In this Part 2 video of a six-part series on fingerpicking solo, you learn the pattern you need to know to play your first fingerstyle solo on ukulele. You will take this pattern to play your first fingerstyle solo in the next lesson. I show you how to practice if fifteen minutes is all you have with the 15-Minute Play-to-Learn Method.
Fingerpicking solo isn't a walk in the park, but with the right steps, you can start fingerpicking your ukulele and really start to make progress. It's my goal to show you that you can do this and it is possible in this video.
In preparation for the launch of my upcoming course "Fingerpicking Tricks", my goal for this 6-part series is to show you that you can fingerpick the ukulele in a way you've always wanted. In Fingerpicking Tricks, I'll be showing you how to fingerpick 24 individual songs in four distinct styles in as early as twelve weeks.
You'll learn things like:
1. How to fingerpick the ukulele in a relaxed, smooth manner with correct technique
2. How to fingerpick the ukulele in four distinct styles including chord melody
3. How to play twenty-four fingerpicking songs and pieces-everything from the classics, blues, and modern songs to Beethoven, Bach, Aguado, Tárrega, and more
4. How to play expressively and find your "voice" without singing
And much more...

Thanks for the great video, lots for me to practice . Thanks also to my wonderful ukulele teacher Alice Bulmer in NZ who provided me with your details .
Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks Alice for putting in a good word!
I started playing ukulele with Brett as my first online instructor. If you’re serious about learning how to play ukulele in an organized and thorough manner, Brett’s teaching method is for you. It’s easy to jump around on RUclips and the Internet, learning from one teacher after another-you can learn chords, and basics and songs, but it’s tricky to put it all together in a meaningful way so that you can see your progress. Brett has a plan of instruction that is cohesive and builds on each lesson.
Thank you so much for your kind comment, Allyn! It's so great to have you as a student.
There is no doubt you have a superb knowledge, especially having produced your excellent Paperback guide. Respectfully however, I feel that players who are at this stage, could be put off by the fact that the Tutorial is far too long and could be cut in half to hold their attention. Users of Social media are prone to moving on to another site, which be a shame. We all have the ability to hit the replay button, so I sincerely hope you will appreciate my viewpoint. I’m speaking as a former TV Editor/Director Cameraman with a long International award-winning career. Otherwise a great opportunity once more in following your much respected advice.
Hi Brett what size of ukulele are you using and are this lesson good for any size of ukulele?
Hey Andrew, in this video, I'm using a tenor ukulele! Any ukulele will work so as long as you are in standard tuning GCEA. Personally, I like the tenor best for fingerpicking since there's added room and space in between frets.
@@UkuleleTricksTricks Thank you, I have a soprano that was given to me and finding it a bit small. However, I am enjoying how to play it but for sure going to look for either a concert or tenor.
😎😎👍👍😍😍
Thanks for watching, Cleo!
Bret do you offer this in a Guitar format?
I don't currently at this time, sorry!
