just found your channel and have a turbo 9th gen myself, 4 years being boosted, the drain location will not kill the turbo. sadly without doing a type s kit and relocation on the oil filter that is the best we can do besides the drain plug hole.. mine is near that same location only elevated slightly more, it will be fine.
FYI water cooling is not optional on that turbo, the seals will cook and it’ll last about 3000 miles. Just run the lines that used to go to the throttle body to the turbo so it lasts
that’s exactly what i was gonna do too just use the throttle body lines but just going based off pulsar they just say “highly recommend” they don’t say required so i just sent it.
@@dc5diego ok well Korey wrights turbo lasted 3000 miles because of this… usually when they say highly reccomend it means you should do it. They are reps of Garett turbos and Garett says it’s strictly non optional
Great videos, I really appreciate your content. I just got a 9th gen civic si and I’m also going down a project build journey lol and decided to post a few videos myself “although my filming and content is not great” but you guys are actually inspiring. You got my support! 👍🏾🙏🏾
you do NOT need coolant lines, just make sure you dont cut the car off when you park, give it a minute to cool down from the oil running through it. This is why turbo timers were popular back in the day. however.... cooling lines do help a lot
this is exactly what i figured, i did a lot of reading and the crazy part is the coolant flows through the turbo when the car is turned OFF through some siphon effect or something along the lines of that. But yes i let the the car idle for a few minutes after driving to let the turbo cool
Wassup bro this is off topic of the vid but I was wondering what tires and tire size is the best budget option for 14 civic ex sadly I don’t have a si 😿😿 I love your videos doe g ur civic turbo build is coming out fireeee asfff 🔥🔥🔥🐐💪
could depend all on your setup! if your stanced out and cambered you can run some 18’ wheels with some tire stretch or if you’re more street/track built then you can run some 17’ wheels with a meatier tire. thanks for the support! also fitment industries should have more info about what type of rim/tire you’re looking for 💪🏼
@@dc5diego I got stock rims I don’t have enough money to buy rims rn just wanted some good tires for stock rims but thank you for commenting back appreciate it 🫡🐐
The transparency alone made me sub, video hasn't even started and I'm impressed. "If you have a Honda, you have friends"
i actually appreciate this comment a lot man, i try my best to make the videos as transparent as possible :)

100% i believe the location isn’t a problem as long as it’s elevated, thanks for your input!
@@dc5diego 100% agree! 🙏 keep up the videos 🤘

Or switch to a pulsar PTE rep turbo instead of a Garett rep they’re air cooled

yeah solid point right there i will most likely do it in the near future but for right now im just enjoying it

Invest in a remote start kit, some have programs to have is running up to 15min before cutting off.
@@aragroxwho sell that? I been boosted since 2020
@@TheMarkofJay compustar one I have.
I agree that oil drain is a problem waiting to happen. Smoking issues and backing up
nahhh i believe it’ll be fine but will report back if it doesn’t work out! lol
Appreciate your fortitude, yet if your car 'is' the 'thumbnail' the rear camber alone makes the look broken 😂
the cowel helps deter rain water from entering the engine bay... you should probably keep that.
yeah i put it back on just cut out a piece for the wastgate dump tube to stick out :)
what heat tape did you use? did it stay stuck on?
that was sick, thanks for showing us!
yessir just tryna deliver more info for the 9th gens!
Next mod, definitely some hasport mounts. Or boomba ones if you're on that budet.
definitely need those hasport mounts!
Can’t wait to see the results
tune is almost 100%!
Why did you cut up the MAF? I have mine in and it reads my intake air temps just fine.. I'm 2 months boosted and street tuned
Great video Papi
You dont need to drill in the oil pan they make a fitting that bolts on the timing cover ebay
seen that! but just decided to drill it since i had everything bought already lol
