FFXIV - Dawntrail graphical comparison

Dawntrail marked a major graphical update, having previously seen this with World of Warcraft I was curios as to the scope, and if it would completely change the visual personality of characters some of us have been attached to for a decade- something that can be seen in WoW if you look at the retail vs classic models.
At a glance, the changes seem subtle though we know of lighting and texture materials changes. Closer up, I think the facial and hair alterations are fairly clear, and it is definitely noticed in cutscenes, particularly some of the older ones which had some wonky looking shadows.
