How to book emergency date for F1 visa
I got my I20 for my gradute program which is a 5 years program. But, in my I20 my duration of course is 1 year.
When I talked to the college, they told me that after coming to the college and submitting the official documents I will get the I20 with extended date.
So, while filling the DS160 form what should I write in intended stay in USA, 5 years or 1 year. Because I need the F1 visa for 5 years.

the number of subjects you had a backlog in but as you've to submit all marksheets including the ones that shows you failed in you might as well consider the number of attempts it took you to clear the subject

@@chemistrydepartmentkrishna1147 no, you won't need any finance document. Just keep your fellowship/assistantship letter handy in case the officer asks for it. Even that is very rare. A PhD student's visa interview is very different and relatively easier than that of a masters student. Once the officer takes notice that it's a funded program, he/she approves the visa straight away.

@@naumanriyazmaldar4571 Phd students as such are not expected to show finance. As the I20 mentions that they are university sponsored. But, for a safer side show finances for air travel expenses and 1 month living expenses. This is what I have heard.

You do need to pay the MRV, don't worry about it! You're good.

Hello Yash, Many thanks for creating an informative video. My relative is in USA on F1 and want to apply for extension as new I-20 is available for future date. After creating DS-160 , we are guided to appointment site and there it forces us to enter SEVIS and Exchange visitor number. We do have ONLY SEVIS number. I feel that recently USA visa sites undergone changes and this something new. Can you please comment on this?
If you have only the SEVIS number, that is the correct information to enter into the appointment site. The site should accept the SEVIS number for F-1 visa applicants without requiring an Exchange Visitor number.
@@YashMittraYMGrad Hi Yash, Yes perfect . Logically you are right as one person can either have Sevis or Exchange Visitor number , NOT BOTH. However, NEW site design is expecting and forcing us to enter BOTH values . So though you might have got similar cases and probable solution. Please revert in case you get some idea. I have booked expedited student Visa appointment request and I'm waiting for 2 to 3 days for reply. My program start date is August 24 for Fall and the program earliest date on my I20 is July 24. The first earliest appointment date is December 6,2021. I am a Liberian where there is no travel ban. What's you advice?
You can only apply for an expedited appointment if the start date of your program is in 60 days. I think they'll only accept your emergency request if you apply on or after June 25
Hey Yash, I’ve been admitted to USC with a some % merit scholarship which was mentioned in the departments admissions letter. However they didn’t mention it in the I-20.
I did raise my concerns a couple of times earlier during the process however it’s been ignored. Do you think this means the scholarship isn’t guaranteed? Can a uni do that?
