That exhaust shop has really upped their game since we last saw them. CNC exhaust hangers?! :) Epic episode, loved the music, the editing, the content.

As a ricer at heart I love that you guys are giving Honda some shine on MCM... At the end of the day we all share the same community and we're stronger together as they try to take it away from us.
I love the full build in under an hour. I know splitting it up is better for you guys but this is awesome. Also I feel like an old used Hondata would’ve been much more “budget” than calling in a pro from Haltech. 👀😂💜
I am glad you guys did this one. i know the Orange one was stressful, but I think it did the car a bit of a disservice. No one jumped up on or kicked the panelwork, no one complained, car looks sweet, people had fun.
When I was just getting into driving after turning 16 and getting my license, my friend who was a few years older sold me his 92' Civic. The day I got it we tore out the D15 and threw in a D16A6 and the manula trans as he already had the clutch assembly and engine harnesses for it in his attick. We eventually took the ecu to a shop in Madison, WI called Midwest Hybrid where he knew the owner and got it reprogrammed for Vtech. He even had a turbo kit that would bolt on directly however we eventually parted ways not being able to do work out a deal. Many years later I'm a father with a teenage daughter with a project ride I only take out in the summer. A 2004 VW Passat 1.8T Wagon. Been in the family for 10 years plus but has been mine for a couple years. Still have plenty more to do but I finally have my turbo charged ride that works even as a family car. Honda's are key for those just starting in the upgrade world and custom automotive. Simple and easy to get to as well as source for parts and upgrades.
Whoa!!!! That black eg hatch build was the absolute best civic build... that build let me know this channel was truly special and full of the greatest humor any automotive channel can give us
This is 1 of my favorite videos well done mates another little nugget just because it's fun and cheap. Thank you for sharing, everyone keep yourselves and love ones safe and healthy and remember to SMILE 😃 😊
I watched a few of your turbo builds for NA cars and one thing is not usually addressed, it is the lubrication system of the engine. Turbo engines have a different lubrication system than naturally-aspirated ones. It includes oil nozzles for spraying underside of pistons, oil gallery in the piston heads, oil cooler, different con-rod big end lubrication (no holes in the con rod big end) etc. Some NA gasoline engines do come with oil nozzles like the toyota 2ZR-FE, 2AR-FE, 2AZ-FE etc.
I had a 93’ civic with the D16Y7. I was going to copy my buddy’s build with 89’ integra gs-r and D16Y8 parts on the D16Y7 block. The engine ends up at around 12.5:1 compression and is super fun to rev out (as long as you use the proper fuel, must use premium after the build or the compression with prematurely detonate the fuel air mix. Best idea would be bigger injectors and E85 tune.
Loved this one!! Had an Ek D16y7 myself. Nothin' beefy. Threw a handful of things on'er. Such a fun ride. I'll have another again one day. Great video!!!🙌🙌🔥🔥💯
Lay the pipe down on the bench horizontal rather than vertical in the vice, I find it's much easier that way, get the balance to 60 percent for more cleaning if the pipe has been coated with anything, I usually use 200H for the frequency, hope this helps, love the show since day one keep on keeping on!
This show ( and tdc, all the gear) I genuinely look forward to each week and now even my friends that don't see cars as fun or entertaining are now seeing the light after watching too 💪🏻🚙🏍️

Beautiful car man . Jeff did a remote tune on my ap1 last spring with similar mods to yours. Couldn't be happier with the results, enjoy your ride nice weather has finally arrived in southwest Ohio!
