Oven Yogurt (wrapped in a towel): After you heat the milk, cool it & add the yogurt starter, like in the video, pour in into a pot (or leave it in one if thats how you heated it) and wrap the pot in a bath towel. Put the wrapped pot into the oven with only the light on (do not turn the oven on) and leave it in the oven for 12-15 hours. When you take it out you will have homemade yogurt.

Not trying to criticize you in any way...I have found that using a pair of tongs or wearing gloves to transfer any freeze dried foods will help with preservation and contamination of stored products. There is natural oil on your skin that could alter the finished product. I love your videos and all the information you provide. Thank you for all your hard work!
Happy Monday! Wishing everyone a wonderful new week! 🦋
You’re giving me this feeling of something like „I‘m home“ when watching your videos. Love this ♥️
Aww thank you for sharing your lovely family! I hope your hubby knows how lucky he is! 😊
You are an amazing person. I could sit and watch you cook, clean and decorate all day. I have had to miss a lot of the growing season this year with knee replacement surgery so while I might not be canning my own I'm going to use what you've taught me to do when I find bargains!! Keep these coming!!!!! Love em!!
You definitely sound much more calmer and peaceful. Totally excited to see you in this new phase.
I hardly watch your meal prep videos but I’m going to start & hold my self accountable to cooking healthier & by commenting on your meal prep videos
Oh wow! Thank you so much ❤️
@@AdalineZook yas no problem I’ve followed you since you first started your channel when the girls were teeny. I love following your story & your positivity
LOOK AT YOU! IN YOUR ELEMENT! LOVE SEEING YOU LIKE THIS! LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING MORE IN THIS NEW SEASON! ☺❤
Canned strawberries.... Hmm that might be fun
Hi there found you today and already saw a few videos.... I am loving your vibe and knowledge...
Love from Portugal 😍😘
I've never seen strawberries canned before, but it sounds like a very practical way of preserving to use later! I love all things food and really enjoy your cooking/preserving food videos!
THank you for such an inspiring video. My "Nanaw" was alive in the great depression and was a fantastic cook, canner etc. Watching this has brought back so many great memories 😊😊
You and cory are completely adorable. thanks for all the great ideas
Simple syrup! I'm also currently making yogurt homemade for the first time!
Enjoyed.
When i use to pit cherries to can when i fiished when i would put them in my jarsi would give them a little squeeze if they were still hard pit soft good to go love your helpers
Those strawberries look so pretty canned up. Thank you for sharing how to do this.
Love that he’s in a video❤❤❤❤ shows Gods love and growth🎉 also beauty I love you home and your sweet face!!! Also I wish I could be your taught by you! That would be such a blessing! What do you do with the yogurt? Why don’t you drink coffee anymore?
Dinner looked delicious sending you and Cory and the girls best wishes for the future❤
Love to see you make yogurt with those strawberries, love your channel
This is incredible that you take the time to do all this canning and save money!
Loved the intro🥺🥺
I love those little hands.... ❤️
This is the 1st video I watched. Great video!
Very ambitious projects...inspired with a few ideas for my garden produce.
Great video. I’ve been freeze drying for about a year now and never tire of trying new things! You may want to rotate your freeze dryer tray rack so that the orange heating surface pads are above the trays. The trays should not sit on the orange pads. Easy way to remember is “metal tray touching metal shelf”. 😊
Got it! Thank you!
was just about to say the same. i dont have mine yet but because of all the groups im in ive seen that mantra before too, the metal tray touching metal xD
Loved this Adaline. Your food preservation is always so pretty.
You can freeze dry your milk as well. I have been trying to build my dairy up for long term storage.
