Just FYI - I did the analysis - MLM is 0.26% lower on ball speed, 0.00% diff on club head speed, and -1.42% less on carry (driven mostly by the 289/279 numbers). Spin also on every shot, both axis and backspin, are almost spot on. For the price difference of $20,000+ that's incredible accuracy.
Solid results so far from what I am seeing. It’s a pretty small variance overall other than launch angle appears to be consistently 2 degrees or so low on driver. I think the last shot spin axis was 1 degree different but in the right direction.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos when you think you are comparing to a unit worth £20k and the variances are so small, it’s looking great. Add club path and then for me as a mid handicapper it is the perfect unit for home use. Accuracy (almost !!) of a £20k unit for just £649 here in the uk. Looks like it knocks the socks off the R10
Played it is very slow mo on the last shot, and the center of the hit mark left on the screens was a hair left of where the ball was tee'd up. Since the MLM2Pro is behind the ball watching ball flight with both cameras and doppler, that very subtle difference is probably why it caught it going 0.1 degree to the left instead of o.3 to the right like the GC4. Ordered my MLM2Pro and very excited to see this type of accuracy at a fraction of the cost, for trading a few more feet of room needed to get it functional.
Amazing!! This makes me very happy and can't wait to get my own MLM2Pro. Very impressive numbers for the price point that the MLM2Pro is at compared to a $20,000 machine.
I want to see outdoor data to see if it is feasible for range sessions for people who do not have an indoor setup. Using range balls and different wind conditions.
The launch angle being off is certainly acceptable at this price point… also it is consistent with how off it is which means it should be an easy fix with a patch… This is the simulator for the people 💯
Now sure what you mean. I have it setup level and exactly behind 7’. I do plan on testing by moving it a bit and even tilting just to see. Thanks for watching
GREAT comparison Jay really well done as all of your videos are. This little unit is a bit of a game changer! I’m really excited for this market segment
I just got a r10 a month ago. I see a mlm 2 pro in my future. I’m within my return period and may have to take the r10 back. Carls golfland the land of golf plenty is where I practice.
This is really impressive. There MLM was great outdoors but was terrible indoors. Looks like they got the mlm2 to be a prefect fit for someone not wanting to spend thousands. Did you try wedge shots to see how the spin and distance looks compared to quad? Would be cool to see high spin shots and how they are read. Also, by any chance do you have any qed marked balls to see if they work? I know it’s a completely different design but was curious. And if possible, maybe try the callaway marked balls on qed if you still have that unit setup. Would love to know if they work or not.
So far wedges have been solid. Check out my 95 yard approach shot playing some holes on awesome golf. I do have some QED balls and can test. I was told by rapsodo they pattern is precisely done and placed so only use RPT so I would assume it’s going to have a downside. Also the QEDs are two pieces so wedge is low spin higher launch and data varies a bit. I think if something alternate works it would be the same pattern placed on a ball in the same spots. Thanks for watching

And they only really mention what comes with the subs, and there doesn’t seem to be much left, but if you still get full 3rd party access with accurate spin that be enough for me. Things I would like to know. 1. What functionality is available without the subscription? 2. Can you use 3rd party simulators like Awesome Golf without the subscription? 3. Nice review and comparison again. I think its pretty obvious that the MLM2Pro is accurate enough for the price. Accurate spin axis is the real game changer that sets it apart from the Garrmin R10. Interesting to see how it compares to the Mevo+ though. The Mevo+ is just a bit too expensive for most consumers so it would need to prove to be significantly more reliable than the MLM2Pro to get me to consider it.
I’ve shown mevo+ against camera units. It does well. With offering putting and other features and no subscription I think it just finds another place in the market. But a lot of personal preference comes into play when choosing.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos do you have a person preference one out of those two (Mevo + or MLM 2) that you think is a better choice? I’m really torn between them and if the Mevo is worth the money
It would not be accurate. Rapsodo has been clear the RPT exact dot pattern is vital for indoor measurements. I could do it for fun but I don’t see why someone would want numbers that are not as accurate or possibly misleading? Thanks for watching
I think what he meant was regular balls with the same dotted patterns. I don't think we have to buy the exact same model balls... Just make sure that you have exactly the same patterns. I am sure somebody will create a tool to mark the exact spots. Just create a transparent foldable ball cover. When you close it mark the marks from top. Then open holes using those marks. Vaila ! You have a MLM 2 Pro golf ball marking tool 🤣

But, I think since it measured with camera locked in from that point that tilt of the unit doesn’t affect it a lot. Could you let me know how far from the screen and strike zone you have the MLM2 placed. I followed the instructions but its ball speed for drivers is low by more than 20%. Wish mine was working the same as yours is
MLM2Pro is 7ft unit to ball and I am just over 10ft ball to screen but that really does not matter as far as flight since indoor mode is only measuring the ball in a few feet.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos I have tried the same distances when using a net outside. Driver is coming in 20% short in distance and the same with other clubs. Not sure if it’s maybe the difference of a screen versus a net but definitely not working this far.

