I took a shit in the coast to the west once, very fulfilling.
Yeah, west coast skaters are so weird compared to east coast skaters
ayuka , this isn't "weird", it's different.
Is that like the most positive dude alive?
wise words from a young man! live and pursue your dreams, not what the world wants or says you must be. there are enough of those people out there...PURA VIDA!!!
some of us wanna make millions, some us wanna have an ideal body, but this guy lives in a vw and enjoys life.
Right! Being happy is all that really matters. Be happy because you choose to and follow your true passion no matter what in life and it will be good to you and will support you.
Except he makes a shit ton of money...
+Steven Yanak Most pro skateboarders make about minimum wage or less :(
I bet you this guy has at least a million in the bank after saving all that $$ on rent. La rent is no joke.
Skateboarders get most of their money from sponsors
One of your best videos yet man
amen
hahaha this guy must be the most funny not-at-all-lazy guy living in an RV! if it looks silly but it works, then it is smart and not lazy 👍
Mary Mar o
This guy is awesome! I'm saving up to live in a van in about 2 years hopefully.
Jonah Underwood saving up to live in a van? Don't worry Donald trump is fixing this. Van living gets old real fast, and the older you get living in a van the harder it gets. Having a travel van is great, but to live in one is a joke!
Biggils let him do what he wants
+DimitryDino Let dude comment on what and in any way he wants
van living gets old real fast...what is that supposed to mean? and how is it hard living in a van? I suppose living in a van its a joke only for you. anyways.
Jonah Underwood you ugly poor piece of shit
3:00 water sounds to be really eco-friendly, haha: bottled in Hawaii and shipped to California...
sp89 I thought the same thing!
He might be sponsored!
was it a joke or not?
That must be after he said he was a "professional social influencer" and I stopped watching. This is the first one of these videos where I actually just thought the person in it was an arsehole and stopped.
i found him to be very charming and funny! He is a professional skateboarder and lots of instagram followers typically come with that territory. I'm impressed and applaud him for maximizing his opportunities.
What a chill guy!
This is such a an awesome set up! I live in a car in Venice beach!
There are some streets out here where you can pretty much park week round. Just have to move for street cleaning once a week.
how the fuck do you live in a car? fuckin twacked out lsd/Molly poppin hippies
Kendrick Kirk while I don't live out of it I have a 2002 Nissan Xterra, it's not obnoxiously large like a full size SUV but with rear seats down it's about the same size as a full bed and the seats fold flat which is rare now a days.
I'm roughing it in a 97' Toyota corolla, but the seats fold down into the trunk so i can comfortably spread out. Van life is a real thing. So many people live in there vans out here. It's the RVs that people get pissed about.
I've been doing it for 5 months now. I mean it's not like I hang out in my car. I'm out all day filming and then I head to my office to edit and then just crash in my car. I shower at planet fitness or the beach. Foodwise, I was living off non perishables and peanut butter sandwiches, but now that my income has gotten better I eat decent.
Please sponsor him with a solar panel!! He is so great ^_^

What an amazing life! Thanks for sharing your joy.
First time I lived in my Van was 1976.....I wonder if in 2017 the cops will leave you alone....
I wasn't born at that time, but in a lot of places, its probably a lot worse. But when you live in a van, you get to go where you want to go. So in that light, cops aren't at all preventative. I drove across the country last summer and didn't have a single incident. Then again, the urban areas I went to were largely in outdoorsy mountain towns.
Totally depends on where you are. I lived in Berkeley, CA for 10 months in one spot and NEVER had anyon ever fuck with me.
I bet the best place to camp overnight for a couple nights would be in a senior area....just talk to someone in the area and let them know you are traveling and mean no harm. The word would get out, as seniors love to talk and gossip, and they would keep an eye out for you as well.
or... there are assholes in the community that dont want you there and call the cops immediately
I can see the people in my area being fine with it if the visitors let a few people know they are just overnighting for a couple nights and then will move on...
You are so cool and I’m 52 yrs old!!!! Buddy live your life , the way you want! I hope your life is the best, your dream ! God bless
Dude I love your videos so much. They give me hope.
