I can finally hear the guitars, can't hear them in the mix
I felt the same. I can appreciate the guitars more now that I can hear what’s going on.
This is the problem with so much metal these days. So unbalanced
I've found that the song packs a lot of punch while listening to it with earphones in, but listening to the song on a normal set of speakers sounds flat.
I completely agree with this! The original mix doesn’t allow us to appreciate everything going on with the guitars. So many cool stuff that I didn’t notice on the original recording!!
For real. I think it's more in line with what the average consumer likes, there's more driving energy when vocals and drums are pumping the forefront of the mix but it's always been the riffs for me
I'm a huge fan of Jackson Kelly's, vibrato, long hair and good technique. You're my favorite guitarist I've discovered in the last 10 years and you just happened to join one of my favorite bands. Fuck yeah dude!!!
Brandon Elis taught me to play my string skipping riffs as upstrokes on the higher strings. Ninja stuff

The tremolo picking with this band is just too difficult. The combination of the speed they play and the complexity of the notes is just too much to handle. I've only been playing for two years now but it just seems so far out of reach to play their songs to 100% speed.
Psssst… could you maybe, possibly, perhaps persuade Alan into making a drum play through? Haha

I wonder how many riffs Brian contributed to the album.
In an interview, Brian said him, Brandon, and Ryan all wrote 1/3 of the album.
Have you ever heard of black dahlia murder? Lol Brian has a second house in nantucket he stores riffs in. Each room is full and in alphabetical order. He just goes and grabs a handful when he needs them. Brian aka “riff Lord”. Two phenoms at guitar and Brian can be the third addition at any point. They legit have THE all star line up.
