Why must everything be gendered? So much gendering, all the gendering. You can feel the will leaving my body the more you watch the video. - Развлечения
My lil bro was talking about a cuddly toy that I've had for years, and I asked "what's the toy's gender?", since it was never established. He decided that the toy was non-binary, and used they/them pronouns. I agreed wholeheartedly. And when he's talking about the toy, he'll CORRECT HIMSELF if he gets it wrong.
Seriously. If a child can use the pronouns of a stuffed animal correctly, then I honestly see no excuse for getting trans people's pronouns wrong.
Edit: Woah, thank you so much for the likes! My brother is delighted :)
THATS ADORABLE
There wasn't an excuse in the first place honestly. People correct themselves when misgendering animals, but can't give the same respect for other _humans._ It's really sad on their part. Children are pretty awesome.
Not just that, he was considerate of that toys gender despite it not being a person. It’s not a complicated concept to grasp
@@immaperson321 humans are not more deserving of respect even if you seem to feel that way. Killing a fly is killing an equal

As a mom of both a boy and a girl… a noise with dirt on it describes all children, not just boys.
From my own experience children are chaos with glitter on it
That's adorable
@@kaylawoodbury2308 the glitter is worse than dirt! The glitter never goes away lol we haven’t used glitter in years yet all of us end up with at least one piece on us every day

Once I was walking my service do who often wears bows and a lady stopped and said "What a pretty girl." When my dog hiked his leg to pee on a tree, she literally gasped and said "Oh my God, that's a boy dog. Why does he have a bow?"
I just looked her in the eyes and said plainly
"Anyone can have a bow and a penis." To this day I still giggle when I remember her facial expression.
“Anyone can have a bow and a penis” would look good on a t-shirt!
I would wear that and use that line
😂😂😂 I'm cackling at this image
And then there's my family's dog who has "female" bits and hikes her leg to pee anyway.

My nephew loved snow white as a child. But my sister’s (now ex) husband refused to get him a “girl” toy.
So I not only got him a snow white for his birthday, I got him a “Barbie doll” style one. My nephew LOVED it. And since politeness meant his dad could not take away a gift a family member gave him, the dad was stuck with his son carrying a doll everywhere. 😜
I love you extra for this.
Sadly the 'girl' toy my nephew wanted, that his father refused point blank to get him for gendered reasons, about 15 years ago was a little out of my price range for gifts - An Easy Bake Oven. The really daft thing about that, though? My nephew's father did the majority of the cooking in that household. There's no reason why he should be associated an oven as a 'girls toy' when the reason the kid probably wanted one is because he saw his dad cooking a lot.
@Rya Fitz ☀️ When I was in kindergarten there was this one boy where the sole reason I talked to him at first was because we both had purple as our favorite colour
YES, my mom buys my brother baby dolls and ignores what people say because she says they will make him a good parent ^__^ it's adorable seeing him carry around a baby doll.
My little brother adores all of the pretty doll toys but he is mocked at by his father. His father is my uncle so he doesn't live in the same room as me but it's kinda funny when he is being bratty and annoying for whatever reason lol
I doubt he would be allowed to have nail polish, he even asked once i believe but he was denied.
"Could glitter not be dirt?"
No, it is a self replicating parasite that can never be eradicated once it has touched something. There is a finite amount of dirt, there is an infinite amount of glitter.
that is the best definition of glitter i have ever seen
Hahahaha- quite true, quite true.
Glitter is self-reproducing and cannot be eradicated once and there are an infinite amount of them.

The problems of brow brushes are that they add pigment and seemingly length but they also thin them out if they’re too long or brittle. A blond guy I know has the _longest_ eyelashes that only are visible in the right lighting because they’re blond.
I feel lucky that my mom never cared about me liking stereotypical “boy” toys. She just went along and let me get my TMNT and DC toys. She also didn’t object when I cut my hair and refused to wear dresses (dresses me me feel sick to the stomach).
But then she said that she’ll never accept me if I turned out trans or lesbian. When you buy earrings at Shein, “male” earrings come as single and “female” ones come in pairs, both cases cost the same, lol.
I should be mad at this, because it is just stupid cashgrabbing from their perspective. But from the outside perspective: some, if not a lot of, men will probably buy the "women" earrings because they don't accept getting less for their money and those are the little things that will eventually normalise men buying "feminine" things. It's probably not the right way. But at least it's a way