I would love to have just a little of your energy!! ❤️
Hello Adaline, I'm soo happy I stumbled into your channel because I need help with my meal planning game. I have been making homemade yogurt for about 4 years now with my instant pot and I have a tip for you to about scalding the milk. It never happened to me with my method. I pour the milk 1 liter at a time on container with a spout for easy pouring (perfectly fine without a spout, too), then I add 2 tablespoon of the previous yogurt and stir it with a whisk to incorporate well to the milk. I then pour it to glass containers in my case a glass of 1kg and one of 500g) thn I putthe lid on top without tightening them and put into the instant pot. Then I repeat the process for the other 1 liter milk(I make 2 liters everytime) which is perfect coz my 8qt instant pot can fit 4 jars and then I close the lid and press the yogurt function and in the morning I have my homemade yogurt ready! No need to transfer them to jars and my instant pot remain clean for the next use. I remove the jars and screw the lids tightly and let them remain in the counter for a hour or so before moving them into the fridge (to cool down). And that's it, no scalding and no messy instant pot afterwards!❤ ❤❤
I totally enjoyed this video ❤thank you so much for showing us how to preserve these wonderful summer foods. I am looking forward to your future videos. xoxo
Thank you for sharing the ways you preserve food. You've given me some new ideas. Can you tell me what food processor you use? I'm looking to buy one. Love your content!❤❤
Gets me enthused about canning season!
Pantry and cellar tour please. 🇵🇭
Inspirational. Thank you
Very helpful Addie!❤
I love eggs picked in beet juice!
Great video, I learned so much!
I love me some pickled red beet eggs!! Nobody does it quite as well as that region of the country.
Thanks,great video 😊
Love this type of content!
I was hoping that you would show us how to can strawberries in this video! Thank you!! Strawberries are in season here in the fingerlakes area of NY and I'd like to can some this week! I was also hoping your recipe was made with simple syrup instead of like most of the recipes I've seen that you need to macerate the berries for 6 hours and then cook them in their juice. This is much easier!😊
They are such an amazing thing to have on the shelf ☺️
Thank you for the inspiration! Going to start some yogurt! ❤
I love your videos!
Loving all your food prep and canning ideals! Definitely go to try the strawberries canned! I sure wish I had a bulk food store like the one you showed where I live! Much love and blessings always to you all!
Me 2
Thank you for sharing all of this!! I’m especially looking forward to trying the strawberries! Could you use frozen instead of fresh?
Hi Adaline, nice to see you again I’m enjoying your RUclips video anyways the syrup that you’re making when you’re melting the sugar in water it’s called simple syrup, similar to the stuff you buy at the store called guava syrup sweetener
Great video! I could learn a lot from you:)
Love the video !!!!!
A tip for pitting tart cherries, I use a paper clip with one loop bent out. I use the smallest loop and stick it in the stem end of the cherry, push down under the pit and pull up to remove the pit. This method is just as fast as the pitter you were using and it keeps the soft tart cherry more intact. You also know you’ve gotten every pit.
Your dinner looked yummy!
Love this tip ☺️
Great video
Have you seen the cherry pitters where you can do six or eight at a time? Would make quick work
Hope the doors come soon!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Good video 😊
Hello! Love your content. I just found your channel. I have been following Three Rivers for a few years now. I grew up watch my grandma can. And have recently in the last few years ventured into canning myself. I do have a question for you since you seem more knowledgeable with canning due to you family history. Does it matter what brand of jars you use to can with or is any canning jar good to use? Sometimes we can't find the mason jar brand or the ball brand and I grew up using only those. Stores however have been carrying some other brands. Are they safe?
If you placed the freshly roasted peppers in a lidded vessel you could have sweat off the skins….which make for a better roasted red pepper. 😊
Simple syrup!!
Water and sugar makes a simple syrup 😊
Hi! can you show us how you use your canned food in day-to day life? I've never seen anyone canning anything, so I also don't know how you would use canned strawberries, for example. thank you :)
Hey newbie here , where can I find you baked beans recipes. I’d love to give it a whirl here . That supper looked mouth watering-ly good 😋
To quickly peel your eggs, crack then roll on the counter and toss into a bowl of water. Do all, then peel. The shells will slip right off.
