You're ready to learn how to fingerpick solo on ukulele. Use the pattern from the previous lesson and play your first simple but expressive fingerstyle solo. In this Part 3 video of a 6-part fingerpicking series, I teach you how to come up with your own solos by taking a steady, consistent picking pattern and using chord variations up and down the fretboard.
Make sure you grab the bonus worksheet above to get a template and more tips and tricks for coming up with your own fingerstyle solos using this method!
In preparation for the launch of my upcoming course "Fingerpicking Tricks", my goal for this 6-part series is to show you that you can fingerpick the ukulele in a way you've always wanted. In Fingerpicking Tricks, I'll be showing you how to fingerpick 24 individual songs in four distinct styles in as early as twelve weeks.
You'll learn things like:
1. How to fingerpick the ukulele in a relaxed, smooth manner with correct technique
2. How to fingerpick the ukulele in four distinct styles including chord melody
3. How to play twenty-four fingerpicking songs and pieces-everything from the classics, blues, and modern songs to Beethoven, Bach, Aguado, Tárrega, and more
4. How to play expressively and find your "voice" without singing
And much more...

Thank you Brett for this excellent lesson. Everything is clear, simple and fun.
I substribed for getting the worksheet.
With you, fingerpicking does not deserve at all its reputation of difficult technique
I can't wait to go further in its limitless universe.
I love to hear that! I'm glad you enjoyed this lesson. Thanks for your comment!

Will do! Thanks for the feedback :)
That mustache looks dead on!!
Haha, thank you!
Thank you for this lesson, I appreciate your taking the time and effort to help others. I have a question--I have learning disabilities and the music and chords you show at the bottom of the screen is really confusing to me (I'm so sorry.) Is there a way you present this in a different way using only numbers (like numbering the chords 1 through 4) without the music notes? I hope you understand what I'm trying to explain :S Thank you and sorry!
Hey J W, reading ukulele tab can be really confusing! Check out my lesson here on how to read ukulele tab:

This can provide a nice starting point. Know that reading tablature is a learn as you go thing so don't be discouraged if it does come quickly.
@@UkuleleTricks Thank you so much! I will try to see if I can figure it out ^^
I sure would give the world to have more country song options. Especially the classics... I'd also love to see a good tutorial on Havana by Camila Cabello.
Thanks for the feedback! I love country and also love Camila too, so that could be fun.
Work sheet, please. I think I understand then have to listen again over and over.
Please send me the worksheet.
Going too fast, pls slow down
Make sure to watch the Part 1 and 2 videos to get up to speed! I breezed through a lot of stuff at the beginning of this Part 3 video that I covered more in the previous videos. If you have a specific question, please let me know so I can help.
