I love building community pool lots. I grew up in a neighborhood that had a community pool and I spent most of my summers as a child there. The are a lot of different lot traits that you can use if you want more than just a pool. One of mine also takes care of all the stray dogs. I also add playground equipment, a vendor food stall, sometimes a dj and dance floor. Just random stuff. In the off season I will plop a ice or roller rink in where the pool usually is. They will draw a lot of Sims once you go on the lot and are a lot of fun.
I feel like so many people say “you haven’t heard this one” and it’s always something dumb as hell like visit hidden lots, but as I thought you delivered a genuine new approach 🎉
One of the funnest things I've found involved that woodworking mod and the real estate mod. My sim went around "flipping" houses by buying empty houses, building furniture to fill them, and selling them off
My idea is to take a townie/sim that you like and age them down and play theough their life up to thst point. Alternwtively if theyre a sim without a family then you can make what you imagine their fsmily to look like
One more idea: make two sims with opposite traits (evil and good, neat and slob, active and lazy, etc) and make them live together (as lovers, siblings, enemies... All works) .
I like finding different legacy challenges and doing those because each generation is different and refreshing and forces me to use things I haven’t used in a long time/forgot about

The freelancer writing career has become my go-to career because you can make a fairly decent amount of money with it, and it forces you to level up your writing skills so you can write your own books to collect royalties, while it gives you the liberty to spend as much of your Sim's day doing whatever it is that you really want to do instead of having to manage them going off to a career all of the time and then coming home tired or hungry or whatever.
With freelancer careers you can make your own active career when you don't have a Get to Work EP. You can build a community lot (a library works best) that looks like an office and travel there to do your work and talk to your "co-workers" 😂 It was kinda fun
This sounds so fun! If you have get together you could make a club for all your “coworkers” and set the tasks to be computer based things at the office community lot. You probably could expand this to make other ‘careers’, maybe lifeguards at sulani, gardeners at parks etc. Omg thank you for the inspiration, I think I know what I’ll be doing this weekend now haha 😂

Each of the custom builds comes filled with rubbish (absolutely chokka) and you have to clean it up room by room by earning certain amounts of simoleons in order to progress. Off-hand I think it is 10000 per room (they have to be cleaned and renovated) then another 1000 to open the next room. Oh yeah you start with nothing. I try to furnish them with crafted items to make it more interesting. The rules are online. Sometimes I put all the lot traits on too just for laughs and add Haunted House. xxx
My fav way to play, is actually much in style with your first suggestion. I play the adult sim from start of cause. When married and have a child, I will then only play the child from infantcy, through toddlerstage, childhood and teen years, have them start a career as a YA and then have them have children when they are either maxed or high in their career. I play on long life, and give them a full life with friends that might stay friends all the way to adulthood. I make them leave the lot, give them hobbies and so on. (granted I tend to skip infant stage at day 3, and toddler when they have at least level 3 in 3 skills). That way, the game never gets boring, because when I start on the next lifestage, it will have been a while and I will be looking forward.
@@dalila2442 I do sometimes. Playing this way, can get you very attatched to your sim, and if I am particular fond of a sim - I play them to the end. 1:18 Not my storymode playthrough. The individual sims looked after their own needs, but when my MC sim got old enough, I was fixing everything in the house, taking care of the infants, toddlers, and getting the childs ready for school.... My MC's parents kept having kids, but they rathered play an instrument or video games then tend to their children. My MC potty trained 4 out of his 5 siblings. I had to create a base game college and dorm building just to get him away from the house.... Plus, I could grow every crop and sell them to make enough money to buy my own property.
I think the reason I don’t play how I use to, by slowly building a family & slowly upgrading my house etc, is funny enough due to the fact the outside worlds are so dead. I want to be able to go out to the cafe & see people there instead of getting there & it being empty then the most random sims show up & there’s about 3 people in the whole lot, one guy is doing push ups & the other is making a coffee instead of ordering one while the woman is fishing……. Makes it really hard to immerse myself in to the game, made me stop buying packs & now I usually go on for a few hours then not play for a few weeks.
