned decades. Plenty there to love, no matter how "less than" theyve become. American Idiot will always be their masterpiece imo - and I say that as someone whose favorite record of theirs is Nimrod. Pop punk will never be better than it was in the early 00s, and this record defined the genre.
Green day is one of the best bands ever! my mom used to party with them back in the day and she loves them like as people she says they’re amazing!
LOVE LOVE Greenday!, his lyrics are epic Imo Billie jo, the frontman who NEVER AGES!!
Dude looks so young and has the same energy he did when he was 20. Saw them live in KC a few years ago and its the best performance I've ever seen.
When September ends, basketcase and Jesus of suburbia were my other favourites 😊
Love Green Day. One of my favourite bands.
Eaely Greenday is my preference. Basketcase, Longview, She, Welcome to Paradise. So much nostalgia.
Ngl yall reacting to the music I love and realizing how good it is helps me relive when I also discovered how good it was
Thanks...
I recently saw green day in concert and they are absolutely amazing so much so at my brothers funeral "when September ends" was played
i saw them probably like 2018 or 2019 and had a great time
Green Day live is unbelievable! Check out Holiday live, you won't regret it. Love what y'all do, you have fun and put out such positivity. We need more of that!
This is my favorite Green Day song!! They have a lot of classics tho like "When I Come Around" and "Time of Your Life"
Basket Case and Longview are also good songs to check out as well!
Jesus of Suburbia is easily their best song imo.
Time of your life is actually titled as "Good Riddance."
I love Green Day, got to see them live this past June when they came to London
Started listening to Green Day in 1995 & I still play them for my grandbabies. They really are an exceptional group. They have a song for everything.
I wasn’t a big fan of Green Day but I got the chance to see them live when they opened for Blink 182. They were so good I was so impressed how tight their sound was.
Green Day is from California... formed in the late 80's as a punk rock trio, they recorded their 1st album '39/smooth' in 1990 on an indie punk label... By 1991, the band featured Billie Joe Armstrong (vocals & guitar), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tre Cool (drums) when they released the 2nd album 'Kerplunk!' in 1991. They had no intention of making a big career, but after Nirvana's success, the offers to sign w/ a major label kept coming... so they eventually signed w/ Reprise Records in 1993.
Releasing their 3rd album, first major record, 'Dookie' in 1994, Green Day suddenly found themselves on MTV and the record took off commercially, selling 10 million copies in the US alone... Unfortunately, their peers in the punk rock roots branded them 'sellouts' and shunned them from the scene... Frustrated by the attacks, Green Day released 'Insomniac' in 1995 as a retort - it would 2 million copies in the US.
The band released 'Nimrod' in 1997, and included the acoustic track 'Good riddance (Time of your life)' basically cutting all ties to their punk rock roots and embracing the future... Green Day's 2000 album 'Warning' was a mellower record, and it sold only a half million copies.
Hoping to take a new direction, Green Day was inspired by the turmoil of post-9/11 America to record a concept album 'American idiot' in 2004, which was a huge comeback for the band, selling over 6 million copies... The next album '21st century breakdown' in 2009 was another concept album, which sold 1 million copies.
In 2012, Green Day released a trio of studio albums - "Uno"..."Dos"... and 'Tre'... They would return in 2016 w/ the album 'Revolution radio' which hit #1 on the charts... Their latest album "Father of all MF's" was released in 2020, and went in a more pop rock direction than past records.
They were first called Sweet Children in 86/87
Correct formed in rodeo California the drummer was from El Cerrito but left to pursue college they found Tre cool soon after pretty sure he's from redwood rest is history. Mike and Billie are from rodeo definitely legends in my hometown basically only thing we're proud of
Heeeey I live in Massachusetts now but I'm originally from Louisiana and I attended UL-Lafayette for a while! Love your reactions and it's just kinda cool to see people from where I'm from!
3 guys, making all that music…top 5 band for sure!!!
Green day live was one of the best shows I’ve been to!
Green Day all time great!!!!!!
Everytime I hear this it take me back to my teen years!
Saw them live at the rose bowl in LA, they legit might sound better live then their records. Absolutely unreal live performers, y’all should react to the live versions🔥🔥
I've loved listening to music with you guys since I first saw you. I'm in a cover band make 120 from a gig but honestly to play guitar for even that is worth it. Rock on guys and do more music videos!!!
I'm so glad you enjoyed greenday. more please
wake me up when September ends is one of their best songs too
Y'all got a badass lineup today!
this was a great album i am so glad i have a sealed copy of this! pure gold!
My sibling is my sister, whom I Love deeply. However,I always wondered what having a brother would be like…you fellas make me envious and regretful… god bless guys!
love your youtube channel. you 4 reactions are so pure and authentic. greetings from germany
You guys should check My Chemical Romance - The Ghost of Me, I think it was called. Similar style of music, powerful song and a powerful clip.
Brandon. listens to all kinds of music mad respect
Green day are epic! You guys should check out the green day concert in the UK we’re the whole crowd sang Queen. The best part was green day we’re getting ready to come out an they put bohemian rhapsody on in the back ground (this song should be the UKs national anthem) the crowd sang it so perfectly and so loud green day let them finish before they came out. It’s for sure worth watching
what is so damn weird is that I've basically had Green Day off my playlist for like 10+ years now. I used to love their stuff. Felt like they got over played and hadn't really thought of them in a while. I come here and it's just freaking awesome to see these guys experience for the first time. Makes me wonder why I left them behind. Green Day is back on the playlist... Nice to re-experience that high that only good music can produce...