I love and strongly prefer these longer format videos. I know RUclips has been attacking longer videos and trying to incentivize short, pointless videos as they continue to try to become TikTok, but those of us with a brain still prefer these longer videos. I used to have a Civic of this same generation not too long ago. It was an EX Coupe though. I bought it for $300 with a broken timing belt. Put a reman head on it as well as fixing some oil leaks and put in a new clutch. With all the new parts needed to get it running and driving well, I was into it for about $1000 (US). Drove it for a couple years before I sold it on to someone who commutes about 70 miles a day. It still runs great today. I thought about modding it but figured that with a modded turbo BL Legacy and a BD Legacy with an EZ36 in the garage, I figured it was a lost cause. Civics are better as solid, efficient, reliable commuter cars than they are as performance vehicles (unless you dump absolutely insane amounts of money in to them)
This is a super cool build! Hits close to home. i made around 250whp on my y7 stock bottom end. If you swap a vtec head theres a little more gains to be had and its a super easy swap. So cool its runnnig on a hondata! love it
I made 218whp out of my d15b7 on 14psi and E85 in my opinion this setup will make close to 200whp or more just by swapping the intercooler and piping that piping looks to be 2in or smaller and that intercooler is extremely restrictive. I personally would swap to a minimum of 2.5-3in piping and I'd throw a better intercooler on it. For reference my z6 rex only made 241whp on 20psi and had one of the cheap ebay 2in piping and intercooler kits on it when I bought it I redone it all with 2.5in piping and put a treadstone TR8 intercooler on it and it picked up over 50whp on the same 20psi making 297whp and made 388whp on 28-29psi which is where it started running out of fuel I've changed the pump to 450lp and went to a set of id1200 injectors and swapped to a Garrett g25 550 turbo and made 430whp on 29psi with the same 2.5in piping and intercooler mind you it's just a rod and Pistons z6 with springs and retainers ARP head studs and a Edelbrock intake no port work no cam and stock valves I plan on doing a built head and shooting for 500whp whenever this setup decides to give up but it's been running strong for 3 years now minus a head gasket and multiple transmissions lol I have everything to do a D2B trans swap just waiting for this one to throw the diff pin like the others lol😂
love it when... " elite 750 - BUDGET! " I just checked with the basic wiring harness its 1500EUR. Where I live, I have a decent salary, working as a graphic designer. and I earn less than 1500EUR a month... How things going in this country atm, I would never be able to afford it... I know its not their fault, I am aware of that. But love you guys :D watching everything for about... 8-9 years, and I do own a Honda! an EK sedan ;) building it for about 4 years. :) Keep it up ;)
when I turboed my single cam CRX I used a chipped OBD1 ECU, 255 pump and DSM 450 injectors with stock fuel rail and pressure regulator. it had a DSM T25 and it spoole dreally quick. 10 psi at 3,000 RPM all the way to the 7,500 RPM redline.
Always love seeing Dave and Scott in an episode Wish we could see more Isaac! He seems like an insanely knowledgeable individual and the way he speaks and the speed he speaks literally matches how my brain speaks lol! Amazing episode, love seeing 90s nuggets turn into flutter demons!

Nothing better than spending time with your mates who share the same passion as you and working on a project car. Reminds me of good times with friends after building an N/A-T Supra. It took a few weeks and we screwed up a bit, but we had a laugh and replaced the broken parts. This was way before a Supra cost the price of a house.
Much better as a feature length, thank god you didn’t spread this out over several months. Loving the MCM signature style, production quality is stratospheric
You guys always have those sick beats. Moog you rock
That exhaust shop has really upped their game since we last saw them. CNC exhaust hangers?! :) Epic episode, loved the music, the editing, the content.
they've always been good, but the best are always looking upwards, they did a great job
Full send David Lynch at the end. Niiiiice.
I can’t believe how long I’ve been watching mcm, I still get so excited for the new videos every time.
I love this channel, one of the best car channels on RUclips as far as I'm concerns. High quality and hosted by two blokes who just work so well together...what's not to like?
I’ve got this exact engine, you’ve just given me a new parts list and all the instructions! Thank you MCM! 🐌
Thanks for keeping it real !
As a ricer at heart I love that you guys are giving Honda some shine on MCM... At the end of the day we all share the same community and we're stronger together as they try to take it away from us.
Man, I'm glad mcm is still at it. Been watching since the start!
I love the full build in under an hour. I know splitting it up is better for you guys but this is awesome.
Also I feel like an old used Hondata would’ve been much more “budget” than calling in a pro from Haltech. 👀😂💜
There isn't a whole lot of budgeting here after a trip to the exhaust shop and t he half dozen other dudes helping with the build lol
We need more Isaac! He's so easy to listen to; the way he talks so casually yet enthusiastically. Awesome video lads!
MARTY AND MOOG BLESSING US BIG TIME HERE
I am glad you guys did this one. i know the Orange one was stressful, but I think it did the car a bit of a disservice.
It started as a budget build but escalated to not such a budget build
Love the Honda builds always …
So excited to watch this, everyone watch the ads to give the guys some bucks!
haha, just run it on repeat to give them more views, make 20 comments each, and like all comments! haha
@Alex if people dont watch at least 30 seconds it hurts their CPM
❤ Boost You Aussies are representing so well with the JDM scene. I really thought this was going to be rice, but it turned out to be nice.
Whoa!!!! That black eg hatch build was the absolute best civic build... that build let me know this channel was truly special and full of the greatest humor any automotive channel can give us
“Today we’re gonna turbo a civic on a budget. Let me introduce you to Dave from Haltec, he’s gonna do all of our wiring.”
Riiiiiiiiiiight….
"cheap build" uses $10k machine to cut metal
You can use cheap tools too 🤦🏻♂️
They hired a guy to do the exhaust breh that was his tool
Have you heard of cheap power tools? Actually probably not,you should look into them, you will be shocked
Been watching this channel on and off since probably 2014/5. I always forget how moogs voice over the vid always makes each one feel like a movie
Some NA gasoline engines do come with oil nozzles like the toyota 2ZR-FE, 2AR-FE, 2AZ-FE etc.
glad that every body is safe, keep up posted on all the repair stages.
