Oooh you could have put up the 'no shoes'-sign from Snowy Escape in the entrance area. No sims would wear shoes indoors, and the littlest sims wouldn't accidentally eat dirt off the floor. If you do play in that lot, please consider it. It adds a lot of realism!
As an early childhood educator I agree this needs to be a career in the sims. People don’t usually think of teachers and curriculum for infants/toddlers but it’s so important and I love that infants are getting more attention now on the sims. I’m also so excited that building my childcare center is an option now!
I’d love to see an infant stuff pack that includes cas stuff for infants like accessories(pacifiers) exc, it could add the daycare career that only starts with infants and then at level maybe 3/t or 5/10 you could care for toddlers too
Right I have 10 years experience in Caregiving 3 being in day care and 5 being in baby sitting, 1 being As a CNA for the elderly and 1 currently as a DSP for adults with low functioning autism
I haven’t been in a daycare since I was a kid either but I’m actually finishing up with an Early Childhood Development class. Honestly, the build is pretty good, especially for how sims toddlers and infants are (and won’t be using a space the same as irl). But this has given me a bit of inspiration to make a sims daycare of my own!
this actually sounds like a great idea! I really like taking care of infants and toddlers in the sims 4, the 100 baby challenge is so much fun for me lol
It’s like a little “early years” centre. I think I want to make a community lot classified as a rec centre that has this type of thing for playdates, and maybe a room for baby showers.

i would love a daycare game pack or kit (or stuff pack rip), literally just the career and lot option, they could make it like they made bets or doctors? it would be so goodddd
as a high schooler who works part time in a daycare, a staff room is the most realistic thing LMAO u will not believe how often i catch coworkers going there for a break
Yo they should add a career to each kit… it may make people want to buy five measly items. Like imagine getting a laundromat with laundry day, and a maid job where you clean other sims houses as an “event” with Bust the Dust.
I teach early educators and one of my favorite things to do in Sims is build beautiful early learning centers (also--we are trying as a field to get rid of the word "daycare" because it tends to make people not take us seriously as professionals which is a HUGE issue in the early education field). I even used Sims to complete an assignment for my learning environments design class in graduate school a few years ago! I would LOVE to have early learning as a career option in the Sims!
I really hope Sims 4 comes out with a pack that includes more careers, as well as aspirations involving careers. Having an aspiration that's all about being ambitious and moving up in your career would be great for storytelling.
i've been wanting the daycare career back since the sims 4 came out xD but yeah, i always use the big ball pit and jungle gym thing in like a chuck-e-cheese style restaurant. its always fun to make
There is a mod for an active daycare career and its updated for the infants pack. It is called Tumbling Tots Co. I hope someone would find this information useful. (requires get to work and toddler stuff pack)
Just a “live in” kit would be nice, I got a mod not to long ago i forgot exactly what it’s called but you have a live in daycare, vet, restaurant, gym, and spa and I just love the option which is surprising to me it’s not built into the actual game when these careers and life updates come out but I honestly would love to see this concept come to life, in the sims obviously 😂
Not too long ago Plumbella did a video on a mod that adds a daycare career, and you can follow your sims to work! I believe it’s a little buggy, but might be worth looking into!
My current gen in my legacy is a stay at home parent and I’m always struggling to find something for them to do with their toddler daughter so this is perfect!
I hope we eventually get a daycare career but also, now that we have infants, I wish we also had an optional Preschool enrollment option just for toddlers. Just a rabbit hole, like the one school for children and teens. We don’t have to enroll them but doing so maybe costs xx amount of money per week and they learn skills faster. Also is helpful for working sims. So many options for both daycares and preschool.
When my kids were both really small, there were two different businesses that I found to be a freaking god-send. They were both toddler/small child friendly play places -slash- coffee houses. You pay a flat entry free, the kids get to run out into this big open space full of indoor play equipment and toys, and on the other side of a waist-high fence kind of divider was a bunch of seating, and a coffee house / tea house counter where you could get drinks and snacks. Oh, and of course the place had wifi and desk space for your laptop. So it was like going to a coffee house to do work, but half the building is dedicated to child play-shit to keep them entertained and distracted. I bring this up because this build made me think of it, and that'd be a great lot of have in the sims. lol.
Really love that you made a daycare center. As someone who’s worked in wine and set a lot of my youth in one, there are definitely some things you got, right, and some things I think you might’ve wanted to add. Do you love that you had a sleeping room, but was expecting you to add the night lights there. Still, I have thought that this was great.
There’s excellent mods for the Daycare Career by KIARASIMS4MODS and Tumbling Tots Co. by ITSKATATO. Hate that console can’t use them, but they’re both great on PC.