Some of their more mainstream songs like Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, Basket Case and When I Come Around are so overplayed
Saw these guys in Mobile Alabama back in 2017 it was the best show I've ever seen lots of pageantry lots of pyrotechnics They put on a badass show
You guys are doing amazing with all the diverse content you’re reacting to. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You guys should check out "The Offspring" - "You're Gonna Go Far, Kid" or "Bad Habbit"
Omfg my little Green Day heart 🖤🖤🖤. One my favorite bands got into them when I was 10
Omg please you guys have to get into Fall Out Boy!!!! Seeing your reaction to their sing with Big Sean would be amazingggggg
Green Day got me through college! Their "Dookie" album was my background music, studying for finals
I saw the Louisiana and fleur de lis and had to subscribe!! Geaux Saints!!
They made a CD with guitar hero or playstation or wi around 2009. I had the 2 guitars, drums and mike for guitar hero for my 3 sons. The 4 of us played this non stop 😍 sons were 14, 11 and 9 , we jammed. Great memories you brought back to me. Thank you!!
I dropped dead when you said I only know the rock songs from video games🤣🤣
They are out of this world live!!!
His name is Billy Joel. Y'all should check out his meltdown at the awards show. For someone who's been relevant since the last 80's, he was not wrong. Just goes to show, that the music industry doesn't care about talent. Just what's "in". He smashes his guitar on stage and Calls out Justin Bieber. It's awesome and truth.
I love punk music! Rock on Billy!
Green Day has its roots in punk rock….you should check out some other bands. The Clash “Should I Stay or Should I Go” and the Ramones “I Wanna Be Sedated” are some great songs to check out 😁
Yes, The Ramones!
I’m am ole classic rock/country kinda guy. I remember looking at a greed day greatest hits cd and decided to give it a listen. Not bad at all. I was impressed.
You Guy's are so funny 😁 😂 in this moment, Maria Brink. You will love her music and her vocals.
I think you need a 65 yrs old Norwegian dude (old guy) as a subscriber.
Love to see your videos.
You can't go wrong with Green Day. Ever.
This song is so damn good! At the time when this came out I would say I walk alone. My Girl who eventually became my wife would say what about me? Of course u walk beside me I would answer. Eventually she passed away n since then I walk alone.
I love Green Day I used to be so obsessed with this song ❤
this album is from 1994. I was 18. Man those days...
Basketcase is a must!
Real talk I f*cks with you guys real talk. Most other reactors
that I have unsubscribed to
Only do rap and I listen to rap and only rap. But I like to see you guys enjoying and pointing out just good fucking music. That’s what up no capping. Keep up the good work. I am spreading your name in Baltimore. One ☝️
green day is one of a handful of bands where i own everything they’ve put out. they’re legendary, and this is one of their mid-level songs imo. they have a huge catalog, and were voted into the rock and roll hall of fame the first year they were eligible. definitely check out more of their stuff.
My son named his car Dookie, after title of Green Day's debut CD.😎
Wasn't Kerplunk before Dookie?
@@republicofcasuals and 39/smooth before that, Dookie wss their 3rd record, 1st major label

Green Day is from Berkeley/Oakland. My buddy in highschool grew up a few doors down the street from Billie Joe Armstrong (lead singer). We saw him strolling through the farmers market one day in the summer of 1996. It was crazy, nobody seemed to recognize him.
Love green day ❤️ I'm from there hometown and didn't find out until meeting them in middle school and was a fan way before. Love them bay area legends for sure, rodeo and Crockett know what's up
I remember being on a plane to Florida on my first family vacation when I was 5 years old back in 2004 (back when MTV actually played music videos still) and this shit instantly had me gripped. I’ve loved Green Day since. Check out holiday next.
Like the last year they played a video haha
I love Green Day broken boulevard they got a lot of good songs 🇺🇸
ya yo more green day shit gives me hella throwback vibes
I can’t believe they will have their 30th anniversary next year. I was 19 when debut cd Dookie came out. Daaaaamn.
How you guys haven't done a Rage Against the Machine reaction yet just mind boggles me!!!
Gotta do "Welcome to paradise" or "Longview" for some real Green Day
If you guys are from Louisiana youve heard Greenday. They sing “The Saints are Coming”. They and U2 played the concert reopening the Superdome after Katrina before Saints v Falcons
Love Greenday, love that you like it too
I'm happy to see these kinda videos since growing up I was always told it was weird for them to see a black guy enjoying alternative music, so thanks for helping to normalise it for us black people who don't want to constantly listen to r&b, rap and chart music
I know I comment a lot, but I like you guys and love that you are expanding your horizons. You should check out the band Weezer and Fall Out Boy. I saw both of them and Green Day at the Hella Mega Tour in Detroit last year and it was the most amazing concert I've ever been to. On another note you guys should check out The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Cherry Poppin Daddies. The first is Ska and the second is Swing.
Oh hell yes, now we’re talking. I’ve been listening to Green Day for more than 25 years. Hella nostalgia. This song is a soft, very commercial hit though. You’ll love these songs and we’d love reactions: Basket Case, Walking Contradiction, Brain Stew, Longview, Jesus of Suburbia.
I was 15 when that song came out. Good time in life
I always feel like im walking alone this song is my mindstate 24/7. This song is a masterpiece and sad at the same time .
One of you guys really like the drums and guitars along with that bass line bouncing between both instruments. That person would enjoy The Smiths.
this is my fav song from them i heard it several times and i do like a couple songs
My Aunt took me to my first concert, Sting, and I, in turn, took my niece to her first concert, Green Day!!!!
Boulevard of broken dreams and Oh love are my favorite ...I love green day
Saw them in concert! They are so freaking amazing!!
I think the first concert I went to was: Green Day, redman n methodmad, stain, limp bizkit etc., n sum other ppl.. but the only ppl I really wanted to see was red n meth in line.. 99’?
Basket Case is my favorite song from Green Day! I mean they have a bunch of amazing songs, but I just love Basket Case.
