    Hi Dan, I met you at the factory a few weeks ago. I love the Mogs so much that I now have two in the driveway. One being repainted and the second getting some love too. Thanks for the chat and tour of the factory. Chris H.

      Hi Chris, that's great! So happy you've joined the club! You'll have to bring one (or both) to next years event! If you need any parts, accessories or servicing, please don't hesitate to get in contact and we will help you out.

    What a great overview of an excellent weekend. Sphincter muscle clenched again looking at Phil Beveridge's truck heading for a roll over.

    Great video,but my question is why they are giving so much gas on uphill section. Unimog can handle that on almost idle engine rpm's with just Central and rear locker engaged ,lock the front and you can climb to the moon.

    How about a dual cab with a full size living area in the back ? And a trailer that can connect to main cabin via side doors with a passage so you get bigger living area without leaving the vehicle ?? Side by side. Or back to back.
    Also roof top tents with access to cabins via hatch .......
    I'm full of ideas 😉

      It looks top heavy, but you couldn't have better proof to show it's not top heavy at all, it's really an amazing vehicle.

    Looked at getting one a few years ago for touring but the terrible fuel economy put me off.

    • @unidanengineering
      @unidanengineering  4 года назад +8

      We actually find that most people are very happy with the fuel economy for what the trucks are. on average most of our owners are achieving between 20 to 25L per hundred when compared to an LC or Patrol with a caravan we are getting very similar figures.

      I'll look into it again and do my homework better this time round.

    • @greenlightning6971
      @greenlightning6971 4 года назад

      For truck this big and this heavy it actually has reeeeaaallllyyy low fuel consumption. Not to mention tyres and added equipment. By my comparison,good oll' Toyotas ( Wich you Aussies obviously love ) or similar 4x4 vehicle should consume less then 5 liter per 100 km just to get near this beast.

    arghh why is that spotter screaming "left"? that's super confusing. always say passenger or driver.

    • @unidanengineering
      @unidanengineering  4 года назад +1

      That's a great comment. This individual is very experienced in 4x4 and extreme conditions, the actual spotter of this vehicle had left the situation without any help for the recovery of the vehicle. As the man was standing facing the same direction as the driver, it makes sense to be able to say "left", especially given the high-pressure situation. Thank you for that though, it's definitely a good observation.

      Watch Britannic Restorations to see the full horrific enormity of the superiority of Land Rovers in all kinds of ways compared to Unimogs! The only true items are probably a tyre change, cost of filling the fuel tank and much reduced chance of injury when falling out of it! OM366LA and 300TDI are both real masterpieces though.