I think there's a few of decades challenges on here, I can't think of who cause I war he'd then ages ago but deffo worth another search. I find it too complicated Nd too many mods required usually for me, I'm bad at keeping track of stuff so that doesn't help at all 😂
Loved this video! It was very helpful and the ideas were actually something that hasn't been suggested to me yet! Most people just offer more legacy variants (which aren't terrible but after a while gets repetitive with the whole family thing for me) I really appreciate a fresh perspective ♥
Thanks for this. I get bored of playing the same family for too long. I’ve tried a lot of challenges but get bored quickly. Recently I tried rotational play. I started with creating 6 couples who moved into affordable properties, all with random traits and aspirations picked at random. Then I’ve set mini challenges. So for example, round one was to give each couple a career ans play until pregnant. I’ve had rounds where I play until someone gets promoted, money is doubled, new skill etc. Elders move to one of 2 retirement properties ans play continues through the generations. I’m up to round 12 and haven’t yet got bored of playing. I’ve taken some ideas from this video and used them to create future rounds.
Love your videos Satch, I like to play with a posh couple of Sims then a common Sim couple and how they interact over dinner parties at the posh house. My other idea is the big boss visiting a workers house to discuss business then things go wrong. Happy gaming, everyone!
I think making the sims have friend groups helps me, I usually have a couple townies then another family I play with in it. I think deligracys tiny town challenge seems like a new way to play.
LittleMsSam also has another mod called "more woodworks REWORK" which gives your sim the option to "chop wood in forest". This has your sim go to a rabbit hole and come back with bundles of wood in their inventory - which then makes building furniture free. It's fantastic for R2R challenges and off the grid challenges.
One thing I've had fun with recently - and I feel like it's better if you have Wicked Whims, but not essential - is making a six or eight person polycule (multi-person romantic/sexual relationship). You either start them all as acquaintances or as enemies, and you make some shy, maybe add a vampire and a werewolf so it's more difficult, give some language barriers if you have Frankk's mod, or other conflicting traits, and then just slowly build up their relationships between one another.
Even though MCCC says it's not recommended, I will use that mod to completely delete all the townies in the game. Then I will populate the world with several singles and families that I've downloaded from the gallery. And then I wait for the game to generate some monstrosities, which I will then take into CAS and turn into lovely little Sims!
I just created a whole world that is 1800's. Everyone got a make over, I build and downloaded houses and sims. And created random sims to live in them. Can recommend doing that
I like to do a sort of inheritance style legacy play: whatever skills the first toddler/child recieve are automatically given to the next kid I focus on. It's a lot of fun for me to play as children for some reason, and I love trying to get to that child who has all the child skills and all the adult skills possible. I always require each child to individually gain the scouting badge too. Teens I handle differently from game to game. Sometimes inheriting either skills or aspirations. Sometimes each generation has a different teen goal. But that generation always gets second place after the next is born. I do essentially tend to play from the child's perspective most games.
I would like it a whole lot more if they didn't keep getting sucked into the machine (no matter their skill level). It's wasted time and really annoying. They should have just created weird, ugly but usable items instead, when they had a malfunction of the machine.
Legacy challenges can be fun! Specifically, ones like not so berry (or other versions) that have requirements for each generation. I love the park shell btw! I struggle with park layouts but love to build them so that's a good way for me to do it!
It’s cool to think of playing from a child’s perspective, I’ll have to try that! Not sure if this is really considered gameplay how I avoid getting bored is by downloading save files (which he’s covered on the channel before) really makes a difference if you’re tired of the base game. Gives the game a fresh look and feel. There are a ton, Better together is incredible to try out, it’s a base game compatible save file. It works really well especially if you have some of the packs, but not all! 😊
i love builds in the gallery that are bare bones furnished like the maker builds in the video i hate having to go in and remove all the decorations individually in a gallery build or remove everything and lose the appliances and have to start over completely
I very often play as a child because I want to create an ultimate sim that has all the traits you gain from childhood learning so I have a great adult sim that can go on and carry the legacy forward. I don't often like to play as an adult sim outright. Though, I did get bored one time and played as an elder sim and tried to see how much I could accomplish in my little time. It was easier before the expansions with crisis modes and whatnot, but trying to climb a corporate ladder starting at elder is a rush.
Thank you for pointing out the scout board to me again. I put it out once when I first got Seasons but I never tried to figure it out =) that should be worth a few hours of play....