And thanks, Jamie! Discovering I'm trans has been SO MUCH EASIER with your channel! It seems less scary and way more...fun and normal. 😁😁❤❤
This reminds me of a failed social experiment from my media studies class a couple of years ago. I don’t remember what the subject was that day, but the lecturer started showing colours on screen and asking us what we related them with. When we got to blue everyone said things like “sad” and “the sky” and we got to a point where she said, kind of bewildered, “you all haven’t said what I was expecting yet”, so we said some more abstract stuff but he sort of shook his head and went to the next colour, which was pink and we all immediately got that he had expected us to say “boy” when he showed blue. Literally no one said that, and I didn’t even think it so bit of a fail on his part.
Isn’t it kind of weird that in our modern culture (modern, pink used to be seen as a boyish color) pink is almost exclusively associated with girls, while blue still has all sorts of other messages attached to it. Not only that, in gendered products boy stuff isn’t just blue, it’s pretty much any color besides pink and usually purple.

But I haven't used most of them yet because I keep reusing the same ones over and over again, like I had this one hair tie that I really liked and I would use it all the time, even after it snapped, and I wore it for about 9+ months before I threw it away because I was sick and tired of my hair getting caught in the elastic thing, and one time it got tangled in it so bad that I had to cut a small chunk of hair off.
I wholeheartedly believe that the reason women do not have pockets in their clothing is to get them to purchase handbags. Multiple handbags for multiple outfits and occasions. Just another way that the fashion industry capitalizes on gender.
Very good insight.
I (a woman) bought men’s body wash today because it smelled good. Men apparently aren’t allowed to smell like flowers otherwise why would there be gendered body wash? 🤷♀️
I also prefer shampoos for men because they smell fresher than the girl ones.

My Dad is the guy in the house that owns the power drill, but he is by no means handy. I would even go as far as to say we are of equal skill in that regard, so I can see your point.

Especially that one that affects you but you don't really care about the kids who do not have the right to dolls, pink and soft clothes or any useful toy set. You do not live it so who cares
I hate the differences between men and women aisles at stores, like at Walmart. Half the women's clothes are shitty Facebook mom text on shirts or fake prints that come from some sorta outside culture (like shittily printed Aztec designs. If I wanted something with a design from an indigenous culture I'd actually shop at a place led by people of that culture). The men's sections have all the cool graphics from old videogames, superheros, retro-styled prints, and even some wacky abstract stuff. I even bought one of those abstract cool print shirts because it's SUPER FUCKIN COOL.
Another thing is that I saw autism prints (like, the sorta cheesy but still cool looking designs and prints that are uplifting to younger kids with autism and stuff), but they were ONLY IN THE MEN'S SECTION. As an afab person with autism, that who idea that only amab people have autism INFURIATES me, especially since I KNOW A LOT MORE AFAB FOLK WITH AUTISM THAN AMAB PEOPLE.

Yay! I’m so excited for you! Good luck on your transition much love
Congrats!! I'm proud of you for asking! Good luck!
"can we please make pockets equal and make it so dresses and skirts also have pockets"
Pretty sure Yelena Belova would approve of this lmao
those "you wouldn't steal a car" ads were definitely not UK exclusive btw, they were all over the place in the USA
Australia, too.
I'm sure they were equally ignored in all places.
And the older I got, the less I cared about them.
Funny thing is if I was dared and I knew how to drive I probably would steal a car
I think I remember it being on my Spy Kids VHS along with at least a few others.
"a giggle with glitter" "a noise with dirt on it"
these people want to make sure that their children turn out that way just so that they then can complain about it
the genius is mind blowing
Even tho I’m a cis girl: I’d be a noise with glitter on it. Talkative and crafty. Mud can be washed away, glitter not so much
I agree. I am kinda pretty but also loud
As someone who works in retail, glitter is absolutely dirt
Im sorry, but it has just hit me today how much Jamie looks like young dad James Potter. Oh my god. (Not the one in the movies, more like headcanon James Potter)
Great Video! :)
Sweet Circe i see it 😂
Oh WOW
He really does!
OMG YES
I was raised in an opposite way. Since a kid, whenever I wanted dolls or dresses, my father would tell me “no, those are for little girls.”, however when I go for the ‘boy toys’ section he would be so happy.
Tbh, I have always been confused about my gender and not sure if I was supposed to be this way...
5:41 it must be specifically from the Glitére region of France to be glitter, otherwise it's just sparkling dirt.
The product:

Nice. I’m agender. I’m absolutely silent and able to repel debris of any kind. lol 😁

But Jamie whooshed it adorably
book: real men don’t say splendid
my dad, who says splendid all the time when he’s on the phone with his mum:
the gendered brown and white bags reminds me of when I was buying a new bed frame for my kid and the shop assistant told me that the grey frame was for boys and the white was for girls.
All I asked for was the price and if it could be delivered.
I do support bows & flowers on dogs 😃. Regardless of gender, I have a huge subwoofer rottweiler and everyone would step out of our way🙁. Bow & flowers attract smiles and hugs for the pupper, who loves it 🥰
I love the contrast of a pink bow on my dog.
Rotties are so adorable I love them so much
Just started watching and the pink bow on the dog reminded me that every year the Australian Dog Registration Board produces the dog regsitration tags in a different colour. About 15 or so years ago, they produced pink ones and owners who had male dogs went berserk! The Board quickly had to produce a different colour because apparently colour-blind dogs actually give a toss! Our male dog would have worn it with pride but they changed the colour before I got around to paying xxx
I used to have 2 Labrador retrievers. One had blonde fur, and the other had black fur. Everyone always assumed the blonde one was a girl, and the other a guy. It was the other way around. My black lab is named Sophie! We still have her, but we don’t have the blond one, Bentley, anymore. So yeah just weird how everyone assumed Sophie was a boy, and they still do haha
I have a male pomeranian, and a female black shepherd mix. I definitely relate to this
I have this with my service dog. She is a girl but everyone assumes she is a boy because she is a working dog. Some even insisted that she can't be a service dog/is a fake service dog because she's a girl. Blows my mind that the woman's can't do jobs stereotype is still around and gets applied on a flippin dog. Just let her do her job in peace.

Non-binary (n.)
A yawn because we’re tired of life at this point
i work with kids, and the earring thing reminded me of a really cute moment.
i was showing an 8 yo boy a pic of my earring collection (he asked about collecting things) and he was so amazed by it. he asked me if boys can wear earrings too.
it’s sad for me to think that he thinks that there are things he can’t do just because he’s a boy but i’m glad he asks so i could educate him and tell him that if he wants to wear earrings with gummy bears on them he definitely can :)
My mum point-blank refused to teach me to _crochet_ when I was in primary school, but she happily taught my older sister instead.
She literally said to me: _Boys can't crochet._
I cleverly tried to circumvent her ban by secretly asking my older sister to teach me. But that beatch just lorded her new skill over me and refused to teach me. 😡
However, my _wife_ happily taught me to crochet, and I love the hobby now. And she doesn't think I'm any less 'manly' because I crochet! 🤣
Fun fact: I have a trans doll named Thomas, and a transphobe helped him transition.
My aunt and uncle (who don't support LGBT) used to give me an American girl doll for Christmas every year. One year, I decided I wanted a boy doll. Since the company didn't make boy dolls, they bought a customized 'girl' doll with masculine-looking clothing. Then they cut his hair short and clipped his eyelashes shorter. I was very happy with the boy doll. Later, I found out that he used to be a 'girl' doll. At first, I was a little upset that he wasn't a 'real' boy (I didn't know anything about trans folks back then), but I quickly got used to the idea. He was a real boy to me and it didn't matter to me anymore how he was made. Now as an adult, I know more about trans people and think it's cool that my doll is trans. I also find it funny that a transphobic couple helped him transition. I'm thinking of maybe knitting Thomas a scarf in the trans colors.
A few years ago, American Girl Doll released their 'first boy doll', Logan. I thought that was fun, but Logan wasn't the first, because Thomas was first :)
After watching your content for like.. what 4 years now?
I have FINALLY come to terms with my gender, I hated myself so much, I felt disgusted with myself and all I wanted was to be 'normal'
But you've shown me that it's okay to be who I am, and thanks to that I've made some amazing friends, and come so far!
Thank you for giving me the courage to be myself

The stripy sock literally looks like how I feel attempting performative femininity 😂😂😂

6:36 I really hope that this kid told his parents that he wanted the flowers, and they bought them for him and had a talk with the aunt/uncle.
6:30 This breaks my heart. A kid should be allowed to have whatever they want in their room. It's THEIR living space, not their parents'.