I love your content so much! ❤ My favorite part of the day is watching your daily upload right as it come out then rewatching your old videos. Never stop being great! 🎉
as someone who doesn't want children in the real world but has alot of fun caring for the infants and toddlers since growing together came out a daycare career kit would be right up my street
I have an idea for rags to riches: you could have a daycare by paying yourself $150 every child that comes to your daycare and you could just make most townies have a kid and then have a bunch of friends and have their kids come to your daycare
I wish they would change the rec center or park lots to allow sims to bring their toddlers and infants to those lots. It's silly that for my sims to meet other toddlers they need to just go to people's houses and that's it. It really limits how alive the neighborhoods feel
I've been saying since Growing Together that I would love a Daycare career where the tots would come to your Sims and while we're at it how about Pet Sitting too? 😃
I remember I built a daycare when I first got parenthood (2020-2021ish) and I LOVED making it! It was just parenthood and basegame and I thought it was so cute and really fun to make! Except that I didn't really bring my kids there, I kind of just had it in the world for "realism". The only time I brought a kid there was a toddler because I wanted to check it out, it was fun but there wasn't much to do other than colour and sleep. I hope we get a daycare themed pack soon or a basegame update! I love the babysitter career but I wish there was a bit more to it, I love using it for teens or young adults! (I don't know if I still have my daycare in my save or in my gallery, hopefully I do lol)
I have an idea that I think it would be cool for you to build. A retirement home. So it could be a place we move elder sims into. So it can be a bunch of elders, some couples, some single, living in the same place and you can go visit them.
this has also made me want to build a nursery in the Sims beause as someone who works in one I would make some different choices, not a lot though! But I'd keep the 'staff' area (ovens, grills etc) completely seperate so the kids aren't near it. This is really good though, I would only make changes due to my experiences at work haha :D
It's so cute. I like it. I think there should be a daycare career too. The kids get sent to daycare through a rabbithole so why not have a career for that. Maybe they will in Sims 5. One thing wrong with that infant playmat that came with infant update is once the infants are in it, they cannot get out of it, even when they can crawl unless an adult Sim picks them up. They're trapped. I tried it. Weird. I love this Daycare.
When I was a kid I went to a home daycare at this rich old lady's house bc my parents were always busy and she had like a mcmansion and idk it was honestly iconic and I keep seeing stuff about this recent daycare career mod and now this video and it makes me want it in the sims even more!!
I am a nursery teacher/daycare teacher in Spain and this is kinda far from the public “daycare schools” (idk how to translate the exact name) here you have separate spaces for each ages, and classes for the toddlers but taking on count what the sims offers, this is pretty good
I wish my computer was good enough to handle Sims 3 and 4 at the same time so I could go and play Sims 3 for a while. I miss playing it! I don't want to unload my game and upload then reupload what I am working on now just to play it but I do miss the daycare in it too! Great build! Toddlers and infants will enjoy this and probably kids too 🤩🥰😻
Kayla I love you omg I work at a day care and I love kids so much I have been praying we would get a daycare career. I want one so badly ❤. I love your videos
The chess table problem (that you didn't want it , but needed it for the lot to be a park) can be solved by minimising the size and sticking it in the 1x1 column I noticed you had in the build
3:15 in my daycare thing i used to go to they had like a giant brick wall surrounding the playground with one wall that had like really thick metal bars😂
Yes! A daycare, w/ a playable career. Casinos would be AWESOME to work and play at. Also since you have connections lol and I don’t have twitter, we should suggest being able to adjust their heights!!!! Tall and short sims instead of one height. Anyways , happy simming!!
daycare is my most wanted career as well. Currently if you invite over or go to visit the infants and toddlers, develop their skill levels, their skill will go up but they do not hit their milestones when you go back to play with that family. would be fantastic if they could fix it so they hit milestones
I always imagined those little stumps were like the little log things in playgrounds that kids climb and balance on. I wish the kids would actually climb on them and interact then you could make like a cool balance path
I would LOVE this! I’m all about family style gameplay that mimics normal life :) and I’m also an Early Childhood Educator, so why wouldn’t I wanna come home from educating young children each day to care for more children each night :P
The Daycare my little brother goes to has the kitchen behind the check-in in the front while the back area is for the toddlers. They have a playground connected behind the building to exit faster without worrying about the street and moving cars.
TS4 does have a "babysitting" career where one of the jobs is "Daycare Administrator." It's one of the lower-paid ones down at the bottom of the list. I've never used it because it's not something that interests me. (I never used the TS3 daycare career either.)

Now I want to make a kids play place. Jungle gyms and snacks all indoors so weather doesn't matter you can always play.
The Daycare my little brother goes to has the kitchen behind the check-in in the front while the back area is for the toddlers. They have a playground connected behind the building to exit faster without worrying about the street and moving cars.
Now that's really epic and it looks really cool
TS4 does have a "babysitting" career where one of the jobs is "Daycare Administrator." It's one of the lower-paid ones down at the bottom of the list. I've never used it because it's not something that interests me. (I never used the TS3 daycare career either.)
This! Also owning a hotel from sims 3 is a must!
This build is super cute! If I buy the toddler stuff pack, I’ll be able to use this build
I've made a daycare in magnolia promenade a while ago when toddlers came out but I too want an actual career so I can use it for more than just visits with my own toddlers.
This is legit so cute 🥰
Ok buttt also imagine a pet sitting career where people bring you their fluffy children for the day too🥹🥰
Kayla this is an AMAZING idea! Great job!
I need to get toddler stuff. This build reminds me a lot like the ymca I used to work at.
