After using the e-bike for my first ride in Spain, I decided to use the Deviate Claymore for this ride, and throw in a very big (for me) climb.
The reward for my efforts though, was a very long and hugely varied descent all the way back down to Ainsa 910m below.

Man, your pace on trails I'm assuming you've never ridden before is ballsy. Chapeau, Andrew!
Rode this one once before in 2018.
Living the dream mate. Looks absolutely amazing 😊
Thanks a ton!
Great Ride…. Keep the video coming… Outstanding job.
Cheers…
Thanks, will do!
Beautiful ride! Thanks again for taking us along.
My pleasure 👍
Going well there buddy great video and trails 👊🏻
Glad you enjoyed
@@McTrailRider unlucky with the drone 😣😣
Fun ride along, gracias. Getting definite California foothill vibes from your rides in Spain. Cheers
There’s definitely some more trails in Spain that I believe will resemble California too 👍
...One awesome video! top work on the slog to the top but boy those trails looked sweet with you smashing through on the deviate - nice one Andrew, cheers
The juice was worth the squeeze 👌
Love a bit of Ainsa dirt 👌
Can’t not love this place 👍
What a great place to shred!
100%!
Flat out n fearless lol. Top trail well ridden. Well done.
Cheers 👍
really nice trail
I reckon so 👍
Great riding! Such a rewarding descent. I've only ever done the second half, which is already pretty long in its own right, so it must have been huge from the top.
Yeah, it’s a great, long run normally. More is always better though 😜
Very cool Andrew...be well ! thank you
Thanks, you too!
@@McTrailRider Did you resolve the drone issues ?
@@cb6866 kinda, still got to pay £319, as it was my fault 🤦🏼♂️
nice !!! trails look great looks like you were flying down there.
It certainly felt fast 🙈
Great video Andrew, it looks stunning out there…..😊
I think you would appreciate some of the scenery for photography mate 👌
@@McTrailRider Yeah, looks incredible. Have a fantastic trip buddy. 😊
Love that trail. It’s a shame the end doesn’t finish near the start
That was amazing bro . Great trails n ridin mate . Beautiful views mate . Living the gd life eh bruv 👏👏👏👏🍺
Sure am! Cheers👍
@@McTrailRider hey yw bud . Luvin watchin the adventures bro
love it!
Cheers
Since you are in Spain, I recommend some routes in Tremp, which are Slick Rock and Roques Pelades. You're going to like them a lot.
do you have some specific trails to recommend ?
@@mtb.barista These 2 are highly recommended by hardliners. There is much more in the area such as Dragon Khan, Serengeti & Afghanistanrail. They are all cool, but the most desired are those from Roques Pelades and Slick Rock.
Known about Tremp for a while now, and I’m pleased to say that I’m heading there tomorrow 🤘
@@McTrailRider I'll see your videos from there.
5:10 i always wear gloves after falling off my road bike at age 13... gravel bits under my skin ...lol
Haha, can’t say I haven’t had similar experiences 😬
Andrew You should try Magura brakes. I’m using MT7 with HC3 levers for close to three years now and I can honestly say they’re the best brakes I’ve ever used. Super powerful, loads of modulation and they are really quiet 🤫.
They are good brakes for sure. I went with the RSC’s, as I used them before with good results. I just needed brakes that I knew works work for sure.
I haven’t personally used Magura, so couldn’t know for sure.
Great run! What tires? Kryptos F/R? Full DH casings? Inserts? Amazed no flats on that, likely the case for myself on heavy ebike at least.
Everything correct, except no the inserts. Tyres have certainly come a long way in a short time👌
Looks fantastic - how is van life going ? Conversions working well ?
Good enough. Never managed to get the diesel heater sorted before I left, so that is the main issue. Other than that though, its works surprisingly well.
Yikes, it’s cold at night in the north in January
Loving the Spanish rides, hope it works out.
Thanks dude 👍
Heading out to Ainsa in March with Basque MTB so these Spanish videos are building the excitement nicely.
Why dont you try Hayes Dominion or TRP brakes? The Dominions are easily the best I've used and I'll never go back to SRAM and there horrible sticky pistons.
You should be excited mate, and Basque out on such a good show 👌
Say hi to Dug for me.
Heard great things about both those brakes, but I knew that I liked the RSC’s from prior use and that they are quiet.
I didn’t want to risk trying something new, as I needed to fix the noise problem with one lot of spending.
How are you getting on with those tyres? I just put the kryptos on the back and tried them out today at Ae, and couldn't fault it on they sniper roots
These are my new go-to tyres. I think they are great. The Michelin’s were possibly a bit better at gripping rock though, but that’s not as important in the UK of course.
Amazing this just popped up and am there in 2 days as we travel to the coast. I gusse z trails is the best resource for the area.
ZTrails is definitely a great resource, it should have all the info you need tbh. Make sure and hit a place called Tremp too, if you can.
@@McTrailRider was made up to find ztrails. It's a great format that other areas could follow for sure. Have really enjoyed your channel. Been watching you since we moved to Knoydart. Keep up the good work.
@@monday1973 it’s a great resource! Glad you’re enjoying the channel too 😊
Looks ace, but wheres the rest of the Bulgaria vids. Especailly the e-bike one.
Next week for the next Bulgaria video, I’m trying to spread them out a bit.
Forgot I had mentioned the e-bike day tbh 🤔
You probably didn’t.
I emailed the Bulgarian tours , about going 😉
@@NigelGrantwindows ah, fair enough. Super nice guys to deal with👍
Next video is from Bulgaria 👍
I'm considering going there in the week of 10-18 Feb to ride at half or even less the speed. If anyone is up for sharing a few rides, feel free to reach out!
Well, as I said in the video, start with route 7, which is the latter part of this video.
The ZTrails app is your friend though 👍
was 3C on my road ride today. I'm not hating at all.
Similar temp here, but that’s about all the common ground 😜
@@McTrailRider yeah you didn't get a close pass
My hope tech4 v4 were a nightmare brilliant when working but constant issues sold them after 6 months and 5 bleeds 😂 on Trp now on 1 bike and code rs on another fit and forget brakes unlike the hopes
Nightmare!
My main complaint was the noise, subtle, but always there.
The complete failure in Bulgaria was hard to ignore though.
Woah! First :D
Yes you are!
How's the Crafter going, no DPF issues?
The engine had been pretty solid tbh, no dpf issues so far. I’ll bypass it if there ever is though.
I still think it’s a better option over the newer adblue setup.
@@McTrailRider Yeh, careful with that, they check if it's been removed on the MOT now. But if you're doing longer journeys, (like down to Spain when we are all freezing back here) not stop start, you should be ok. Add blue is yet another can of worms!🙄
