Thank you for this informative video. As a Muslim, I can confidently tell you that eating and drinking in front of us is not a problem!! Fasting is just one aspect of Ramadan, as you mentioned. Our intention is solely for God, so it would be very rare to find a Muslim who is bothered or tempted by a someone eating in front of them. Just thought I'd share my perspective for those who may feel bad for doing this :)
Thankyou, what about in Eastern Turkiye ? Seriously considering changing our dates for our holiday as we don't want to offend anyone or have to eat/ drink behind closed doors. We want to be respectful too. Thankyou Fi
@@fistephenson4004 reschedule if possible for after Ramadan, because in Ramadan most people are fasting and not as energetic as they would be normally which could affect your trip depending on how dependent/interactive you want to be with the locals. But then again if your goal is to specifically enjoy the Ramadan atmosphere then no problem, so long as you are aware of that. I would suggest going at least in the final week of Ramadan so you can at least enjoy the festivities of the Eid(End of Ramadan celebration).
I just watched this video with my son. And I believe this year's Ramadan started yesterday. My son chose to learn about Turkey and I'm having a lot of fun learning alongside him. Thank you so much for the video. Maybe someday we will be able to visit turkey. Such a beautiful country and I love the culture.
You are such an amazing presenter. The way you covered this very important topic of visiting Turkey during Ramadan, is simply outstanding. Really impressed with the knowledge you carry about Islam and Islamic practices. Stay Blessed. Love from Pakistan 🙏
You also forgot to add that some locations are open later than usual and that the city’s transit system is extended to work until 2am during the month! 😄 Ramadan Mubarak everyone!
Muslim or bot Muslim fasting is the best gift we can offer our body. Because of Ramadan, fasting became so popular around the world, specially with health conscious people.
Thankyou for making such a beautiful vedio. I have visited Istanbul earlier however not in Ramadan. As I muslim Inshallah(God Willing) will try to visit this Ramadan.
Hi Bery, thanks for a very informative narrative of Ramadhan in Turkey. Please let me correct you that Muslims fast from dawn till sunset. Our early morning prayers, is dawn prayers, to be perform anytime between the crack of dawn till before sunrise. It is known as Suboh prayers.
Another outstanding video. Your excellent channel is so informative and is a “must see” for visitors and new immigrants like myself. As spring is right around the corner, we’re going to watch your tulip video again to get ready for that visit. Maybe in a future video you could include a refresher on getting around using dolmishes (sp?) and scenic bus routes? Routes just to ride for fun and the scenery like 16D along the sahil on the Asian side and 48A from the Marmaray to Eyüpsultan on the European. Thank you again for your fascinating content.

Hello sister from Pakistan👋.We dont mind when nonmuslims eat infront of us.Its totally fine. You can try fasting as well.It has medical benefits as well if performed in a proper way. Happy Ramadan to all my bros and siss🥳
Healthy fast is the Christian Orthodox fast. We don't eat meat, eggs and dairy products (milk, cheese, sour cream, etc.) and we don't eat vegetable oil on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We eat during the day and sleep at night. Sorry, but eating at night and especially eating such heavy meals at night is not healthy.
We wil be in istanbul during the last two days of ramadan and then the Eid. I wish you could make a video explainig how the eid is and things we can do then.
Keep in mind that when you are fasting, it's important to refrain yourself from anger, foul language and bad manners or else you won't benefit from the rewards of fasting.
Bery, thank you so much for such an amazing video! Love how you've shown the traditions of Ramadan in Istanbul. It is slightly different in our country. Also, can you please make more videos showing around Ramadan? Would love to see Uskudar area and like group iftars in centres or mosques where people come together! 😊
Sure! That was the idea at the beginning, we thought that as every previous year there was going to be tents and tables at the main squares such as Sultanahmet and Eyupsultan but for some reason this year there was literally nothing 😅 not even concerts after the iftar, we kinda got sad for that, we were expecting seeing the lively environment as previous years but this time nothing, we’ll try to look for a place where they are doing it and show it, hopefully there is one tho.
@@BeryIstanbulTips Bery, I think like most countries they will also have it a little later, let a week or may be 10 days pass and then most probably you can see more of that on the Asian side! I hope they do so, would love to see you sharing more Ramadan content in general aswell. Love each and every video of yours! ❤️
Sure! It is in Eyupsultan and is called Hangah Osmanli mutfagi is just in front of the mosque. Hello, very nice to find your channel, there is a lot of information that I needed to plan my trip, do you think that in April I can go to the beach area and have good sunny days in addition to Istanbul? I would like to visit antalya, for example, do you think it's worth it or go another month?
Im a Muslim and actually I personally don’t mind non Muslims eat in the open. To me, it should be business as usual except that we Muslims just don’t eat in the day. I have to respect those who don’t observe Ramadan and their meal time. And actually i had planned to go to Istanbul in 2020 overlapping with early Ramadan just so i get to mosque hopping and pray in the many mosques in the city. But then the pandemic hit and crushed my plans.
Thanks for these vids very useful.. planning to visit Istanbul in the Eid break with 4 year old twins.. was wondering do the Havaist Buses from Istanbul Airport to Taksim have a bathroom?