Rapsodo’s support team have asked me to compare it to toptracer next time I am at the range but I really bought this to play at home versus going to the range.
@@scottread1187Very interesting. It has to be a setup thing and or radar interference. They do not disclose it all but I think the radar reads ball speed which would be a big factor of carry. Try to eliminate any metal in the area and test it.
Incredible accuracy. That last ball, I actually think the Rapsodo was more accurate at 279 carry. When I've hit a few at 162 ball speed, I've never got a 289 carry no matter how optimal launch is.
Yeah, it’s all about the algorithm and that’s why I mentioned it. Most people do agree that a low spin drive like that tends to have a little more carry on the foresight algorithm. I’m very impressed with the results overall so far.
Years of data from Foresight & Trackman have taught us how important faced angle & path is at the moment of impact, so it is a little surprising to me that these numbers are so close at these speeds & price points. I know everyone loves the big drive, but if you really want to improve your scores the typical amateur, which most of us are, needs to work on 150 yards in and perhaps even more inside 100 yards. That said, I’d love to see a longer video of various touch shots that are so crucial inside 100 yards where it’s not a full swing I’ve been watching the channel for almost 2 years now looking to build a poor man Sim and Rapsodo looks like the most bang for the buck in my budget range but I’m afraid I’m gonna miss the club face data.
I’ve just knocked out what I can the first day. I have shown quite a bit from 150 and a few approaches on awesome golf but I will do more as soon as able.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos I too would also like to dial in the wedges in a home sim. Do you feel like this unit would be good enough to get accurate numbers within 1-2yds?
No phone can run to a projector with a hdmi dongle. Currently the rapsodo app doesn’t do landscape on a phone but awesome golf does. It sounds like rapsodo will be updating the phone app to do landscape as some point in the future.
how far behind is the unit from the hitting area? and how much ft of ball flight is it capturing? my setup in my basement seems to really be producing some wonky numbers with the Callaway RPT balls setup with the distances that is recommended in the manual. using a net vs an impact screen so dont know if that is a factor. i didnt think it would be
So the just to mention a few main differences would be skytrak sits on the side and this behind so easier right left play with MLM 2 Pro. Skytrak can use non marked balls though and has more powerful included software as far as immersive 3D graphics and options as well as more 3rd party software choices. A lot of personal preference comes into play with these. Also, skytrak does not work well outdoors as this unit works well outdoors but does not measure spin.
Do you know if they are doing anything about the backspin on the app? They one thing I cannot seem to get is backspin on wedges. They get yards of rollout which never happens for me in real life.
I would be interested how it reads LA. If a camera is locking into the ball it is measuring launch angle from its place I wonder if tilt even matters. I could tilt it back and forward to see I suppose 🤷♂️
I can but really it’s not the best test. Two radars and technically cause interference plus Trackman doesn’t measure indoors. Better to compare to camera system like GCQuad or EYE XO which I have done.
They look comparable when first testing. Maybe I’ll do another with awesome golf as well but I think it’s similar overall no big difference. I’m just surprised to see carry numbers close with launch angle being low a few degrees.
Looks a great unit for price . Be interesting to see how it reads short chips as r10 can be bit fussy . Definitely considering this unit in near future . Hopefully the techies will get it working with GSpro !! ⛳️😎
I did some short chips in my first video. I couldn’t get below like 8-9 yards but some are reporting like 4. I will continue to test and see if lighting or placement closer to the unit etc helps. Thanks for watching.
Is it possible the rapsodo is slightly out of level front to back? If it is set up 8’ behind you and it is 1/2 degree out of level it is going to throw off the launch angle. Overall, the numbers are amazing and I can’t wait to start using mine that just arrived yesterday.
No I used a 3 axis level to ensure it was level but I know my floor is level as well. I also just tried tilting it a bit and seemed the same. It might measure LA from the point the camera locks in so tilt might not matter much. Rapsodo is aware of the findings and should be an easy update I think since the carry alg seems spot on so might just be the number reporting.
