Step 1: Reviewing and Signing the Form I-20
After receiving the I-20, which could be electronically or by mail, you should review the information closely, including the instruction section on page 3. If you find any incorrect information, you must contact your Designated School Official immediately and ask for a correction.
Where to sign on I20?
If the information presented on your Form I-20 looks correct and you have understood the instructions on page 3 of the I-20, you can go ahead and sign and date the student attestation section at the bottom of page 1 in black ink.
Note that if you are an F1 student who is under the age of 18 at the time of signing the I-20, you would need to obtain a signature from your parent or legal guardian as well.
Step 2: Applying for Your F1 Visa and Scheduling your Interview Appointment:
In the next step, you will apply for your F1 visa using the Form DS-160 and pay the non-refundable US visa application fee.
After that, it is time to book your F1 interview appointment. To do so, you will find the US Embassy or Consulate in your home country that's open and currently accepting interview appointments (find a US Embassy/Consulate here: www.usembassy.....
Step 3: Pay SEVIS Fee
With your interview appointment secured, it's time to pay your SEVIS fee and obtain a payment receipt. A payment for your SEVIS fee could be made online at www.fmjfee.com using a credit card.
However, prospective F1 and M1 visa applicants who are citizens of Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Cameroon, and Gambia cannot make a SEVIS fee payment online. If you are applying to study in the US in a graduate 2 year program and plan to bring your children (3 children in all. 10 yrs and under), will your children be named under your own I-20 form or will they be issued individual I-20 forms?
They will be issued separate Form I-20's as dependents.

Need to contact your DSO ASAP. You will need a new I-20 with information that matches your passport exactly.

You can pay the fee after submitting the DS-16. Both are processed relatively quickly.

Does the University send you the I-20 just after accepting the Offer? How long after accepting it does it normally take to receive the I-20?
The university will send your I-20 after you have submitted proof of funds to cover your tuition and living expenses at the university. I would expect delivery within 2 weeks.

In that case the coverage from the GRA will be written on the Form I-20, and you will only have to show proof of funds to cover whatever is remaining. So let's say you get $12,000 from GRA but the annual expense (Tuition + Living) is $30,000. In this case, you will need to show proof of the remaining $18,000 and not $30,000. Hope that makes sense

If you're confident that you can get your receipt of the SEVIS fee before your interview, that'll be ok. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

Hello. I wanted to ask if a prospective f1 student needs to fill out an affidavit of support if he or she is going to be sponsored by someone else.. is it detrimental to do so before the visa interview or would a letter and bank statement from the sponsors be sufficient
The affidavit is usually a good supporting document to have when your sponsor is not an immediate family member.
Hi I was accepted into a U.S university graduate program and given a fellowship which includes a stipend and full tuition coverage. I accepted my offer 5 days ago and they confirmed receipt but no one has reached out regarding my I20. Is this normal given that school will start at the end of August for me? Are I20s only issued 3 months before the start of the program?

Hello, quick one,does this mean that since SEVIS fee is paid via WU for Nigerians, the same goes for MRV fee ,or can the MRV fee be paid online with debit card
How you pay the MRV varies from one US Embassy/Consulate location to the next, so check the instructions of the US Embassy/Consulate in Nigeria for the correct instructions. But the SEVIS fee for Nigerians and student visa applicants from the other mentioned countries can't be made online. Not entirely sure in this case. You can enter your information on fmjfee.com and see if it lets you pay with a credit card.

Well, it appears that your sponsor will be someone who is responsible for funding yur study abroad. In this case it could be both your Dad and the Presidential Scholarship provider.