New subscriber to both channels so I am curious as to why you were living in tiny home at your parents hope I am not being to nosey but my first video was remodeled farmhouse❤
Fun tip to peel ur eggs faster...crack a couple times on counter then take a spoon & hold upside down & use the part u put in your mouth to slidw between egg & shell. Kinda hard to explain but the upside spoon is shaped just perfectly for the egg...
Also if you guys love pickles & banana pepper rings, try using the leftover brine from them to flavor your hard boiled eggs...so delicious...just let them marinate for a couple days like red beet eggs
Ohhhhh love this idea!!! We are going to have to try this!
Adaline I am wondering how you like refrigerator.. I have the same kind and it definitely needs some help with organization I. There. Please help
Could you use that canning method for any other type of berries? Thanks for the citric acid tip.
Yes!! Absolutely!
Hi Adaline, Could I please have a link for the food processor?
Just a heads up, your freeze dryer shelves are upside down. The orange heating pad should be on the top of the slot, not on the bottom with the tray on them.
Those strawberries!!! OMG! Cold you apply the same method to other berries?
Yes! And I do! ☺️
@@AdalineZook I'm gonna give it a try with some blackberries. This is one of the coolest canning recipes I've seen!
Would you ever be open to sharing some of the bulk food stores you go to?? As a fellow central Pennsylvania girly, I'd love to check them out ☺️
The main one I like is Whispering Pines in Mount Pleasant Mills PA ☺️
@@AdalineZook Aw thank you! I'm out towards Philadelphia but it looks like it's not too far from where my parents are, I'll have to make a special trip next time I visit them to check it out :)
I’m headed to Lancaster soon. Where did you get the blueberries for $1?
If you freeze dry the blueberries, poke them with holes..
Strawberries are Beautiful!
QUESTION:
I would love to can then without sugar, then add stevia sweetener when serving. I just don't know if that is a possibility.
Can anyone tell me please?
I tell you beforehand that I am not from the US, I am from Spain. That being said, in the US I would be considered a rebel canner😅. Here I am just a canner. One thing I do without any sugar added is apple sauce. I cook the apples (with skins) with cinnamon, I blend it to make a sauce. In the meantime I sterilize jars and lids. I fill them up (hot jars and hot sauce) and I water bath can them (in the same water where I sterilize them, to minimize water waste). I do it every year and it keep wonderfully.
Could u use monkfruit instead of regular sugar when canning strawberries?
Possibly! I haven’t tried it ☺️
When did you move? It looks like a different kitchen
In March ☺️
My husband wants a freeze dryer so bad! But it’s just the 2 of us now and I’m having a hard time spending that much money!
What store did you go to? I am in Pennsylvania too.. being able to get grocery cheaper like this would be great
Whispering Pines in Mountain Pleasant Mills PA
I CAN NOT! believe you found bell peppers that cheap I use them in everything when I catch a sale not good as your sale of course I buy so many and freeze them.
Do you reuse the flats? I’m genuinely curious. My MIL (who taught me to can) said to buy new flats every time. I noticed that some of yours had writing on them already when they went into the waterbath. Thanks!
Yes I do!! I’ve talked about it in the past, but I think I’ll share about it again soon!
Do they have to be fresh strawberries? What if I already froze them?
My guess is they would get way too mushy having already been frozen. But you could always try a few jars ☺️
Do you ever try to re use your canning lids? Or does that not work?
Yes! I re use lids all the time! I think I’ll share about that soon!
Is that the same food processor you thought about getting rid of a while back? Now aren't you glad you didn't?😀
Actually it’s a different one! The old one broke. ☺️
Do you by chance have a recipe without so much sugar or a substitute
You can try using less.. the strawberry’s just tend to loose their flavor without the help of sugar. That’s why I have looked into other options like the freeze dryer. And of course you can totally freeze them with out sugar as well ☺️
@@AdalineZook thank you
It appears that your shelves are upside down in your freezer dryer. It could just be reflection but you want to make sure the orange is on top. Your trays should not sit on the orange.
Yes! They were! But I flipped them around ☺️