I love working on community lots, a well done community lot makes the game feel more real (even though I only have the base game lot types, and just selvadorada as an extra world so, I need to make the most of each community lot). My first tip for other peolle is if you have a weakness in building then download other builds and upgrade them. And if you're bad at decorating, you can ask people to comment if they upload a remodeled version to the gallery. there are also simmers that like to do remodels or even build advice (sahm and bean is a good one). But for my overall strategy: Since I can't control a sim that's on a different lot, I try to make lots where every sim in a household can at least do something relevant to their in-game goals. And then I try to make the lots fit a theme for their lore personality. Like liberty lee, I never wanted her to go on dates until I made my esports venue. (It's not pretty on the outside, but I still like it. And I have a kitchy lounge, a wild and steamy dance club, a cozy bar, and a romantic park. I have 2 lots for general household skill building, a skill building park, and also the gym (which I styled to be a rec center and spa on different floors). Now I'm down to making the pool, and the museum lots.
I love your build style! I watch a lot of simmers but your houses are definitely the most "me". Brb, got to go and download these beauties from your gallery 🏃🏻♀️💨
I honestly love the freelancer artist career. But man, some of the high paying ones can be annoying! They rarely take the first icon you do without having to edit it or make another one.
If I'm not mistaken only members are supposed to be able to watch this right now. I'm not a member and the video is playing for me. Just thought I would let you know, and if I'm wrong then please just ignore this comment, or even delete it if you're able.
sometimes instead classic rags to riches i start with an expensive house (furnished or not) that way the bills are really high, but i dont need to sleep on benches and steal people's food in parks lol. once i also started with a very basic vet clinic and my goal was to grow the business. it's still a challenge to get money and pay the bills, but its not as tedious.
I have a save file of just chaos. I start off with 2 parents, 1 teen , 1 child and 1 toddler and 2 pets. Everytime a sim has bladder failure I punish them by adding an infant. So far I have 7 infants, the teen died in a kitchen fire, the dad got fired 😂, the mom is pregnant with triplets, the toddler was taken away, the 2 pets have run away and come back soooo many times. I just watch and never intervene😂
Satch, those shells you made for the soft rags to riches look great! I'm going to have to download them, so I can learn how to make a nice house. 😆 Also, the tip on the freelancing is a lifesaver! I couldn't find the ghost hunting one for the (after)life of me. Not used to having to select a job to select another one!
I often do soft rags to riches in the biggest empty lot (64x64 with Horse Ranch or Life and Death) and build a small house with the basics for survival and give them a computer. The quickest way to get rich that I've found is get sims into the freelancer writing career and also get your sims to write and publish books. After the first sims week you can be earning nearly 2000 simoleons a day just on publishing alone. It can be quite boring so I'd advise having 2 sims. I sometimes make female twins, one who's creative who loves writing and painting and makes all the money and one who wants to be rich and famous with the acting career. The lot starts small but the more money I make the more I expand on the house. Generally I wait until I have 100,000 simoleons then completely revamp the entire lot and keep doing that. I make one a family sim (usually the actress) and get her to have children. Now with Life and Death, after painting a masterpiece, buying the most expensive furniture and being rich your child sim/s can inherit everything and either waste all their money and have to sell it all by being party animals or slackers or you can have them keep the family business alive by mentoring them.
Letting us know which sims will walk around in world is so helpful!!! I kept making men for a black widow challenge, placing them in houses and then wondering why my sim never got to bump into them around town. It’s hard to do a black widow challenge when you can’t find any suitors 😂😂😂
The scout activity DO count for the 4 careers advanced to level 3 or more of the Multi-tallented Sim aspiration. Same goes for the Drama Club. Once played with two households, and, when playing one, members of the other often showed up filling various jobs. Especially those associated with some of their skills. One with maxed out Mixology skill would regularly stand behind the bar, and one with good cooking skill man some food stand. One with high guitar or violin skill would be found playing that instrument on various community lots, those with high signing skill spamming karaoke stands and those with good comedy skill monopolizing the microphones. Also, if one is a 5 star celebrity, he may replace Judith Ward...
I bounce back and forth between sims 2 and sims 4 , and sims 4 game play just lacks depth even small stuff like the want and fears are gone...1hr tops on Sims 4, I like the way it looks 😂 ...I'm base game only
Sorority or Fraternity playthroughs, CHild detective who tries to figure out a mystery (I keep a biographer who writes tell-alls and hides and sells the books)
Playstyle I'm doing rn: Every time I get a teenager, I move out with that teenager with no money on an empty lot and start playing the teenagers household (allowed to move some pets too). I'm slowly building the world this way.