What I would like to see is if you can recreate the dot Pattern with a sharpie or paint pen and see if you get the same results. That would be a great video
You definitely do not want to use sharpie or pen into a screen it would stain it badly. But, rapsodo it tell me when I asked about stickers etc. that the pattern is very specific and placed precisely so if it was off it could affect accuracy. I don’t doubt people will try alternatives though. Thanks for watching
any chance you could test GC quad on a real life outdoor range? Specifically trying massive hooks and draws? As was as pushes, etc? Just curious if GC quad is actually measuring say a 50 yard right to left hook that starts out say 30 yards offline to the right? my golf game is not great lol
Great content! Does the MLM 2 Pro give any measurements or indications of club path, club face at impact, or lie angle other than using the slow-mo replay? I'm mainly wanting to find out if I'm swinging in-to-out/out-to-in, am open/closed at impact, and if I'm toe up/down at impact. Thanks!
The accurate ball flight tracer will tell you your path, face angle. Not exactly but if your hitting draws or hooks your in to out with a possible closed face. If it goes straight left and hooks, you came out to in with a closed face. The accurate spin axis and shot tracer made this MLM my choice. The Mevo+ would be great but you need to put another 1500 dollars along with purchase price to get face data. No thanks.
Impressive. Looks like it's a very good unit for the price. To bad the course software is not very good. Have to get 2 subscriptions is a bit unfortunate if you want better course simulation.
Great comparison Jay, and very handy info for anyone that buys the MLM. You seem to have added some chs over the past 6 months. What have you been doing to achieve that?
Thank you. You are correct. I have been able to keep it 110-112 with highest now being like 114-115. I think general fitness and practicing lower body strength in my swing has helped a lot. I hit 169 so far with ball speed but haven’t passed it. Problem is past 165 seems to spray a little still 🤣. Thanks for watching!
@@rufussthoo4083 I’m not complaining haha. I’m torn between my stiff and x stiff ventus now though. I lose a little ball speed with the xs but the stiff seems to have greater dispersion. Need to keep swinging!
@@elizaisacatgirl809 interesting! There has to be a specific reason for these few it’s happening to. I’m not sure if you guys saw but they want you to submit feedback through the app because it sends them data to narrow down what is going on.
So my question…. Is it even worth ever using a regular golf ball with the rapsodo? Because if the spin numbers are that much different without their callaway dot ball, then you aren’t really getting ANY accurate numbers?? Just curious..
I was specifically told by the Rapsodo rep and I’m sure they are correct, that you are not going to get accurate, spin or spin access with limited flight, not using the ball with the proper markings
I'm a bit disappointed that the MLM can't get swing path, face to path, and angle of attack. The impact vision has all the information in it they would need to calculate that pretty easily, hopefully they can update with it in the future
Man, if GSPRO can somehow work with the Rapsodo I might make the switch from my R10.. Just gotta decide if I want to have 2 subsriptions if I do instead of 1... (heard you need rapsodo premium to have all the features, 1 year is included)
The video I’ve been waiting for! Absolutely insane that you can basically get almost identical data from the $700 rapsodo that you can from the $20k GCQ! Seems the only thing that is off is the launch angle but I bet Rapsodo can easily push a software patch to get that corrected.
Are you saying you’re distances are wrong with the unit you have? Mayne seem to be spot on based on testing so far. You might want to open a support ticket to verify nothing is wrong.
I would like to see if you can make shorter chips if you chips closer to the unit. Saw in your other video about 10 yards. But should be able to get chips down to 1 yard.
@@johnathanwetherill456 Have you ever played indoor SIM GOLF? - you need very short chipshots. Try a downhill chip 7 feet away on a downhill lie at Augusta with 12 stimp green. Good luck mate 🙂
I think you are comparing total different units though. They offer a lot more comprehensive data and software. They are still selling a ton at their prices. Just might not be for everyone.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos yeah I can see the constant reliable accuracy of the higher end units being more appealing to Pro’s, college players, and instructors but for most of us it’s overkill (IMO), but everyone is allowed to spend their money how they see fit, I’d rather spend all that money on instruction and have a cheaper home unit haha Keep up the great work, love the videos!
@@noodles_GA It is not even accuracy as much as the measured club data, putting data, etc. But, regardless this I think fits really well in the lower price category and most don't need or want those advanced features rather would prefer a lower price like you are saying. So stupid question..... Why the heck would anyone get anything other than the MLM2???? Seriously for 700 you are getting something that competes with 15-20k machines... This is the game changer we all have been waiting for!!!
A lot of it comes down to personal preference or needs. This is a great unit for the price based on my testing so far. Some people might not want a subscription or to deal with marked balls, others might want putting or need club data for teaching or fitting it all just depends. Not necessarily because l am having trouble with carry numbers and I have a slower swing speed with typical driver carry on the golf course of around 200-210 yards. The mlm2pro is giving me carry numbers for my driver of 150 on average. That's not real close.

