Biblically though, Peter was not the rock but the statement that he made about Jesus. Jesus uses a play on words in Matthew 16 that people miss in the English. @@trevrockrock16 At the time, the eye witness testimony of a woman wouldn't have been considered credible. As a result, it's absurd to expect that the apostles purposefully invented the story of the resurrection to include unreliable witnesses as its foundation. It's much more likely that Jesus did actually rise from the dead and appear to the women. Here's an explanation by William Lane Craig: The tomb was probably discovered empty by women. To understand this point one has to recall two facts about the role of women in Jewish society. (a) Woman occupied a low rung on the Jewish social ladder. This is evident in such rabbinic expressions as “Sooner let the words of the law be burnt than delivered to women” and “Happy is he whose children are male, but woe to him whose children are female.” (b) The testimony of women was regarded as so worthless that they were not even permitted to serve as legal witnesses in a court of law. In light of these facts, how remarkable must it seem that it is women who are the discoverers of Jesus’ empty tomb. Any later legend would certainly have made the male disciples to discover the empty tomb. The fact that women, whose testimony was worthless, rather than men, are the chief witnesses to the empty tomb is most plausibly accounted for by the fact that, like it or not, they were the discoverers of the empty tomb and the gospels accurately record this. Source: www.lewissociety.org/resurrection/ This is by no means a universal commentary on the reliability of the testimony of women in general. But one has to acknowledge the fact that their testimony was not respected in that time and place, and the role that would have played if the story were invented, and why that makes it more likely the resurrection really happened.
@@trevrockrock16 He is pointing out the fact that if it were a lie they made up the worst possible witnesses, women. Because the time and culture did not regard the testimony of women to be valuable, or at least not as valuable as a man. When you create a lie, the point is to make it believable.

"why would you shame the name and honor of your teacher by lying insistently?" - Why would putting him on a pedestal, claiming he was supernatural and ascended to heaven be "shaming"? They would be elevating him from just another preacher to something special. "would Saul even be converted at all?" - We have next to no idea what happened with Paul. Maybe he made the claim to become the head of the church, maybe he truly believed a dream, or maybe the whole story is made up. "after dying by persecution, what would the disciples of Christ say when they face God Himself?" - They would say they did everything to make the message powerful and to convert as many people they could. Throughout the Old Testament, you read that God is angry at Israel for following different gods. In this scenario, not only is Jesus being made a God, but that same Jesus is on equal terms and is the Son of that same God who time and time again punishes Israel for following different gods. Nobody else mentioned this (And I didn’t see it in the video.), but Roman guards wouldn’t just fall asleep on the job to let the Disciples steal the body. If you fell asleep on guard duty, you got executed. Staying awake was literally a life-or-death scenario for those guards. If you failed, you also got executed, so they were guarding that tomb with their lives. Unless the Disciples managed to kill the guards (Who had full metal armor, shields, and swords, compared to literal cloaks and daggers.), they were not getting that body. Here's an explanation by William Lane Craig:
The tomb was probably discovered empty by women. To understand this point one has to recall two facts about the role of women in Jewish society.
(a) Woman occupied a low rung on the Jewish social ladder. This is evident in such rabbinic expressions as “Sooner let the words of the law be burnt than delivered to women” and “Happy is he whose children are male, but woe to him whose children are female.”
(b) The testimony of women was regarded as so worthless that they were not even permitted to serve as legal witnesses in a court of law.
Source: www.lewissociety.org/resurrection/
This is by no means a universal commentary on the reliability of the testimony of women in general.

They would say they tried their best, and if you have a salvation by faith alone position, then any such lies would not stop you from reaching heaven.