Recently, I made a club where I had a toddler and a parent. I made a club where you had to cook and paint. So basically, I made money from them painting, and I got free food because the other sims cooked it. I had that money trash can, so the rotten food would go in there, and I'll get some cash. Kinda like rags to riches. Lol.
Our Lord and Savior SatchonChrist, helping us with ideas to improve our gameplay. thank you! I haven't played with community lots and gave me an idea for a gardening club for green spellcasters.
for me the most boring stage is the Infant, there's nothing to do, just keep the kid alive. and the most fun is the Toddler, the speedrun to get all skills full before being forced to age up is awsome
idk how only play one sim in a household is supposed to work if i try that my other sims just starve to death or get so energized that they also die so ya .. :D
@@LeavingThisTownYT Full autonomy in the sims 4 sucks. They can literally be starving and will go straight to the computer to troll the forums instead of making food😭😭😭
Golden girls gameplay, teen villain origin story, I like to run orphanages and boarding schools and group homes. But I need a builder to build something for me and I can't find one.
Idk if you've heard, but there's a mod called Djinnify Me. I have a feeling you might like it (no, I haven't played it, but I want to do it in the future).
@@lillylupton420 gives you the option to go on an adventure to become a Djinn (the og inspiration behind genies). Does require a bunch of packs that have different worlds like Snowy Escape, due to the adventuring aspect. I've heard it's really well written and executed. It's also very new (like a month or two old).
the rags to riches is actually my main gameplay. i always start with no money and continue to build my character. it’s getting boring quickly tbh. than i continue to build every skill in game and every aspiration. gaining money in sims is too easy
Thank you!! These are such great ideas. I literally googled gameplay ideas the other day for my twitch streams but like you said they’re all old 🫠 Definitely will play as a child now!

She was not so obese in the “before” and in another video you can see that a little bit of skin still remains, so it’s possible. If she did Chloe Ting’s exercises every single day and paid attention to her food (she showed everything in the other videos), it’s totally possible, but you really need some iron nerves to stay motivated as she was. I personally gave up Chloe Ting’s exercises because they were breaking all my bones and were too difficult for me, but if she managed to do them every day for 6 months, she deserves lots of respect. Also, the sportswear in the end makes it look way better than it what it really is (I speak based on my experience). Still, she did great.

It's fantastic for R2R challenges and off the grid challenges.
sims 3 and sims 2 are still fun 🤷🏾♀️😏
I use mccc to populate the game with my own sims. I can't stand randomly generated sims.
A park shell, thats freaking genius!!! More please, i love it!
I like using eco lifestyle to make furniture. I wish there were more options for making things. I do use knitting for rugs etc.
I would like it a whole lot more if they didn't keep getting sucked into the machine (no matter their skill level). It's wasted time and really annoying. They should have just created weird, ugly but usable items instead, when they had a malfunction of the machine.
Always look forward to these videos!
When I’m bored I play Palia instead
What's that?
@@BeaAdelineManlangit it’s *free life simulation MMO* available for pc and switch.
Yup me too
@@BeaAdelineManlangit looks like a crafting sim on steam, free
YES!!!!
Thank you for sharing this Satch. Love your vids, I always have a good giggle. Respect to you🤘🏼
Another really fun thing to do is also just like refurnishing random lots in the sims
But for my overall strategy:
Since I can't control a sim that's on a different lot, I try to make lots where every sim in a household can at least do something relevant to their in-game goals.
I love all names for the little patio covers/gazebo you use in your videos 🤣 pavlova, pagoda, padoga
I like to start with zero money on an empty lot, but even that gets too easy over time lol
I love your build style! I watch a lot of simmers but your houses are definitely the most "me". Brb, got to go and download these beauties from your gallery 🏃🏻♀️💨
I needed this. I just got into a car wreck two days ago so I'm really sore and my muscles are still inflamed but your videos always make me laugh 😂❤❤❤
Get well soon! ❤
Feel better soon❤❤❤😊
These were great ideas. Your video made me actually want to play the Sims.
