I wouldn’t recommend otr to anyone. Most miserable 4 months of my life. Low pay, constant setbacks, wasting hours looking for parking, always replanning load. Otr is not just another job.
Same here! Makes the time fly by fast and also inspires me to continue putting my head down, continue grinding. while my peers seem to be out enjoying life on the weekend, I'm out here grinding away in hopes of a better near future.
I was a trucker for 5 years. I started at 21. Now I’m 26 & left the industry. Currently a cop. When I was young I like it. I got to see the country & got paid for it. But Long term you wasting your life away. You don’t have time to exercise & socialize. You’re always alone with strangers. You gain weight & your mental health gets worse. After you see the country. The excitement is gone. It’s just a paycheck. Now I’m 26 a cop… I have a six pack & a beautiful girlfriend. I have colleagues & friends. Go out on the weekends. Go to church. Go to the gym everyday. Eat what I want. I have a life. I have freedom. I love my 9 to 5. Sleeping at home & no longer feel like I’m throwing my life away.
I truck and have been doing 120k+ miles a year for the last 2 years and am still in great shape. My buddy became a cop while I picked a Cdl and he’s got a good job but it’ll take him awhile to get a home, I’m looking for my 2nd one I’m 25..
@@JTmovingweight99 spot on me it’s just about what you want to prioritize. some people want to live a life with a good support group amazing friends plans on the weekends and some people like me only care for the future everything i do is for my future self.
These are things that can happen, doesn’t mean that it will. I have been trucking 34 years, all otr. Not having any negatives that you mention. You didn’t have the mindset to make it long term. No shame in that. Glad you found your niche.
Most of the time it comes down to the individual. People are miserable in all sorts of different career fields, because they themselves are miserable people. Trucking certainly isn't for everyone. Know yourself before you get into it. As the old saying goes....wherever you go, there you are.
It's also not a great career if you want to have a social life and mingle with family and friends. So again, trucking is better for dudes that don't have a lot of family and are okay with not going bar hopping.
Love your vids Tyler!! I Hope God is by your side while you are on the road. I would love to hear how your stock investments handled during the recent drop. Did they drop a lot? Are they going back up to what they were? Would love to hear back from you. I wanna get in stocks but im a novice and need to do way more research on them. Stay safe brother!!
I appreciate you for watching and I think that’s a great question but I will answer that in my next video because I want to give you a better answer than a short reply!
I know 4 guys that got their cdls after the covid market and no one will hire them not even the mega carriers. They want experienced drivers. They spent 5-6k and still working their regular jobs.
I GUESS WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW, YOU DON'T KNOW, BUT THERE ARE COMPANIES THAT OFFER YOU, FREE CDL, BUT LOOK OUT, THAT'S JUST THE CATCH, YOU MUST STAY WITH THAT CO, FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS, AND THEY WILL PAY YOU WHILE YOU ARE IN TRAINING!
Coming into trucking with no money is like behind 3 yrs before your 1st yr . I know someone who made over 1m in trucking this is why I don't listen to people crying about two trucking
Please Please if you want to be an owner operator don't come in with a lot of debt..right now the rates are very low..Please pay cash for your truck..try your very best not to have any truck payment..you can thank me later 😊.......
Afternoon Tyler! I like what you say cause attitude effects altitude! Stay positive and fly high...negative crash and burn! It is really good to hear from you! Roll safe out there my brother! I missed your videos it's good to know you took some R and R time!
It’s great to know that you had some time off and it’s great to have you back. Even during a pause, you have been so generous with your output that there’s plenty to look back on and get re-inspired by as well.

100% right! I listen to financial channels while I’m driving down the road!
That’s great!
Me too . I want to learn as much as I can

I've learned that being a trucker long-term is much much easier for young men if they don't have wife and children. It is what it is.
It's also not a great career if you want to have a social life and mingle with family and friends. So again, trucking is better for dudes that don't have a lot of family and are okay with not going bar hopping.
It’s easier if you don’t care about yourself. Or your a masochist.

they sound like fucktards if they got a cdl and couldn't even land a job

So many trucks drive bye in the background tell me again there’s no money in trucking 😂
So true, but let the masses continue to believe there’s no money in it lol
Trucking is just a rotten business to be in