“They would say they did everything to convert as many people they could” - Another proof that you have zero clue what you’re criticizing. Combine that with the fact that the majority of historians agree that the body was gone as written in Scripture, and that alone proves the idiocy of the “stolen body” conspiracy theory.
I wonder if those guards got court-martial..."You had one job!"
@@gbonkers666 Well, the Pharisees said that they would protect the guards from punishment. It is not told whether they were successful in that though, to my knowledge.
Chief official started that lie that the disciples stole the body.
If they had executed the guards it would have strengthened the resurrection claim
That's why John says responding to Peters plan of bribing the guards. "But, why would they (the guards) do that".
@Director James the video does address it. It shows that the ONLY way to steal the body was the pay the guards...which is equally implausible ... thus another brilliant line in the skit.
Another thing my pastor pointed out this morning was that Jesus had Mary be the first witness of Him and His very much resurrected body, even though in their times a woman’s testimony in court meant squat. If Jesus’ resurrection were a hoax, why would all four gospels make it so clear that Mary Magdalene and other women were the first to see the empty tomb, and Mary was the first to see Jesus back from the dead?
I'm becoming a priest and I can relate 😂 Love from India 🇮🇳❤ Please pray for us Indians 💕👑

I'm so confused why everybody in this comment section is saying nonsense like "yeah, it can't be that Jesus' whole thing was fake, Christianity is definitely the true way!!" Your argument about trans people is honestly not good because trans people are mentally ill (gender dysphoria) and we shouldn't enable that but I agree that all religions are ridiculous. When you apply this kind of argument to Christianity, you have to apply it to all the other religions, like Islam. Why did everybody with Muhammed do what they did although they would get hated and stuff? Because this is the way how religion works, religion works on lies. Religion was never rational because it started as a cult and it is still a cult.
Can this be a yearly thing? Like can y’all do the twin theory or the survived crucifixion theory next year? Seriously this is great.
Yeah I want my Jewish psyop propaganda fix!
Let's not forget if they were spreading a lie they would not have written that women were the first to discover the miracle. They would have written themselves as the first ones to know about it.
Remember that the oldest manuscripts of Mark have the women go to the tomb, find it "empty", they got scared run away and told no one. Only later versions and later gospels have the resurrection narrative. Historically, it's VERY unlikely that Jesus would have even been buried, because part of the punishment of crucifixion was to stay on the cross and feed the birds. The story of a (previously unknown character) Joseph asking for his body is a likely invention, as are many other things - for example the trial with Pilate - who was there to take notes? How in the earliest Gospel Jesus says nothing, but decades later in John, we have a this huge philosophical conversation recorded...?
@@theastronomer5800 If Jesus wasn't buried then why did women visit the tomb and got scared when they didn't see Jesus body( according to your description)?
@@spencerd8504 The question would be, how authentic is this story? If Jesus was born of a virgin for example - which no Christian today would doubt (but is not something that one could verify in any way, of course) why doesn't the first Gospel, Mark, narrate it, or mention that Mary was a virgin - is this not something that would be of importance? And, if you read the last Gospel, John, why does it contain a VERY long conversation between Pilate and Jesus, while in Mark he says nothing? Who of Jesus followers was there taking notes?! Do you think that maybe later followers came up with stories to make a theological point?
I was simply stating that historically we know that Roman did not allow people to be taken off the cross, and a number of NT scholars doubt the authenticity of the narrative of burial.
@@theastronomer5800 you del ur previous comment?
@@theastronomer5800”Roman did not allow to take people off the cross” -uh, you mean BEFORE, or UNTIL the sentenced had died, right? Jesus was dead already, when they took Him down…

Either way… what was your point?
You left out the best part in that when they got to the tomb to do their plan it was empty.
There are empty tombs down in my local cemetery. Guess they all rose from the tomb also.

@@samuelschick8813 It does disprove the idea that the disciples made it up, though. Which is the point of the video.

