I've been binge watching Adaline videos from 2-5 yrs ago. To see the growth this woman has gone through is amazing. Adaline, you seem truly happy now. Getting back to your roots looks fabulous on you. I hope you and Corey are enjoying each other while working so hard!!!❤
Thank You so much!! This past year has been such a huge growing time for us and God has been faithful in healing us and bringing more restoration then I could have dreamed of!
I will say, I’ve followed Acre Homestead for quite sometime and don’t get nearly the amount of knowledge as I do here. I mean, her channel was good in the beginning, but it’s gotten to be to chaotic for me to sit through and watch. Plus she has stopped interacting with her followers when anyone has a question or comment; she just ignores a lot of people. She wasn’t like that in the beginning. So I’m very very happy to have found your channel now, it’s much more relaxing and I feel I’m gaining so much new ideas as well as actually learning things I’ve never seen before. Everyone is just so kind here, and I’m living for the aesthetics too! 😊
I LOVE my Victorio strainer! Total game changer for canning. Not sure if you take your skins and run them back through, but if you do, you’ll get a lot out of that “waste”.
Your Chocolate cake sank in the middle because the batter in the center wasn't baked long enough. Next time use a metal cake pan. Glass is a poor heat conductor and so the batter in the center of the pan doesn't reach the proper temp before the batter around the edges of the pan sets. Happy Baking!
I’m Mennonite and yes bars are made more often then cookies for parties especially. My regulars are peanut butter fingers . And that chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting is the best !
Hey Adaline, for the tomato sauce I wanted you to know that you don’t have to water bath them to seal. As an alternative to that cook your tomatoes the way you always do. put them in the jars and put the lids on than put the jars upside down as soon as possible. Keep then like that for 24 hours. Don’t move them until 24 hours and. Make sure before you fill your jars, jars and the lids are hot. Which you can simply heat them in your oven first. So yes My Mom has been using this method for decades and I’ve been doing it as well. it saves me time this way.
@@Iamhome365 To be honest I only do this method for canning tomatoes. I didn’t try it on for example for pasta sauce or pizza sauce or something like that. Something you do add other ingredients to your tomatoe. I believe you can use this method for marinara sauce too.
I live in the eastern part of Pa. We also make bar cookies chocolate chips, m &m bar cookies to name a couple. I love your videos. I think you are very knowledgeable and very sweet, and they are so enjoyable!
Love watching your cooking videos, you are definitely a pro at it! You make everything look so simple. You’re pumpkin bread looked so delicious Hope you have a great time with your family!
For tomato sauce, I only use it for my pasta, so I just pit a bunch of fresh tomato in my food processor and make a huge marinara sauce😊 Saves a lot of time !
All great ideas! You always make everything look so simple and you are such a great multi-tasker!! Loving how your kitchen turned out and is so functional yet beautiful. You are either a great editor or immaculate prepper...haha...girl my kitchen would have been a mess and I'm very fussy about cleaning as I go but still end up having remnants of my prepping everywhere! Hope you enjoyed the time away with family...embrace those moments...great memories for your girls they will always remember🥰
I am so excited to see canning in action! We don't have a garden at present, but are prepping one and although I put up green beans and tomatoes when I was a kid, I don't really remember the process! thank you for showing me some of the things that I need to know to preserve some of my produce! xoxo
I wish I could have you in my kitchen teaching me! Ur knowledge is amazing. I lost my mom when I was 25 and wish I wouldve paid more attention in the kitchen 😭 ive watched every single one of your videos and appreciate all the tips resources, menonite books u just shared (I ordered them). I want to be more self sufficient and learn. I have a 3000 square foot garden and want to get more into canning and possibly try jarred sauerkraut, and i have a huge dehydrator so I'm learning slowly food preservation.
We always look back and wish we'd done something. My granny made the most amazing white currant bread and oh how I wish I knew how to make it, I've tried but never did taste the same
If you have a freeze drier, I would suggest trying that with your next batch of tomatoes. You can either blend raw in a high powered blender to break up the seeds and freeze dry the puree and powder that... or you can cook it down a little to get some of the water out and freeze dry the cooked puree. Both are delicious and it's super easy to make paste or sauce, depending on how much water you add. It also takes up WAY less space on the shelf! Just a thought. You sure were busy that day! Hope you had fun on your trip!
