    This book is one of my all time favourites. I alternated between reading the physical copy and listening to the audio version (when I was doing chores around the house or out and about walking) because I didn’t wanna put it down. The man who did the audio version was phenomenal and sounded to me like he pronounced all the Spanish words authentically. Amazing book 🤩🤩🤩

    I got this book about four years ago and kept putting off reading it because I didn't expect it to be very interesting. I ended up finishing it in just one week, and now it's become one of my favourite books. Thanks for the amazing review!

    I LOVED that book, it fell off a shelf in a local caf that also served as 2nd hand bookshop at the time (now long gone) and hit me as I was browsing the shelves, it looked intrigueing, it was doorstopper brick thick which was always a bonus, and cost every last peso I had on me ($120, in 2008) at the time, but I read it over the next 3 days, could not put it down. I read it once or twice more, lent it to so many friends who also loved it, until I gave it to a friend. LOVE it.

    The thing with the names comes from the original language. We non Spanish could confuse names that to Spanish speakers are quite different. As for names in Spanish try 100 years of solitude where I kept asking myself who ! THAT book changed my life, it made me see everything through magical eyes.

    • @WellTraveledBooks
      @WellTraveledBooks  2 года назад

      That is very true! The names are probably very different to Spanish speakers. I would probably keep a chart for 100 years of Solitude haha it sounds like I would be confused quickly! I want to read it someday soon though.

      It starts to get so good after about 100 pages. I wouldn’t give up. There’s so many twists and turns and you feel immersed in an infatuation of uncovering information along with Daniel. I listened to the audiobook which I really liked because of all of the pronunciation of places and people, and vivid dialogue or characters.
