Simon! You have such an artist's eye. I'm always impressed by your work, as you know. You are also much more confident in your work, too. You should go back and look at your videos from last year. You were so worried that you weren't doing well, but look at you now! I'm still very proud to own a piece that you made.

I've said to you before, Simon, that I like things turned from gnarly wood, and that bowl pushed my personal "Like" button. The sinks and end-grain bowl were simply beautiful, especially the color on the maple sink. Clyde

Love that Ambrosia wood bowl. Fabulous! I've never seen a hand turned bowl like that, with the bark framing the brim of it, lending it more unique character ....The Beauty of Wood Turning is that the outcome of each piece of wood is left up to the Artistic Eye and sense of Adventure in the Heart of the Craftsman.

A that cherry sink is incredible! I love imperfect, hand made objects, so the wavy cherry is even more beautiful than the first impression you get. Imperfect work highlights the beauty of a man made object, as opposed to machine perfect. We get machine perfect all the time, so seeing an object that is intrinsically beautiful, but the way the artist chose to make it and the evidence of his work is what makes it beyond beautiful. Like you sir, you have skill and a good eye for beauty! Keep up the Amazing work!

Love the bowl. Gorgeous grain. But, did you notice, looking down into the bowl, if you turn it just right, there is a face in it? The two holes are the eyes. The grain pattern makes a nose and the bark inclusion makes a mouth. It’s like abstract art. It makes the bowl even more beautiful. Good choice to use only the wax coating, by the way.

Lovely work! If a client really wanted to have a sink made from that burl, you could use brown epoxy sticks to fill the major voids and wane, then finish with the clear coat epoxy. We use the brown epoxy on knotty alder doors to fill voids, and they are barely noticeable on the finished product...
