I find it funny how 'statistics' say a business has a 95% chance of going under within 5 years and at the same time we ask people "what is your 5 year plan" - people's lives change and so do their interests and commitments/priorities
I have made it 62 months with my restaurant . My sales are higher than I had planned when opening five years ago . I want to expand but still keep things simple and sweet. I have started making my own pizzas but I have worked at six different pizza restaurants over the last 50 years and have my own pizza recipes. And I have tried them over the past 4 years and people tell me it's the best pizza they have ever had. So I will go with it. I have a second location a block away from my bakery where is can expand.
cost of food is high employee tax is high and pay is low. Stress level of running pizza joint is beyond imagination. Average pizza business daily makes 800-1800 dollars. Good luck making a living..
What about a store being sold that was open for many years and the owner is retiring doing 12-14k a week without any marketing. Not too bad right specially if it’s family ran and u keep ur staff low
People are also very picky about their pizzas. A big chain can afford to give people credits and refunds all day but not an independent franchise. This is why you don't build a pizza chain in certain areas because people will try to get stuff for free.
