I know its a bit old, but how would you compare cut quality as far as dross, finishes, cleanup with these sync carts vs the regular machine fine cuts for thinner material 10-18 guage?
Here is my rough cost break down on 65A consumables (I normally run 2 nozzles for every electrode) 6 6 8 -- 20 / 2 = $10 per change avg Vs $53 for the SYNC setup So that is $43 savings per change out. If you change your consumables twice per: Month that's $86 x 12 = $1,032 / yr Week $86 x 52 = $4,472 / yr Day $86 x 5 x 52 = $22,360 / yr Where is the cash cow to cover the additional costs?
Have you ran the sync cartridges? They will last longer at making better cuts which is where it’s at for s a prototype shop like mine. Many will run consumables far past their perfect operating setup as quality may not matter but for me once I see any type off out of round hole of mismatched angles I need to swap out so the normal ones last much less. Also you need to account for time spend changing consumables. At a shop rate of $100 an hour here and probably going up to $150 soon that’s real numbers to consider. If you don’t like them you don’t need to run them, you can just use a duramax torch and standard consumables.
@@adamdeuling5720 The input from users on P Spider is not backing up Hypertherms claims.. The new system may be more convenient but not worth the additional $$$ If time is that important have several sets ready to go download and learn how to read the charts. I have 3 machines w/ 5 of their torches None will ever have the expensive Sync$ on them..
@@SegoMan I know of shops getting much more than advertised on the sync setups. I’ve used the sync at fabtech and was impressed. You do you, no reason to knock new tech if your a fan of the old stuff. They aren’t getting rid of the old consumables so you will have them for a long time
Nice new table
Thanks for the info. If ya think about it let me know how much use you get out of one.
Is there a difference between the Hypertherm 65 and 85 as far as the 65 is edgestart?

You are using the new SYNC on an older machine?
Yes Hypertherm has an adapter to run them on the Powermax torch. It’s like $120.
Hi. How to know when to change the consumable? I also use the old one plasma source.
