    got mine for 700 after the discount code, comes tomorrow. Cant wait, i got a cheap 300 dollar scooter off amazon that goes 19mph and i get around pretty ez on that, but this has nearly triple the battery and shocks. I cant imagine how much smoother things are gonna feel on that morning commute.

      It’ll be a night and day difference haha. Like moving from a Ford Focus to a Cadillac sedan. What I love about this scooter is its versatility compared to your typical commuter scooter. Having the extra ground clearance and suspension travel gives you way more options for riding over obstacles. Plus it’s got the seat which is actually quite comfortable if you need it.

      @mykal2803 5 месяцев назад

      @NiSE_Rafter I got hit by a car, about 2 min after I got my first helmet. It bent the back disk break but that's all had to order a new one waiting on it now everything else runs and works. Pretty tough I'd guess. They haven't gotten back to me on warrantee though. Not sure if hit and run counts? Idk.

      @@mykal2803 Dang that sucks! At least you had the helmet 👍. Sounds like you're doing okay though?
      And unfortunately I don't think hit and run counts as warranty... That's more of the idiot driver's liability than the company. Although if it's just the brake disk at least that doesn't seem too hard to change

    Such an awesome video review. I got mine in a week ago and upgraded to the PMT tires made in Italy🇮🇹
    They’re worth the $150 cost. I highly recommend them. It’s like floating on a cloud with this scooter.
    I also feel like I get much better acceleration, speed and handling when using the saddle (upgraded that to a 13” wide memory foam from Amazon)
    I’m a 6’2 235lb rider and have reached speeds of 36-37 when riding it like a moped on false flats

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  4 месяца назад

      The PMT tires are so nice! And whisper quiet compared to the stock hybrid tires. I enjoy the seated configuration a lot more than I thought I would haha.

    • @dephataznboi
      @dephataznboi 4 месяца назад

      I'm also looking into the PMT tires for the Leopard. Did it really increase your top speed that much? I'm around the same height & weight as you & only get up to 30 mph on flat roads.
      I would ditch the OEM tires without thinking twice if the PMT tires gave me that much more performance out of this scooter since I hardly take it off street.

    That was fun to watch! I really like the fact that it does not have an app. I have a NIU, and it almost went back in the box right after I bought it, to be returned because of the app. It still reads miles on the scooter and kilometers on the app, does not seem to record miles/kilometers with much accuracy or reliability, and the blue tooth seems unreliable, you have to turn it off and on repeatedly sometimes. I get the impression the whole scooter could stop working when the app crashes for good.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  3 месяца назад

      Yah my NIU wouldn’t record the trips or mileage in app correctly. The app itself looks great, NIU just needs to have someone on their product team actually use their own app to see its deficiencies. If they fix the bugs, they’d have a great app.

      I would check out this site thebestbikelock.com/. They do thorough tests of most bike/scooter locks and tell you which scenarios each is best for. It definitely helped me a lot. I spent way too much time looking at locks haha.

      So anything above 55 - 60lbs isn’t fun to carry around in a folded state. It’s doable but really not comfortable. Plus scooters in that weight range are also larger and easy to bang your legs with. They are definitely waaaaaaaay more comfortable to ride compared to the sub 50lb category, but are a bit more difficult to transport.

  • @turtlepowersf
    @turtlepowersf 5 месяцев назад

    Only 61 lbs without seat?? It's listed at a few tenths under 70lbs on the site. Problem is, im a fat guy, and a few lbs over the stated max rider weight. I think i may need the extra power of the gallop, but 85lbs is a bit too much. My first scooter was 97lbs and i told myself id never get one that heavy again for commuting.

    • @tomsgadgetgarage
      @tomsgadgetgarage  5 месяцев назад

      Yah the seat adds quite a bit of weight. If you’re above the max weight I’d recommend the gallop. The dual motors make all the difference. When you commute with it do you take it inside with you or do you lock it up outside?

    • @turtlepowersf
      @turtlepowersf 5 месяцев назад

      @tomsgadgetgarage it would be coming inside the building with me. Security is kind of a pain where I work, too. I haven't asked them directly if I can bring a scooter inside, but I have a feeling ill have a better chance of slipping through the cracks if I'm carrying a folded scooter vs just pushing it inside with the stem upright.