The car looks beautiful cosmetically, the EDM bumper guards add a nice touch. Making the car look more utilitarian.
Been watching MCM for many many years, never commented. Wanted to say that I really appreciate that Marty says "kilometers" properly :D
Loved this one!! Had an Ek D16y7 myself. Nothin' beefy. Threw a handful of things on'er. Such a fun ride. I'll have another again one day. Great video!!!🙌🙌🔥🔥💯
I must admit, you guys going back to where you started, makes the video very enjoying and brings back the good ol'times
Lay the pipe down on the bench horizontal rather than vertical in the vice, I find it's much easier that way, get the balance to 60 percent for more cleaning if the pipe has been coated with anything, I usually use 200H for the frequency, hope this helps, love the show since day one keep on keeping on!
It’s really good to see a car build anyone can do that’s not crazy high hp just normal fun boosted car
I was so happy when RWB bought Haltech. My Honda powered kit car is gonna love Haltech.
This show ( and tdc, all the gear) I genuinely look forward to each week and now even my friends that don't see cars as fun or entertaining are now seeing the light after watching too 💪🏻🚙🏍️
Power isn't everything, it's how many smiles per gallon your cars bring you
I like how he didn't want to be anywhere close to the civid job, but he voiced the whole video. Classic.
Idont know if yall would ever see my comment or not but im so happy to see another honda on the channel! i remember the black eg with the pvc roll cage and the glue on brembos haha those were the days i know im just no body but im so proud of yall going so far on youtube and living the fulfilling life that many of us only dream of and yet you still come back to a lil good ole honda for some good ole great content and good times for us normal folk that yall produce from the gear drivin god blessed bottom of my heart thank yall for doing what yall do!!!!
Pulling the SAME FACE as Marty... can only imagine how scary it is SITTING IN the car while dyno power running it.. anticipating a BANG.. Great content as always.
This car handling is racetuned from factory, regardless turbo or vtec ! Love it !
Epic. Makes me miss my 2002 RSX. Dumped $3500 into a used Greddy turbo kit and a Hondata modded ecu, street tuned it, made almost 300 at the wheels. Torque steer and SSQV dosdos noises. Good times.
Beautiful car man . Jeff did a remote tune on my ap1 last spring with similar mods to yours. Couldn't be happier with the results, enjoy your ride nice weather has finally arrived in southwest Ohio!
Omg those clamps on the drivers side intercooler clamps. So easy to make them face the same way! My ocd is going crazzzzy.
Civics are better as solid, efficient, reliable commuter cars than they are as performance vehicles (unless you dump absolutely insane amounts of money in to them)
Great video! 👍 I liked how everyone came together to help and play!
Loving the tunes at 4mins or so in. Great work as always - the cars and trucks and then all the music production too.
The hiflex mechanic style gloves are the bomb! Glad to see other people using them
The montage at the end ... *chefs kiss*
love it when... :) Keep it up ;)
This brings back a lot of memories. I did the exact same modifications to get things working years ago on my EK. Mine was an eBay turbo for $500 lol.
I turbo charged my 2008 malibu with the 2.4 and 4speed trans and it made the car so much more fun to drive.
when I turboed my single cam CRX I used a chipped OBD1 ECU, 255 pump and DSM 450 injectors with stock fuel rail and pressure regulator. it had a DSM T25 and it spoole dreally quick. 10 psi at 3,000 RPM all the way to the 7,500 RPM redline.
i must say this , they know what they doing and it perfect.everything look so professional and in order..wish my local workshop like this 😂
Great video.
my friend has this engine in his civic he pushed out 180 whp with TD04 with 14 psi no lag, comes on boost at 1.8k rpm.
yep smaller turbo would be better!
Always love seeing Dave and Scott in an episode
Wish we could see more Isaac!
He seems like an insanely knowledgeable individual and the way he speaks and the speed he speaks literally matches how my brain speaks lol!
Amazing episode, love seeing 90s nuggets turn into flutter demons!
That is some crazy dedication for content creation! Thank you!
I wanna start my first project car at age 40 and I'm thinking about a Honda Civic. Easy to mod and find parts. Plus it's a JDM legend in my opinion
Definitely should tons of fun
Hi mate, try having the motor raised on a stable platform such as on a timber board supported by 2 jacks so your are not trying to keep the motor stable as well as trying to fit it into the frame. Good luck with it, great video. Cheers
awesome episode. i love seeing all the technical part with mcm and the haltech team as in dave and the tuning fork