WOW! Great recipes! Thanks for sharing. BTW - nothing wrong with pumpkin bread this time of year. Not on my usual summer baking repertoire but I have been known to make it and of course it gets eaten😊
I recently watched your pantry tour video and noticed that some of your jars had what looked to be lime on them which is the minerals in your water bath canner depositing on the jars. I recommend putting 3-4 tablespoons of vinegar in the water of your canner your jars will come out cleaner looking than they did going in recently shared this tip with my grandma who has canned her entire life and she was amazing give it a try.
I go through rings quicker using vinegar in the canning water. It tends to make them rust quicker. Since I like to wash the jars before putting on my shelf anyway, I put a bit of vinegar in my wash water and the lime comes right off with just a microfiber cloth.
Idk why i never thought of boiling water for pickles and such in the kettle! What a great tip. And i think i need a cranky thing in my house too 😂 looks so useful.
Can't remember if you have a freeze dryer but if you do the skins a d other things that go in the boil when you grind you tomatoes and be put in the freeze dryer and froze the grind it up. Them can use tomato powder or make small amou t of tomato paste for a recipe depending on how much water you mix back in.
On a video I was watching someone had taken a bushel of tomatoes cut them deseeded them and put them in freezer bags, froze them then thawed them out when they had time to cook and can them. When the tomatoes thawed the peel just came right off without blanching. In 45 minutes I had tomato sauce. Put them in cup servings and froze them. For some reason my husband didn't want me to can them. But having canned tomato sauce would be easier for spur of the moment cooking. 😅
Kind and gentle reminder to some in the comments... Pregnancy is beautiful and exciting, but it's also a sensitive subject and women can glow, avoid certain things, and wear certain things without being pregnant 💜
Thanks for a great video! I’ve been wondering how tomato sauce is made, I canned diced tomatoes last year, and now I know! I’ll be investing in the strainer. Again , thanks!
The dish that you made the artichoke dip in was so pretty! So many great ideas for weekend/vacation snacks! I live in upstate NY right in the middle of all the lakes! Which one did you visit? (If you can share.) There are so many beautiful lakes here!
@@AdalineZook Oh wow! That's one of the few here in NY I haven't been to yet! We have a lake house on Conesus Lake. If you look at a map of the Finger Lakes area of NY, it's the little lake alllll the way to the left, LOL. Going there next week with family. Hoping to bring along your Ranch Pretzels and Blondies!
Hello from central PA! Learning so much from you! Question I see that you use avacado oil. Does it have a taste? And where do you purchase the gallon of it?
Geez Adaline you made me tired just seeing how much you did in one day. You also inspired me to do some baking and freezing for company. I wanted to know if you ever use Stevia instead of sugar when you bake? I was diagnosed with borderline pre diabetes. I’m trying to cut back on sugar. Would love to know your advice.
Thanks for all the great food inspiration! I'm wanting to make those pretzels now, they sound so good! I heard that you pronounce worcestershire (wur-ces-ter-sheer), so that's how I say it. In England, names and words ending with a "shire", are pronounced "sheer".

Yes we do!! And funny enough, when I was making the peanut butter icing I accidentally dumped some of my 100% peanut butter on the floor and I call Zailey to lick it up for me! She loves when I'm in the kitchen! Her favorite days are when I'm making homemade chicken broth because I give her plenty of scraps 😉

Try pronouncing Worcestershire like this: Wuster-sure or Wuster-shure. It should come out a lot closer than your other attempts 😊
Correct is Woostershire
@lesleyhughes3174 No one in the U.K. says "shire" the way it is written, unless you are reading Tolkien. It definitely sounds more like "shure". My experience as a bloke anyway.
💜💜💜💜💜
Worst-a-sure. (I think...lol)
wurster-sher, with the accent on wurster :)
Hmm... drinking deca, wearing loose apron ..... could it be?
🙄
easiest way to pronounce it right:
worse-
teh-
sure
“Worst-Er-Sheer”
