@@HolmesHobbies ESC suggestions for this motor on my rig? (Ccw battle axe chassis, tgh 2low trans , hard core rc high clearance titanium links , 1.9 x 2.75 trenchers on brassed out ssd wheels.. 9.4lb rig
Hello master! Me and a friend talked abut rc motors and the heat that generate. At what temperature does an electric motor start to become too hot and loose efficency? Brushed and brushless?
So out of the brushed offerings, which one will be best for drag brake? I've got a crawlmaster 550 13t in my wraith and it can't hold on hill. (Running a 1080 with full brake)
My go to basic crawler moter is the trail master sport 540 27t great for trail runs & hills plenty of drag brake & wheelspeed on 3s paired with Dyamite 60amp esc, Spectrum SR315 reciever & Savox 1231 high torque servo all around $180 total for electronics, have fun with rc 😉👍
I run the same crawl master in my wraith, but geared 86/13, seems decent on 3s, but I've had super good luck with 12t 550 trailmaster, on the same gearing it will front flip the truck when you let off the trigger.
I just put in a copper head 10 esc and motor combo crawler edition. But after i went to test it the motor from castle did not hold my crawler. In place on a slope I just ordered the ten shooters I hope it holds my rig on a slope????????
careful. I ran a holmes motor on a stock truck. it burned up in five minutes, and they said that I should have done a gear reduction for that motor, so it wasn't covered.
what esc would you use with the 10 shooter if you are running vanquish portals, also what gearing would be optimal?
Just got mine. I was running my puller pro yesterday and thought to myself I love if this was a tad smoother on start up. M mm
John, you are not going to tear me away from my hand wound brushed motors!
Thank's John I'm a stable brushed crawler I really enjoy your 540 trail master sport 27t I have about a dozen crawlers most of them have that motor 😉👍
Me too Tim, I feel like his motors are all over my shop! 😜
Very nice. Just answered multiple questions I had. Freaking awesome content thanks
Same questions asked down below purple 10shooter with what esc do you recommend for vanquish portals along with what pinion gear?
Crawlmaster v2 esc. Stock gearing
I appreciate the comparison. Thanks
Me personally? I think you should make your own build kit. See how that goes! I would buy it
The sherpa is about as close to it as possible

Good stuff! You look great man!!

Any increase in temperature reduces efficiency. We typically say 160f for trailing and 180f max for competing
@@HolmesHobbies oh wow, well then we're safe, we measured his motor to about 50C after about half an hour of driving

Torquemaster 550 21t, or trailmaster 550 21t for budget

So being made for comps, can you full throttle back to forth to self right?
As long as the esc and battery takes the amp load. With sensors its not going to glitch. Add plenty of punch control and no prob

the full size 540 should have more hold, stubby will be similar. Increase your geardown or reduce vehicle weight if it still coasts.
Will it work fine paired with the MMX2?
yes!
Hello from southeast alaska how's your day going bro
I wish you would branch off into Infraction and limitless size motors designed for speed.
Would a trailmaster pro 2200kv be good for a budget capra build. I am using a copperhead esc.
absolutely
@@HolmesHobbies or what about the crawlmaster 10 pole1800kv. Which one has better low speed control do you think?