Don't be such a literal minded fact checker. Are you going Woke?
It didn't go over your head. It left the atmosphere.
Not to mention that Jesus revealed himself to more than just his disciples, accounting for more in depth historical records that people encountered Jesus after his death. People seem to completely pass the Bible as completely fictional and ignore doing research to see how the Bible works and that it does actually have a lot of historical records to show its accuracy, though of course the historical aspect of the Bible does have some issues but without a doubt has accuracies. If the Bible is completely fictional it would be quite a surprise to see that much of Europe and western Asia and Middle East were convinced to become largely Christian based for a while in early and even mid AD

I'm a Moroccan too and I believe in Christ now but still hasn't been baptized yet nor came out because I'm afraid of the persecution. I admire you brother .
Do not be afraid, for if you suffer for Jesus in this life, you will have everlasting life in heaven. While I agree that the persecution is not pleasant, we must remember to fear God and to not fear Man.
You believe in Jesus just because someone told you to. People of his time who saw him didn't believe because he couldn't do any miracle like he claimed. Then they crucified him. Now in the age of television and social media, somehow the christian god is totally silent and he doesn't send any angels or messengers etc. You know why? Because all of that was a lie. Listen to my theory :
Jesus' mom Mary was a hoe. She cheated on his husband and got pregnant. She convinced him that she's still a virgin but somehow pregnant with god's child just to avoid his and the society's anger. She gave birth to Jesus and since a very young age she started to feed him with lies that he is the son of god. A kid who listened to all this bs grew up to believe them. Then jesus preached to others that he's the son of god. The church didn't believe him and crucified him because he was lying about their version of god. Yes, churches existed way before jesus. After his death they tried to cash on from his reputation among the ordinary people whom jesus helped somehow. They made him a messenger and their business is still going strong. And yes, they rejected everyone after him who claimed that god sent them as His messenger.
@@JahJah-CleverHandle why fear god? Fear only evil, not god. God is our mother, father, friend, knowledge, everything. Why fear him? I tell you why. Teaching this argument? Teaching this straw-man more like. No-one makes this argument!
Isn't it more likely that Jesus faked dying since he was only on the cross for 6 hours, and thus it was really, easy for him to appear 3 days later and trick the disciples into thinking he rose again?
@@robotnoir5299 Not a strawman at all, atheists make this argument all the time. Not to mention, oh my goodness what a ridiculous theory! I swear each of these skeptical theories is dumber than the last. Ok, lets assume that the Romans who were experts at crucifying somehow messed up and that He also somehow magically survived being stabbed in the side with a spear, which is what the Romans did to make sure someone was dead. So, youre telling me that literally after being crucified He survived in a stone cold tomb for 3 days, didnt bleed out or die of infection or any other way, He stood up on his legs which were pierced with a nail, rolled away the huge heavy stone in front of the tomb, walked away, and all of that after being crucified.... @@robotnoir5299 The Romans guards beat him severely before the crucixfition that he could not carry his cross alone and then pieced a spear in make sure he was dead, so much so that there was a gaping hole in his side. @@Greyz174 What’s your problem? The execution was done by the Romans who knew about the claim of His resurrection. The bible records that guards were placed at the tomb to specifically prevent the disciples stealing the body and claiming He rose again. Poor Roman Decurions, they must’ve been slaughtered for dereliction of duty when Jesus wasn’t found anymore in the grave.
@@peterbassey9668 the bible records that in the way you'd expect it to look of the author of the Gospel of Matthew read the empty tomb story in Mark and saw that there was a plot hole of the body maybe just being stolen, so he added guards at the tomb and had a story that tracks and handles all the potential doubts that someone would have feom reading Mark's open ended empty tomb account.
Theres no trace of this is anything else in the bible that talks about the tomb, which would make sense if this was an invention. You have to change the order of events so the angel descending and paralyzing the guards and moving the stone happens before the women get there for it to line up with the other accounts.
Mark's account of just some women finding a tomb left open empty was bad "apologetically" speaking so the 3 gospels later added their own embellishments to clear up doubts about the disciples or someone else stealing the body. Either the guards or the disciples not believing the women and checking themselves.
If there were Roman guards this story is definitely fake theres no way the high priests could bribe Roman guards to hush up about this and they wouldnt run to the high priests asking what to do. But the story doesnt actually say theyre Roman, they could be temple guards. If there were guards thry woukd probably be temple guards
