    Seems like you totally get it. My absolute FAVORITE thing to do with AR glasses is play games or watch shows while sprawling out on the bed or the couch. Being able to play while completely relaxed, without having to hold up a Steam Deck or whatever to see the screen or crane my neck to look at a TV or monitor while lying down is the. best. thing.
    No more neck pain and no more hand pain.
    I really don't understand why most gaming/tech reviewers don't seem to see how much of a game changer AR glasses can be.

    Excellent video. I've owned the Ones and now the Pros - quality hardware and quality support. Just want to be sure everybody is aware that your experience with blurry edges is not the same as everyone else. The dials work great for me (-4.50 and -4.75) and the picture is crisp, clear, and sharp corner to corner. You may need to mess around with the nose attachments to get the proper fit. Also, if you are using glasses in front of the Viture frames, you are likely pushing your face further away from the screens, which could result in fuzzy corners. For most people, the edges and image will be perfectly sharp. Cheers from Canada!

    I will 100% admit that I picked up a pair of Lazy Glasses that give you a 90 degree view so you can "read" lying down looking pretty much straight up. They actually work really good for playing the Steam Deck too. Nothing as good as these, but for the price, it's a pretty solid thing to try out. Do get the "Widescreen" ones though as the tall ones aren't quite as good for close Deck viewing.

    I guess that one of the bonuses of the external battery dock thingy is that you can charge the deck whilst using the glasses as well since the deck only has 1 usbc port. Unless this works with a normal deck dongle.

    • @Nega_Duck
      @Nega_Duck 7 месяцев назад

      They also a cable that allows for charging and glasses use, I have one and it works great. The reason for the dock is really for the ability to play Switch, it tricks the Switch into going into "dock mode" so you get higher performance and benefit of the battery. They have a similar bracket for the Switch to attach to back.
      I think my primary reason for the dock is to use my ps5 with it. Dad life has you lose the TV at times.

      @@capuman So I have the Xreal Air glasses, so this may not be true for you, but in my experience, the Viture "USB-C to Glasses & Charger Adapter" allows me to use my glasses while charging the OG Steam Deck. I also have a Rokid adapter that does the same thing, but it DOES NOT work with the OG Steam Deck, but DOES work with the new OLED Steam Deck.
      Again, that's for my specific brand of AR glasses. Others my play nice with both adapters with both versions of the Deck.

    After the past couple of weeks of suffering from neck strain from laying in bed playing on my deck, I've finally decided to drop the cash on a pair of these. I've been tempted to get something like this ever since I heard about them, but I wasn't convinced that the technology was quite 'ready' yet (I have the same feelings about VR which I'm still not ready to get into). This review got me to give them a go, I do wish I'd decided to buy these back when I first watched your review when it released as now the pair I've ordered won't arrive in time for my holiday in a couple of weeks, but I'm eager to try them out once they finally do ship. Thanks for another great informative review, I'm going to have to unsubscribe if you keep convincing me to buy awesome expensive tech!

      I'm not sure how that translates to the data that Viture provides. "VITURE Pro XR Glasses support adjusting the virtual image up to -5.0D (500 degrees) for users with myopia (nearsightedness)." My prescription feels like it's right in the middle of the adjustment, but it's still not as clear as when I wear these over my glasses.

    How long is the cable for the XR glasses? I am lost about the image quality. Is the edge to edge image clarity not 100%? I mean I do not want to have blurry display even if its just around the corners of the big screen. How does ultrawide work at 1080p? Can you name at what resolution to keep it simple thanks.

    • @TechDweeb
      @TechDweeb  7 месяцев назад +2

      Included cable is 4ft (can be extended with usbc extender). Edge clarity is not 100% (explained that near the end of the vid). It's almost perfect, but not quite. I didn't try any ultrawide resolutions but it'd be the same as doing ultrawide Steam Link streaming on a 1080p TV.

      @@TechDweeb I've tried to justify the cost of getting XR glasses but it always conflicts with me owning a Quest 3 with better specs for the awesome edge to edge visuals. With XR I mean you need a dock if you plug in a controller and or if you want to also power your handheld with xr type-c connection. With the Quest 3 you can just wirelessly stream with Virtual Desktop app or use the native steam link app. Adding the accessories adds to the bulk and total price and it becomes harder to envision if it's really worth it or not. Zenny even sells cheap quest prescription lens inserts. I got a Quest for VR but I've been considering something lighter for pancake games. It's just shocking no one has moved the needle with these low res 1k dime a dozen XR glasses.

      @@TechDweeb I'd like them a bit lighter, and with slightly larger displays. I've also found that when using mine out and about that I really need to wear a black shirt. If you wear light colors they kind of reflect off the displays and cause contrast loss and visible reflections. I do often wear black, so that's not too bad, but they become significantly less impressive if I choose to wear white some days.

      I have the Viture non-Pro glasses and the Quest 3. I much prefer to watch tv/movies on the Viture glasses than on the Quest. They are much lighter, you don't have a back strap for if you want to recline in a chair or lay down to worry about, and you can connect them right to your phone and use any installed app like RUclips or Plex/Emby if you have a home media server.

      Yes, with the Viture SpaceWalker App. There's productivity stuff and other expansion of iPhone/Android usage (iPhone 15 easiest) that allows monitor setups that are more akin to AR screens. For example, you can select a 3 monitor setup and "look" at the different monitors, or an ultra-wide monitor. These glasses support 3DoF visual "monitor" usage through the SpaceWalker. I wish more reviews covered these capabilities... everyone is gaming on them XD

    • @TechDweeb

      Yup! They are my favourite XR glasses. I don't use them often, but I really enjoy them when I do. I think whether or not they'll be right for you is whether or not you can see a use case for them. If you look at them and think "I NEED THOSE FOR ____", then they're probably for you. If you look at them and thinks "Neat, I wonder if I'd like them", then you probably don't need something like this and won't use them much.

    One thing you don’t mention is if they are 3DOF or 6DOF, if they are 3DOF it’s a big NoNo for me I’m afraid :)

      Givin that the glasses themselves don't have cameras for inside out tracking they're probably identical to the nreal in being 3dof.

    That sounds just like 8bitdo to make a controller clearly built for the steam deck but make it a switch controller inside 😭 like literally just give me an ultimate controller with the Xbox button layout and xinput over bluetooth I hate that it's not an option.