Fr been down a rabbit hole and the best videos are skateboarders/snowboarders. They're just so chill and funny
Love these! We've tried to get 'off the grid' on our boat - only use solar power, live cheap and easy it's so great. We both quite our jobs too and now I just do volunteer veterinary work. We are trying to document everything for our VLOG too.
Yes I hope he has a solor panel!!! Love his “lazy” tips!! He’s a super cutie!!
"I'm about 5'11, just shy of the big one" hahah I love this guy
livin it up. This guy is radiating joy. Happy hes out there
hahah 5'11" just shy of the big 1
This is one of the best videos yet about vanlife! It's so open and free about his life. Love it👌✌️
What a lovely guy! 😊
OMG I love him!! He says lazy but he’s really just ingenious. Someone get him a TV show; I could listen to him ramble all day. 😍
he is flippin adorable
somebody gotta lose to the hippies...cuckolds.
If I gain a modicum of the happiness this man has when my rig is done it will be a success. Seriously the happiest dude ever.
That guy is great! Camera loves him. Give him a show...or at least some solar !!
i love this guy optimism, we all need to be more like him, makes life better.
such a cutie, love his van! I wish I had my own Westfalia, I'm so sad they stopped producing them
this bro has so much enthusiasm. brosiasm. thanks for sharing your energy.
doesn't look to bad to be honest
Cameron Dukes vehicles are always awesome...till u gotta repair them. learned that the hard way lol
With an attitude like that, you'll be living in a van down by the river!
Chris Farley?
Nobody?
Kids don't know what you missed...
Haha I get it dude I watched that snl episode when I was nine lmao a kid, but watched it haha.
This is inspiring I mean he is happy about the simplist things. Im happy I watched this.
LOVE this skateboarder! What a great van. Livin the life! Very inspiring video
This man is wonderful! He doesn't have that yuppie vibe that all these other hundred thousand dollar van-lifers have, he's just down to earth and chill about everything. Nothing fancy but it all works. Best vid yet
I'm selling my 2 houses I own eventually, selling almost everything I own, and buying a huge RV to live in camp grounds around BC Canada.
yass BC
Huge rvs are a huge pain in the hind end; maintenance, parking, zero stealth, fuel costs & bad environmentally. Study other happy nomads who’ve been on the road for YEARS, usually their rigs are small. Good luck to you & your new 🌎 friendly life🙂
i respect the rock n roll of this dude, like lets get real, he literally was just like okay rents a waste of money, bought the first camper that he could find and just made it work. he has no tech, no solar, that van is mangled, he is the reason it works, not the van, not his engineering skills, nor his thousands of dollars in investment and months of conversion work. The dude literally clips his phone to a bungie and thinks the AC is the vans sickest feature. love it
This channel is soo inspiring..
Man I have watched a lot of videos in my life! By far the best 9 minutes I have ever seen
Totally missed the “Netflix and chill” reference from the AC bazooka.
Love the netflix set up! HAHA!
this dude seems so chill to hang out with.
I see these videos and see people in the comments section idolizing these van dwellers and wish they themselves can be like this one day. Let me tell you, VAN LIFE ISN'T FOR EVERYONE. There are many aspects that take a toll on you physically and mentally. Ever try sleeping in a place where people walk around and make noises literally 2 feet away from you with only a sheet metal in between? Especially at 2am...? You don't know who these people are, what they are capable of, or what they're up to.... It can be a mind fuck... A home is not just a shelter but a place where you know you're safe and can rest with peace of mind from all the elements of the world. SECURITY. It is the number 1 reason why people spend their entire lives working their asses off all day everyday. To be secure financially, physically, mentally and to provide for self and for the loved ones around them. There is nothing secure about living in a van, and it's certainly not for everyone.
I love the fact that he played the ukulele for the music in this video 😊👌
One happy guy!! Good for him, pity more people don't act that way.
He is the cutest hooman bean in my book, beside MJ. How sweet is he! Amazing way of living. Simple
very cool, however those vans are insanely slow unless you rebuild the engine. I've always wanted one, vw has had a concept next gen bus on hold for years.
