Oooohh! ORANGE SLICES!!!! Grandma used to make rhubarb jam with cut up orange slices. She let them melt down partially but left some of the candy in the jam. It was a big hit with us grandkids.
When I built my truck camper out of wood back 1990, (I don't have a plasma cutter). It was for a Nissan King Cab, so smaller with a 6 foot bed 7 feet wide and the cab overhang was 3 or 4 feet (don't remember). However, the floor of the overhang was 3/4" plywood and it was only supported at the edges hung from 2 x 4" and the body of the camper. Never had any problems with that. Certainly there are many things I would have done different, but I at least got that part right.
You let Riley use the Instant Pot again. Brave. But no small disasters! 👍 Enjoyed the video. Still looking forward to the suspension build. (Yes, I'm more into the truck than the skiing - and the dogs are a draw as well.) Keep up the good work!
It’s been working really well for us, we’re pretty sure it’s the most efficient way to cook with electricity (minimal heat loss). We’re planning on a video soon where we see how little of power we can use to cook a meal!

I noticed that there was a lack of diagonal braces in the bunk area when you built, and wondered how it would support over time. Check out Leave Everything and Wander to see how they fixed this problem. IT's not quite as beautiful as your build mind you.
Hi there! Because of how our structure was designed the entire upper wall panel is the diagonal brace. I really appreciate the tip and we are definitely going to check out their channel!

Just an idea, but I think I would have looked into utilizing a roof rack for the truck itself. If that was possible, the whole front of the camper could be supported by the roof rack for added stability and support.
Exactly what Bryan said! Hard mounting the camper to the truck would have caused an entire separate issue. In the 90s they made these things called roof donuts that you inflated to support camper above the truck roof... they resulted in dented roofs and weird forces on the camper.
Yeah, I forgot that the cab and bed don't move together. That would create a problem. It would have to be something that would just rest on the support while still allowing it to move from side to side.
Thanks David! It really depends on the place, a few resorts will let you park overnight (always ask first). Otherwise we try to find BLM or national forest nearby that allowed dispersed camping. If that doesn’t work we’ll try Walmart or a local’s driveway!

All I know is they are certainly larger than ours... 😉
They're called "Seat Heaters" because "Rear Defrosters" was already taken.

For just the two of us, nope! The insane turning radius and ability to park anywhere makes it the perfect adventure mobile.
