In this first part video of a 4-part blues series, I teach you how to break out of stiff, robotic ukulele playing and sound musical by teaching you how to strum the 12-bar blues. You learn two ways to sound "bluesy" in your ukulele playing and how to strum with feeling and groove.
You don't have to be advanced to start playing the blues. With the right path, you can begin no matter where you find yourself in your ukulele journey.
In preparation for the launch of my upcoming course "Blues Tricks", it's my goal in this 4-part blues series to show you that you can do this and it is possible in this video. In Blues Tricks, I teach you how to strum, solo, and play blues songs on ukulele in as early as twelve weeks.
    You'll learn things like:
    1. How to break out of stiff, robotic ukulele playing
    2. How to add variety and musical expression to strumming the 12-bar blues in all its variations
    3. How to solo across the fretboard with multiple articulation techniques
    4. How to play well-loved blues songs on ukulele and perform them with that bluesy feel
    And much more...
Registration for Blues Tricks is opening soon. Click this link to get on the early-bird waitlist and you’ll be the first to know when I open enrollment:

Thank you once again! Really clear instructions and you make playing the ukulele feel achievable. Not sure I'm adding swagger to my playing 🤔 but maybe I'm too uptight British! 🤣🤣 I'll keep trying though... 🙏

This is great but it's not how he strummed it in the first tutorial. Does anybody know that strum pattern?

Hey Michael! If you click over to my channel page here on RUclips, watch the latest "Part 2" video and in the description of that video I include a link to the backing track. The backing track is handy for that Part 2 video where I teach you the blues scale.
