    One memory I carry from when I rode along with my father over the road while on summer vacations from school was listening to his collection of comedy cassettes (it was the 1980's, a CD Player was premium equipment back then, and digital media was virtually unheard of) and I still remember laughing to artists such as Ray Stevens, Jerry Clower and the like. It was all good clean humor, at least for the most part (He did have some Jay Hickman tapes mixed in his collection too).

    Drink less soda, been a trucker for 9yrs, haven't had a soda in 6yrs. Cut soda you'll feel a difference in a week. Yup, anger management...don't worry about something you can't control...be patient, let it go.

    Most truck stops have a big enough parking lot that make great walking tracks and it can help a lot to just walk around a few times when you shut down for the day. Avoid the garbage thats sold at truck stops and I personally try to aim to get to a Walmart or a grocery store and buy real food.

    I’ve been OTR for 30 years and 3.5 million accident free miles.. no local, all OTR and I can tell you this job is hell. It affects your health and a host of other things with the daily stresses of driving amongst idiot 4 wheelers and other truckers, idiot dispatchers, idiot company policy’s and micro management by those companies not to mention the stress of not getting paid for all your on duty time and miles and the stress of shippers and recv. My advice...Don’t stay in your truck for months driving, take a lot of time off, njoy life cuz these companies will slave drive you..., don’t hurry with loads be patient, be respectful and when u feel you can’t take it anymore get away from trucking cause if u don’t it will kill you. And always remember, no company no matter how much they say it, cares about you. You are a money maker for them..that’s it, when u become less than that then you become a liability to their money making business. Keep the shiny side up drivers.. I retire in 3 months(1 July 2021).

      @ItalianStallion1415 3 года назад +1

      @@iheartcryptoverse2857 First of all, do you drive with open deck freight? If so, that makes things eaiser. I was able to cheaply attach my full size mountain bike to the headache rack.
      If you drive a box trailer, my best advice to you would be to get a foldable bike that fits inside the truck. If you have a cheap bike you dont care for, and your truck has a deer gaurd, I would consider mounting it on the front. That can interfere with the truck's maneuverability though... Or maybe purchase a foldable scooter but that sounds expensive and doesn't give the same excerise as a bike. I've seen a few people stuff their bicycle underneath their box trailer's aerodynamic devices. If you do drop and hook, swapping the bicycle around will get old.

    If you've got a bit of spare room in your truck or and extra storage box on frame, one of those folding bikes works well. Every so often I'll take mine with me out on the road in spring and summer. Nice for getting out and exploring. Great for doing a little shopping too.
