  • Our annual Unimog Owner's Weekend had some special guests join us and we were lucky enough for them to take part in a Q&A session.
Our special guest, Scott Malone, has had over 15 years of experience as a recovery mechanic in the Australian Army Reserves. Some of you may have also seen him on Fraser island working as the vehicle recovery operator, in this time he has removed approximately 500 broken vehicles from the island.
This Q&A is a two part series of videos of winching tactics for different situations and a demonstration using the Unidan recovery kit.
We hope that these tip and trick videos are helpful and keep an eye out for part 2.

Great info and knowledgeable guy except for one issue: Runva winches are cheap chinese made winches. Warn and Ramsey are the only good quality electric winches made that are widely available and engineered properly. For example, look at the parts that make up a Warn M12 compared to these China brands... its an astounding difference!

Hi there, we have been using Runva for years and have never had one failed. Although they are made it China and are quite affordable, we have found them to be a high quality product that works well, lasts and has a good warranty period (even though we've never had to use it). We have however had issues with more expensive brands and not having warranties honoured has been a problem too.

Wish that bloke in the crowd would shut up. Asking too many awkward questions. :)
