Pinchas Zokerman also becomes gray. Time can not be avoided. When Zuketman was young violinist I met him for the firet time off road in potography. But his rendition is excellent and well mature like autumn's red apple. It is gorgeous and staggering.

Personally I think this is a violin works which doesn't match Beethoven typical style. The sonata was dedicated to Kreutzer who found the piece incomprehensible and never accepted to perform it.
I see you are as dumb as they come. You dont know the origin/story of the sonata, and anyone can immediately recognize the theme and variations as a master work of beethoven. Please remove yourself from the internet
His bowing comes from the arm, unlike most violinists, whose the power come from the hand, with a bowing from the arm you get a lot more of power. When I started playing, my power also came from the hand, then when my teacher showed me how to use the arm to produce a more powerful bowing, the difference was phenomenal
Absolutely right, same here. Also keep in mind of you playing in a big hall and not using as much power as he is, there is no way you can overwhelm or get your sound across. He even says “I play to the exit sign” and that is exactly how you play violin.
@@ZacharyHamiltonMusic yes for a violin sonata the violinist memorizes! Otherwise you probably haven't practiced that much. I used to memorize strong quartets too; it makes you free!
@@meyerbeer13 I guarantee you, Zukerman has practiced and performed the Kreutzer Sonata far more than anyone either of us could name. To suggest otherwise is petty, and totally misses the point. It is absolutely acceptable and common for sonata performances to be given with both players using sheet music. Occasionally, it is done without, but in the end it makes no difference. The music is what’s important. And no one can touch Zukerman with an interpretation like this.
Zuckerman the best as usual. But the pianist? So much pedaling. Horrible. He ruins the harmonies and the balance between the piano and the violin. It is so unBeethoven.
I love to listen to Pinchas Zukerman , to this wonderful sound he can produce. Thank you very much.

And just think… this was LIVE.
Do you know which chinrest Pinchas Zukermann uses?
I think is a Turner chinrest or Hill model.

very heavy bowing
Steve FOX But still so effortlessly accomplished!

After the first forte > chord the beginning is marked piano. Compare for instance with Bell, Mutter, Kopatchinskaja.

What? This doesnt make any sense to begin with. Sorry, but no one cares
Balance is not good ,the piano is too loud. I love Zukerman's sound.
Couldn't he memorize the music?
Usually you don't memorize the sheet music when playing chamber music, like a violin and piano sonata.