Yeah well no need to be rude, why don't YOU think before YOU make a statement. Everyone knows those buses top out at 30 mph. How do travel on a highway going 30? The engines on vw buses also blow up fairly easily and to maintain one is expensive. I'm not saying he has to go fast, but you have to have a car that can at least get up to 60, it's illegal to drive below the speed limit on the highway. Since you aren't very smart I will say it's not practical to drive a vehicle that goes only 30 mph. You aren't very bright and way to take things so seriously! Get a life loser! Fuck you little wannabe bitch! By the way when you act rude like that, expect rude back! You pick fights with people, that says a lot about your intelligence. So you don't have to act like you're on some higher plane of intelligence with your comments on youtube. Another thing you must be a low life to write on my comment, you must have a lot of time on your hands!
Andy S Damn bro calm down
With vans you must improvise. This man is a genius and I love the personality. Keep killing out there man that’s rad, just got my first 85 vanagon of many more to come🤙🏻🤙🏻
When I get my VW van Im gonna try this life style out. I am so happy to live in SoCal
Ah… to be 20+ again… without a care in the world… :) Love it!
im 20 now and I worry about everything. Lol
@@Dyl_Cam same
this dude is hella cool i love his outlook on life.
Where can I get an ice bazooka, can’t find it anywhere :/
I have seen a lot of Van-lifers videos, but this is maybe the best one. Good vibes, dude!
I really like this van, it’s probably my favorite. Simple. Everything you need.
i get the message but i have one question ... how the fuck do most of these people make the money to buy petrol and food ?
There are a lot of different ways to become location independent. We live in the Age of the Internet and which allows us the more freedom than ever.
Vlogs always dodge this question with a vague answer. You can never pin it down. I think it's a bit dishonest to push this lifestyle without showing how its paid for. Even if its partially funded by his parents or a trust fund, at least be real about it.
+Spencer Kochel exactly.. this channel promotes positivity, and the whole do what you love shit but it also puts a wrong idea in the heads of all of these brain dead kids who think that they will work a shity job for a few months buy a van and go explore the world ... its not really that simple.. i would appreciate a new channel (second channel) with uncut interviews with these people unlike this 9minute ad
The Age of the internet also makes us more dependent than ever. Slave to phone or computer. This lifestyle is not cheap. Gas, food, maintenance, unexpected parking tickets, health care, and so much more. What realistic job can you hold with this type of living situation?Graphic Design, Voiceover, Vlog Ad Revenue? To make a decent living to afford this those occupations demand a lot of time. On top of that, you don't punch in for 30 minutes a day remote and make several grand a month. No one ever explains it, instead gives some response like, "internet allows us to live free". Give me a break. You need to come from a affluent background to afford this. There's nothing glamorous about living in your car when you have to. I'm all for trying to do what you love. Hell, I have lived grimey and worked shitty jobs to try and have all the time possible to do things I love to do(Skateboarding, Music, etc) Its such a pipe dream to see all of these types of videos putting unrealistic ideas into peoples heads like its easy to do. I have friends that do this kind of stuff, and guess what? They have well off folks that contribute a large portion of the money needed. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that, but my gripe is they try to push a different narrative as to how this type of lifestyle is possible. Stop the Smoke and Mirrors
I think the idea of this channel is to show that it's possible, even if it's short term. What we don't see is where they have to take a dump, when their vehicle breaks down, having to find a parking spot for the night, etc. But that's social media right? There aren't many people who post on Facebook or Instagram that kind of stuff...you only post pictures of exotic vacations, the amazing food you eat, gorgeous sunsets, etc.
Vanlife isn't for everyone...it's for those who don't have commitments such as a mortgage or school for their kids obviously. I have friends who live out of their Honda Element and they've been perfectly fine. They find odd jobs (construction, focus groups, medical studies) to make ends meet and they eat the most boring food but their reward is to be able to wake up in a national park, go hiking for the day and star gaze at night. You have to be very resourceful in terms of fixing things or flexing your budget. It's doable without rich parents as long as your expectations aren't in the clouds.
