    Thanks so much again for those videos! "Unfortunately" I seldom encounter someone that pushes on the chest, as in our schools fundamentals the escape with the c-grip on the ankle, stuffing the leg to half guard is taught. How do you deal with that? (As it is the first of your 2 must-know neon-belly escapes, I'm sure you have to deal with this escape frequently 🙂) excuse my impatience, if this is covered in one of the upcoming videos, just tell me and I'll eagerly wait for those 😄 Really appreciate you and Tai spending so much time to create this channel! Thank you! 🙏

      unsungSwissHero I will be addressing this in future videos 😀 with that said, if they do the C cup on the ankle sometimes they do a second hand assist on the knee at which point the undertook may present itself. I find that people push on the chest more in the transitionary period of a pass being established. For example x pass, torreando, etc.

    • @aaronbenzrihembjj6014
      @aaronbenzrihembjj6014  4 года назад +1

      @@mac212 Thanks for the binging haha. As far as that situation it sounds kind of like a pre-engagement situation where things are relatively neutral aside from the lapel grip. I'd probably do a number of things, X pass, torreando, leg drag, grip break. I'd have to see to be more clear - check out this video as an option ruclips.net/video/8huFMFJPsZM/видео.html

    I just made blue belt and I have been watching many youtube channels on BJJ and just stumbled upon yours...my main question is this, are many of your successful techniques custom built for your body type? I literally have the opposite body as you, I am 5'5", stocky, short limbs, 42 years old and I usually do slow methodical movements....can your moves work for me or should I be researching other stuff more well-suited to my body type...thanks for the videos , OSS!!

    • @aaronbenzrihembjj6014
      @aaronbenzrihembjj6014  4 года назад +1

      Jason Rollo that’s a great question, I would say that anyone can do the movements I do. I’ve been teaching religiously for 6 years and I have had students of many different body types, age groups and athletic levels have success with my techniques. Also, a lot of the stuff I show on here are my takes on subscriber questions or broad and popular topics to help people improve. OSS!

      spectre239 I am definitely. The next series I have planned is a De La Riva guard one from bottom. Then I may do RDLR, and the next is likely knee on belly, or more broad conceptual approaches to utilizing mobility to maintain passes and attacks which would be a ton of knee on belly.

    i have a question on the first arm bar, presumably the guy is a lifter/body builder/wrestler... that i cannot get the extension because of his strength (he is able to keep his arm bent in) is there a modification/solution for this and similar scenarios? (i feel like it happens a lot for me during armbars and they just take top position)

    • @aaronbenzrihembjj6014
      @aaronbenzrihembjj6014  4 года назад +1

      Hoàng Nguyễn it’s a weird question in a way because the entire basis of the move is that your opponent tried to “bench press” you off them and presented full limb extension. Either on your hip or chest. This is actually my “highest percentage” submission and I think it’s a timing thing. My answer would be if they are not extending, don’t go for the first arm bar.. make sense? Osssss!!!

    Hi Aaron, what happens to me sometimes is that people don't push on anything, and instead keep their elbows very tight and just try to roll towards me or away from me. Does this ever happen to you, or does good pressure just prevent this?

    • @aaronbenzrihembjj6014
      @aaronbenzrihembjj6014  3 года назад +1

      Happens all the time, ideally I want them to roll away, if they do I attempt a back take or stop them on one hip. If they just stay still and keep super tight I will either mount or go for an ezekiel to threaten something.