Hey, idk, I’m rlly happy I wanna share this hehe. A few days ago I went to met an online friend and her brother thinks I’m a boy (He saw me from like 10 meters away) and her mother thinks I’m a girl. (She was next to her brother) and they are “fighting” abt that. I’m agender ksksks

Them: Which are you?
You: No.

"Why categorize brown and white as being gendered" ok but my school colours are brown and white and when students graduate, the boys get a brown cap and gown, the girls get a white cap and gown, and the nonbinaries (at least a nonbinary friend of mine did) can mix and match
A couple of years ago I went to a jewellery shop because I needed to get a present for my mom, and also get new earrings for a weddings I was going to. I chose a set for my mom and a nice pair of earrings for myself. When it was time to ask the lady for them, she pointed to the pair I chose for myself and said "oh, are you getting these fora boyfriend?" And I responded "no, they are for myself" and explained to her that I needed them for a wedding, and she looked horrified and said "b-but these are for men! Let me show you a pair for women" and I don't even know what look I gave her, because she said "oh... uh... nevermind"
Man, OneTopic AND Jammi post on the SAME day?? I am truly blessed
noah had just mentioned the “you wouldn’t steal a car” commercial in one of his recent videos😂
Pockets!! Yes please, I need pockets in my trousers and skirts!! Everyone has a right to have good pockets
So when I was in grade two, my class made a cat in the hat craft where you would cut out a print of the red and white striped hat and color it and glue it on a print of your head. The girls had to do glitter on the red parts of the hat, while boys had to just color in crayon. I asked my teacher why I couldn’t put glitter on my hat. She said that I don’t need to. And I told my parents and they were like “that’s stupid! Glitter is pretty”
So yeah that’s my pointlessly gendered story
I have spent the past few days arguing with transphobes, I am here for some positivity
That sounds rough. Here are some positivity to you ❤️

When I was little I genuinely thought Yorkie bars were poisonous to girls so never ate them.
I was older when the ad campaign came out, I ate them as an act of defiance and "sticking it to the patriarchy" lol.

The Yorkie bars in UK army ration packs have "Not for civvies!" printed on them. So if you're female and want to eat Yorkies, join the army (!)

When I was little some kid said I wasn’t allowed to like brown and green (my fav colours) because I was a girl, and I was only allowed to like pink. For years, pink was my least favourite colour out of pure spite. Also I hated “girly” things and would always get “boy” toys. Btw I am a cis girl. I just didn’t like the things society shoved down my throat.
I was always a very girly girl (and still am) but never liked pink. Pink is still one of my least favorite colors.
this reminds me of when my grandma took me to pick out a car seat when i was 5, and there was one with flames on it, (that i thought looked cool at the time) and there were pink ones with zebra stripes, and i asked for the flames one and she said "no, that's for boy's car seats" and i fought her on it for so long and i cried bc she yelled at me and said she'd pick for me if i didnt get a pink one. so, little five year old me was very very upset, and every time I got in the car i'd get a little bit sad. but what really made me mad was when my childhood friend at the time, (who is a boy) had the exact same flames car seat i saw at the store, and he told me that it wasnt really that cool, and it was just like the other car seat. and that made me feel a bit better.

I think it’s actually because back in the day, sailors related this to the idea of a strong female figure (such as a mother or a goddess) guiding and protecting the ship and crew. It’s pretty interesting :D

I looked to see if anybody said, "Don't worry your pretty little head about it", and I don't have the nerve either. Good post, Elyne.
I'm Italian, and when in elementary school our teacher was teaching girls and boys to idk be quiet, she said to the girls to learn: "please boys, be quiet, stop that noise!" while being all composed, while the boys had to say loudly:"shut up girls! Stop that noise!" while standing up? I'm still extremely pissed off to this days.
I love how these are exactly all the things that conflicted me as a child. Glad to know so many people are against them too. Also as a person who never identified as either male or female and instead a little bit of both is nice to know there are other people out there like it.