Awesome Video! Cali weather is ALWAYS so legit!
*Follow your dreams*
His energy is lovely ☺️
From the decks to the van interior, dude has dope style.
hobo: "the sky is my roof and this world is my house"
hmmmmmm true
I love this guy. what a legend.
Thanks for the great inspiration! Today, i'm struggling in college with california expensive tuition and rents and hope that after graduated I would have my own money to pursue my VW vanlifer dream like yours!
"It's cold in California" really?
yes because I'm from Hawaii lol :D
randomguy5990 everything in life is relative
randomguy5990 yes ! you get use to warm Weather so winters especially with wind off of ocean, brrr.
im from san francisco and to us 55 is freezing and 75 is scorching, it's all relative
Lol yeah and he's in Southern California
This video makes me so happy 😀 Love the positivity and passion. Inspires me!
who knows the notes for that rift in the backround
skate or die!! sick set up man! what you sed at the end made me realize I need to push harder to pursue my dreams thanks for that motivation
Song in the background with the ukulele at least the chords please?
This guy is just so cool I had a smile on my face that whole time 😊
what's a social influencer?
So cool to see a Westfalia bus on the other side of the world when its made 5km from where I live.
His personality is amazing
I’ve watched a lot of van life videos but this is still my favourite! Just bought my first tall top van and doing it here in Aotearoa (NZ) ... 🤙🏼 all thanks to some inspirational videos like this!
This guy is who I wanna be. Like rn I’m 15 and he is livin my dream 🤙
Your video made me smile 🙂 you have such a positive attitude!
Don't ever give Annaliese Nielsen a ride in your van. She would probably think that because of your hawaiian girl that you might go pillage the continent of hawaii.
#culturalappropriation
HIS AESTHETIC AND HIS ENTHUSIASM SO GOOOODDDD
They are only looking at the positive side of this. There are also many other things not so fun, finding parking, finding a job to pay for food propane etc, and many other things. They have good intentions, trying to bring the new generation outside more and stuff, but they don't show the fact that van life isn't for everybody. Just my thoughts...
david Kealey yes they do 😂 that talk about the negatives of having vans all the time. But thanks for being that one person 😂
People’s save up their money for this lifestyle.. it’s not that hard to find a job living in a van.
Very Awesome 👏 thank you so very much for sharing Justin! Love it. 👍😊
arent those 4x4 vw buses really rare?
Depending on where you are buying them from like UK or US and whether its left hand drive or right but there are many sellers in the UK that I know of
Bro I need chill people like this to hang with, plus he is smart talking about some real shit, a lot of people aren't smart like this dude ! Keep skating bro and living life ! That is the most awesome idea, to set up a van sleeper !!
This is badass! I was living in my car the first half of 2016 and those were the best days of my life.
THIS GUY IS A LIVING LEGEND
yo! you blew up like crazy! I haven't watched your videos in a while but I checked this one out! keep it up!!
I like the enthusiasm he gave in this video
This guy seems so nice and chill
He has such an awesome personality.
this guy is cool as a shit. this is the kind of people I want in my life. simple, genuine, friendly. loved this video and his vibes. Its a message everyone needs to hear.
Thanks, Justin! I needed to hear your words of encouragement. Paying bills is really the only thing that has kept me from living out my dream, too! :P Rent is an ever-widening black hole.
this video has a different vibe than all your other videos.. love them all! can't wait for you to 100k :) you know what is long due!
Great message from such a young mind.
'Can easily fit two people'.... I VOLUNTEER AS TRIBUTE!! Honestly though this right here is dreams!
This guy knows what's up! 👍🏽
He was so funny and genuine!! Such a down to earth guy. I hope he gets the solar panel sponsorship.
He reminds me of a young Link from Good Mythical Morning. His enthusiasm is amazing
really impressed at how he's famous and is above the influence of materialism that's hyper-present among celebrities. Way to go, Justin!
Charisma for days! Love it.
Such a chill guy!
that cinema setup made my day!
Dude, you are living the dream!