No phone can run to a projector with a hdmi dongle. Currently the rapsodo app doesn’t do landscape on a phone but awesome golf does. It sounds like rapsodo will be updating the phone app to do landscape as some point in the future.
Can a projector run straight from a mlm2 pro if it has WiFi and apps. Thanks
@@aubreyboys3281 no, the MLM pro 2 has to connect to a device. The apps/signal comes from the iPhone or iPad.
Were you using the mlm ball that rapsodo provides?
Yes, you have to. It’s a must to get the proper data indoors. Outdoors (full flight) with regular balls it uses radar and does not measure spin.
how far behind is the unit from the hitting area? and how much ft of ball flight is it capturing? my setup in my basement seems to really be producing some wonky numbers with the Callaway RPT balls setup with the distances that is recommended in the manual. using a net vs an impact screen so dont know if that is a factor. i didnt think it would be
Can you please test the MLM 2 Pro against the GC quad for indoor wedge/iron shots? Amazingly, nobody has done this yet.
So with this launch monitor I can connect it to my computer and use it as a simulator on like E6 connect?
Yes check out my previous video showing Awesome Golf for PC using MLM 2 Pro. Thanks for watching
How much space do you have in your bay?
The setup is 7’ unit to ball and just over 10’ ball to screen. The room is 15’ wide and 10’ ceilings.
For indoors how would this compare to Skytrak ?
So the just to mention a few main differences would be skytrak sits on the side and this behind so easier right left play with MLM 2 Pro. Skytrak can use non marked balls though and has more powerful included software as far as immersive 3D graphics and options as well as more 3rd party software choices. A lot of personal preference comes into play with these. Also, skytrak does not work well outdoors as this unit works well outdoors but does not measure spin.
Do you know if they are doing anything about the backspin on the app? They one thing I cannot seem to get is backspin on wedges. They get yards of rollout which never happens for me in real life.
What about mlm 2 pro vs Mevo+ 2023? Which is better? Specialy for spin axis.
They both sit behind so most likely would interfere. I can see if possible but I have shown mevo+ vs camera like eye xo to verify it.
The launch angle delta could be do to level of memory it might be canted forward a little
I have it level as can be, even verified with a 3 axis level.
Spell check doesn't like mlm
I would be interested how it reads LA. If a camera is locking into the ball it is measuring launch angle from its place I wonder if tilt even matters. I could tilt it back and forward to see I suppose 🤷♂️
great vs. thanks for this video!
Thanks for watching
I’m new to all this, would I be able to pair this with something like GSpro or other software?
Did you use the Rapsodo dotted balls for this test?
Hi, I was wondering if you could compare mevo plus pro v trackman?
I can but really it’s not the best test. Two radars and technically cause interference plus Trackman doesn’t measure indoors. Better to compare to camera system like GCQuad or EYE XO which I have done.
Does Awesome golf vs MLM2PRO software give the same numbers? I know it differed with the Garmin R10
They look comparable when first testing. Maybe I’ll do another with awesome golf as well but I think it’s similar overall no big difference. I’m just surprised to see carry numbers close with launch angle being low a few degrees.
How did you get it to to cast has full screen and not the size of the phone. Are you casting it from something other than an iPhone?
I’m using my iPad Pro 11”. Thanks for watching
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Thanks ill give it a try!
@@GolfSimulatorVideos thanks for the reply....I wonder if you can buy the balls separately from Rapsodo? Just Incase you wanted to get more
@@ramsinessapour8906 yes they have them by the dozen on the website.
any chance you could test GC quad on a real life outdoor range? Specifically trying massive hooks and draws? As was as pushes, etc? Just curious if GC quad is actually measuring say a 50 yard right to left hook that starts out say 30 yards offline to the right? my golf game is not great lol
I’m more interested with a quicker swing speed cause I’m about to purchase something but I haven’t seen the Rapsodo with anyone above 125 club
Yeah sorry, no 125 happening from me :)
Fastest I have hit on it is 114 once 🤷♂️.
No thanks.
Hows the connection to e6? I hear there is no license yet.
I will get a video up as soon as it’s ready. It sounds like they are just working out the details from what I’ve heard
Impressive. Looks like it's a very good unit for the price. To bad the course software is not very good. Have to get 2 subscriptions is a bit unfortunate if you want better course simulation.
Yeah I think their focus is hardware for sure. Thanks for watching
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Thanks Jay. The advantage it gives you, over the 'old' speed, is noticeable. Time to 'up my game', I think 😁
@@rufussthoo4083 I’m not complaining haha. I’m torn between my stiff and x stiff ventus now though. I lose a little ball speed with the xs but the stiff seems to have greater dispersion. Need to keep swinging!
