I couldn't agree more with you about not wanting my sims to have babies until we get infants because right now there's literally nothing you can do with babies in the Sims 4. They just lay there and exist basically so having an actual life stage is going to be a really good change and I think there's gonna be a lot of people who instantly get on their game and make babies for their sim families when update comes out.
She hasn't had the time to have a baby, between waiting out the pandemic to get married and buying and renovating a house; Kayla definitely has NOT had 9 month's to spare between then and now.

I often download rooms I like and then move the furniture from that room into the room I’m trying to decorate. As well as the wallpaper. I recommend it if you’re out of room design ideas :)
