Since the Grosjean crash I don't think it's easy for a F1 pilot to kill himself. So they should do a 14 lap race there and every driver who has safety concerns stays at home. Would've been an epic comeback to the F1 calendar

@@huberleon_it's the cameras field of view. The early 2000s cars looked so much quicker on TV because there was less of them and more track, barriers etc filling the space. It is a shame though now we have the whole bottom filled with a halo and then a pop up on top of the halo covering even more screen 🙄🤦♂️
First, they wouldn't be fast enough even if they went for the record car and driver wise. Vettel and DC are quick drivers but at the Nordschlife knowledge is the main factor that differentiates the speed of the driver and compared to Timo Bernard, Vettel and DC have basically zero knowledge of the track (that's if they have even driven around the track before). Secondly, the car just wouldn't be able to handle the track at full speed, the bumps and sharp elevation changes are too much for the F1 cars to handle
Modern F1 cars (Yes, these V8's are modern) don't really have the setup room to go full clap at the ring. It's a shame but they weren't LMP's and they never will be.

I dont think anyone is stupid enough to go full out around Nurburgring in an F1 car. And even if anyone was, they wouldnt let them anywhere near a million dollar F1 car.

@@zuzuke.. not this track, aside from how large it is, there aren't any soft/tire barriers, the track is quite narrow in most of it, and most importantly, the track itself just is too bumpy, uneven, and small for modern F1 cars. They wouldn't be able to fully gun it even with all those safety provisions, because they're just not made for it. Now if the track was widened in areas, repaved, and basically set up the way other actual F1 tracks are, it would be brilliant, but it's just never really going to happen as it stands

Hats off to the Red Bull beverage company for pouring its profits in to sport and motorsport in particular. They're sponsorship and patronage has enabled countless young people to pursue a career in these fields.

This really is one of if not the scariest racetracks to go full out on and clearly Vettel isn't even doing that here and it's already scary to watch from the camera mounted on the roll hoop, imagine how much scarier it would be from the drivers view sitting so close to the ground. Amazing to watch.
In 1968 Jackie Stewart beat the entire field by over four minutes in his Matra. he did this in fog and driving rain, he also drove with a broken wrist. that puts everything into perspective for me.

They will NEVER go full speed on this track it is way too dangerous and it would DESTROY modern f1 cars!!! In order to race on this track the track would have to be entirely rebuilt and widened to accommodate modern f1 cars and modern safety standards!

Beautiful track, incredible cars and two fantastic drivers (happy Coulthard stepped in when Danny crashed :'( still sad i couldn't see Danny and Seb in RB colours together again).
He wouldn't get close to the record. The RB7 is like 7 seconds slower at Spa than the 919, now on a 3x longer track it isn't getting close. Also Max hasn't driven at the Nordschlife (outside of sim racing) and knowledge of the track is arguably the most important factor at the Nordschlife so he wouldn't get close to Timo Bernard's (he has raced 11 Nurburgring 24s, won 10 in class and in the 1 he didn't win he podiumed) lap time in the 919. You would need a 2017-2021 F1 car if it could even survive the lap or go fast enough with the massive setup changes needed to survive the bumps and sharp elevation changes of the track.
