- Today is Espetada day! We were invited to join the builders in a celebration after laying a concrete slab, as far as we could understand, celebrating is a way to bring good luck to the house.
In the previous video we saw the progress of the kitchen and the living room during the month of August and this video is to share the progress of the rest of the house
We give you a sneak preview of our new front door which we designed ourselves. We talk about photovoltaics, water coming into the house and what to expect next time.

Looking great, will be a great sensation when you move in I am sure.
Hi, you’re given my family and I an extremely urge to follow your path😊
May you give us some advises or person to create contacts and start our journey please?
You guys are our motivation. Thanks, bless you!
Hey thanks for your comment Nayma. How lovely to hear. We talk a lot about this in earlier videos so do go back and watch them! I do have contact details in many of our videos but will add some in the description here incase you haven’t found them. Wishing you all the best!
I did not realize you don't eat meat. I would absolutely love it if you shared your vegetarian recipe. Obviously once you have moved in and settled.
I believe they already moved in
Hi! Yes we moved in before Christmas but the renovations weren't finished and in fact the builders are here now finishing off. I don't know how the 'chef' cooked the sweet potatoes on this day but they were the best I have ever had. Sorry I don't have a recipe, there was a tomato salad and some corn on the cob... well that is what we call it in England! Sorry not sure that helps at all 💚
@@ourbrightjourney Madeira has a few varieties of sweet potatoes and some varieties are sweeter than others.
One of the ways I like sweet potatoes is baking then in the oven. Depending on size of them, it can take 45min or longer. No seasoning needed, at least for my taste, the name says it all, “sweet potatoes” Once you get used to work out time vs size of the sweet potatoes, you can switch off the oven 10 minutes before the finishing time in order to save energy.

It’s looking good
Thank you!
Oh wow, vegetarians in Madeira! Has that been a challenge?
Did the builder put plaster right onto the concrete blocks or is there any insulation in between?
He puts the plaster on top of the blocks. It doesn’t ever get below 12 degrees here so insulation is not necessary.
@@ourbrightjourney Thanks for replying! Can't wait to see your future episodes and visit Madeira again!
Thank you! We will be sharing more soon 💙
Starting to investigate potential Madeira projects with Angela and Catarina (hopefully they are looking at a couple of opportunities for me this week) - I have been visiting Madeira for over 30 years (before the Via Rapida network and tunnels were constructed when it took about 3 hours to travel from one end of the island to the other!) - any possibility of contacting you for a chat? PS I am a member of the Holiday Property Bond which owns the Cabo Girao Village complex where I stay when visiting the island
Hi Nigel it sounds like you know Madeira well! It’s good to hear you have Angela and Catarina helping you find a project. Happy to have a chat, we have visitors arriving tomorrow so how about next weekend. I will add some ways you can contact us in the description. 😊