My distances are completely off on this thing. Not sure if it’s my set up or what. Been so frustrating!
Very interesting. Mayne seem to be spot on. Might be worth opening a support ticket to see if anything is going on. Thanks for watching.
I am also not getting accurate carry, launch angles and club speed and have contacted rapsodo support.
@@elizaisacatgirl809 interesting! There has to be a specific reason for these few it’s happening to. I’m not sure if you guys saw but they want you to submit feedback through the app because it sends them data to narrow down what is going on.
Were you using their special Callaway RPT balls? I'd be curious to see how it works with regular balls (or on a very good range ball).
You have to use the RPT balls to get spin and axis numbers if I read correctly. The dots on the RPT balls is how the Rapsodo measures.
Yes. I mentioned that in the video. You won’t get proper spin or spin axis without them.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos Missed that, thanks.
@@daniels.8788 no worries, thanks for watching!
@@GolfSimulatorVideos thanks! 👍
Yes, that is correct. You do need the subscription. Thanks for watching!
Given how it's performing, I'm sure the port to GSPro will come out quick (especially since it's supported on E6)
Hmmm add 3 degrees of lift and save $7000 or pay an absurd amount of money. Tough choice lol.
Thanks for watching!
Amazing numbers
Thanks for watching 🍻
The video I’ve been waiting for! Absolutely insane that you can basically get almost identical data from the $700 rapsodo that you can from the $20k GCQ!
Seems the only thing that is off is the launch angle but I bet Rapsodo can easily push a software patch to get that corrected.
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts
🤯 Great video!
Thank you! I appreciate you watching
My one is way out 144 ball 275 carry don’t make sense. I’m finding ball a carry way down . On same swing on top Tracer. Ball was 162 288 carry
Are you saying you’re distances are wrong with the unit you have? Mayne seem to be spot on based on testing so far. You might want to open a support ticket to verify nothing is wrong.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos I will do thanks for helping. Yes I’m saying my unit is out way out thanks again
I would like to see if you can make shorter chips if you chips closer to the unit. Saw in your other video about 10 yards. But should be able to get chips down to 1 yard.
I will experiment more with chipping soon. Best I got was like 8-9 yds so far.
WHY ????? You don't need a sim to practice 1 yard chips ?
@@johnathanwetherill456 Have you ever played indoor SIM GOLF? - you need very short chipshots. Try a downhill chip 7 feet away on a downhill lie at Augusta with 12 stimp green. Good luck mate 🙂
That scares me cuz on my MLM2 Pro I feel like I have been launching my driver way too high LOL
No way GC and Trackman can continue their current pricing with all of these sub $1000 monitors being this accurate
I think you are comparing total different units though. They offer a lot more comprehensive data and software. They are still selling a ton at their prices. Just might not be for everyone.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos yeah I can see the constant reliable accuracy of the higher end units being more appealing to Pro’s, college players, and instructors but for most of us it’s overkill (IMO), but everyone is allowed to spend their money how they see fit, I’d rather spend all that money on instruction and have a cheaper home unit haha
Keep up the great work, love the videos!
@@noodles_GA It is not even accuracy as much as the measured club data, putting data, etc. But, regardless this I think fits really well in the lower price category and most don't need or want those advanced features rather would prefer a lower price like you are saying. Spend it on lessons! :) Thank you for watching!
Wow so impressive
Thanks for watching!
if only someone would make it compatiable with GS Pro
It’s brand new, I wouldn’t doubt a smart tech guy is working on it already :)
Would love to see the difference using premium balls
Based on the data I’m seeing I would say Chromesoft X RPT would be considered premium? Regardless not alternative right now.
Many of the devices find their spot in the market and I feel like this is finding a nice opening for sure. Thanks for watching
@@GolfSimulatorVideos thanks your videos are great !
This device is junk. No better than the garmin R10 approach.
Would love to know why you think it’s junk?
@@GolfSimulatorVideos he works for the competition who just got blown away . LOL
Not necessarily because l am having trouble with carry numbers and I have a slower swing speed with typical driver carry on the golf course of around 200-210 yards. The mlm2pro is giving me carry numbers for my driver of 150 on average. That's not real close.
@@elizaisacatgirl809 have your reported your concern in the app feedback? I’m sure there are going to be individuals have certain issues as so many setups, clubs, swings etc vary. Hopefully it can be resolved quickly but doesn’t mean something is junk since so many are getting good results.
@@GolfSimulatorVideos l don't think the mlm2pro is junk and l have sent them a message but have not received a reply yet.
