Hi: I went to Funchal for the fireworks, and after 9 days in Santa Cruz I fell totally in love with this beautiful island. I can compare it with a lot of countries and continents. My goal is to live in Funchal or surroundings in 2024. "Hit the road Madeira" already promised me a tour to Cabo Girao, I hope in March. I hope we´ll meet in my next 10 days in Madeira. I thought Coimbra was good, but Madeira is even better. Greetings!

Love seeing the journey! My partner and I are looking to invest in a detached house in Funchal, and are looking to get an idea of what its like renovating from scratch. I am wondering if I could get your email to ask a few questions? I am sure you have some great insights!
I’m curious to know why you would want to buy an abandoned house full of character and then turn it into something else? Wouldn’t it be more suitable for your visions and dreams to have bought an empty lot and start from scratch?
Thank you for your question and we did look into that as our first option. However our lawyers told us that the purchase price of land cannot be a part of the investment for the Golden Visa. Everybody has a budget and ours wouldn't stretch to that so we had to buy a rehabilitation project. This in itself is not easy as there are criteria to be met.