I never knew why i wouldnt see my own sims anywhere. That all makes sense now 😂 time to make a shit ton of nice bachelors to liven things up 😂
I honestly love the freelancer artist career. But man, some of the high paying ones can be annoying! They rarely take the first icon you do without having to edit it or make another one.
Gold digger challenge in the sims 3 never fails
how do you play that?
This sounds fantastic! 🤣
How about a ruined lot or a half-built construction site lot that you have your sim slowly fix up and make their own?
Satch, those shells you made for the soft rags to riches look great! I'm going to have to download them, so I can learn how to make a nice house. 😆 Also, the tip on the freelancing is a lifesaver! I couldn't find the ghost hunting one for the (after)life of me. Not used to having to select a job to select another one!
I really don’t play then game much as a story issue. I love building.
IM a builder too. I hate game play
Maybe it's because I have been playing since Sims 1... I have tried all this before. Thanks Satch!
A shed….. A SHED?!?! WHY HAVE I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT I JUST PLACED MY WOODWORK AND STUFF OUTSIDE
The BEST thing I ever did in the Sims 4 is recreate Sunset Valley from the Sim 3!!! 😭
Lol.
Our Lord and Savior SatchonChrist, helping us with ideas to improve our gameplay. thank you! I haven't played with community lots and gave me an idea for a gardening club for green spellcasters.
what i like to do is make me, my boyfriend and my best friends as sims as accurately as possible and build a dream house oder a bunker xD
its kinda sad these videos exist bc the sims 4 is so dry and lacking
for me the most boring stage is the Infant, there's nothing to do, just keep the kid alive. and the most fun is the Toddler, the speedrun to get all skills full before being forced to age up is awsome
You know what I do, I get 104 sims (max if modded) and make little boxes and make them do challenges. 😁👍
❤this idea. Been playing a udc with super naturals. 😅 but even then the game crashes and shit.... so I play sims 2 family and have a blast!!!
I'm trying to create a save file with lots that are specific to my sims, like basketball courts and public pools, and senior living and teen hangouts.
idk how only play one sim in a household is supposed to work if i try that my other sims just starve to death or get so energized that they also die so ya .. :D
If you're playing on a computer the smarter self care mod can help
Full autonomy should be on
@@LeavingThisTownYT Full autonomy in the sims 4 sucks. They can literally be starving and will go straight to the computer to troll the forums instead of making food😭😭😭
@@Ca11MeMayb3 You are so right but I can’t handle without autonomy LOL. Am too irresponsible to supervise every one of them!
Whats the mod about and for? Pls explains
@@lillylupton420 gives you the option to go on an adventure to become a Djinn (the og inspiration behind genies). Does require a bunch of packs that have different worlds like Snowy Escape, due to the adventuring aspect. I've heard it's really well written and executed. It's also very new (like a month or two old).
i just switched to sims 3 and my sim was drunk dancing on the bar corner table.Humping the air lmaoo
Love all the ideas! Will definitely try them 🙂
Did you upload the "in the wall" house? I think it looks so fun and is one of my favorite videos of yours.
My favourite gameplay idea. Open the menu and click "Quit Game."
I always forget SOS is satch on sims so when you say it my mind automatically goes to DIY SOS 😂
the rags to riches is actually my main gameplay. i always start with no money and continue to build my character. it’s getting boring quickly tbh. than i continue to build every skill in game and every aspiration. gaining money in sims is too easy
I live the toddlers. My current game every day my Sun came home the toddler would meet her daddy at the door. Everytime.
Thank you!! These are such great ideas. I literally googled gameplay ideas the other day for my twitch streams but like you said they’re all old 🫠 Definitely will play as a child now!
Y’know what sucks? I get bored of this game for long periods of time but no other game can catch my interest (except for Cuphead) because I’m so used to the Sims and the customization. So I’m just stuck in video game limbo :/
I'm really hesitant to play ts4 after it decided to just randomly delete a game file I'd been on almost a year last night 😢
Lesson learned: always back up
Bro that's so sad, for real my condolences.
These are really great ideas. Thanks 👍
i feel like community lots are so hard to build with mostly base game 😭 there's just so little community lot stuff
I really love your channel! Not, I am going to download your lot and play 🤩
I will do the 1st idea and the crafter ideas ..
i love your vids
Can’t find the house on the gallery you showed on idea 3?
12:17 a… a pavlova? 😭😭😭
